Chapter 3
I think I lie curled in a ball at the fork, sobbing for a good 2 hours or so.
I knew I had to get moving before nightfall, though, so I roll into my feet, my muscles ache from staying in the same position for too long.
I start to walk through woods, I had never noticed before, but the plants here give off a gleam, sparkle maybe and the flowers let off a sickly sweet scent.
I start to feel a bit drowsy and my eyelids start to get heavy, I sink to my knees in to the soft, mossy ground.
And that's when I black out.
When I wake up I'm still a bit drowsy and I seem to be floating in midair In a transparent bubble.
"Good, you're awake," comes a woman's voice.
I start, and roll up onto my knees, I look at the woman in front of me walking along with the bubble, with me inside it.
The back of her head was facing me, an intricate braid curled around her head.
As she turns towards me the bubble I am in comes to a halt with a wave of her hand.
Her sky blue eyes meet mine.
"Who are you?" I ask her.
"I am Aurelia," she replys
"What are you?"
"That question is for later," she turns away again.
We start moving through the forest.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask.
"The willow," she says simply.
"Which one?"
"The one,"
I huff "That doesn't really answer my question!" I feel my temper rising.
She doesn't reply.
I feel sparks ignite beneath my fingertips and my hair floats around me.
"You need to calm down," Aurelia
says.
As quickly as the sparks came, they're gone.
What was that?? I think to myself.
"That was the art of magick," Aurelia stayed.
Was she reading my mind?
"Yes,"she says once again
"That's private!" I feel anger boiling inside me, and feel the heat under my fingertips once more.
I feel a cool wave run through my body, quenching the flames inside me as Aurelia waves her hand.
I feel a wave of relief run through me "Thank you," I say gratefully.
"You're welcome," she says in a soft tone, so different from the firm tone she used earlier.
"Now, hold your nose, or the smell will knock you out," she says, just as a sickly sweet smell
Washes over me, the same smell that made me black out earlier, I hold my nose.
There are vines in front of us, as we push through them, I feel this is one of the people my father trusts.
When we get through the vines, in front of me stands the oldest and most beautiful weeping willow I have ever seen.
