Samira P.O.V

I was lying beside my niece in Brenda's office, brushing through her shoulder length wavy ginger hair.

She had fallen unsconscious half an hour ago, and I knew exactly the reason why.

She was shifting.

We all have to go through it at some point, but Ash was shifting late.

Derek and Carly had forced her to keep it bottled up inside of her fragile body, now don't get me wrong, I love my sister.

But Derek? Eh, not so much.

I still blame my sister, it's dangerous for a child to contain it, I shifted at age ten, Ashlyn was well overdue.

Derek has been using his magic to supress Ashlyn's, but since the second attack, it has been lifted and Ashlyn's Dragon was fighting its way forward.

I knew what was happening, her Dragon is showing her memories that she has forgotten that had been stolen away from her, and locked away, because apparantly,
they were to dangerous for Derek's precious darling.

I know, I know, I had annoyed Ash, but I honestly didn't know it was her, I do it with most of the students, but of course, they know who it is immediately, and ruin all of my glorious fun, but Ash has no idea, and it was highly amusing.

I would pop into her head often, most of the time when I was bored, or when she was about to fall asleep.

Her dreams were amusing, but playing with her joyful slumbers and turning them into nightmares, was even more so, of course, I meant no actual harm, but she had taken it badly, and soon, unbelievably had built up a defence in her little mind.

She would block me with a wall of wood at first, which I easily broke down and boasted about for an hour.

Her defence got slowly stronger, and I now had to put more effort in, it was as hard as gold now.

I knew when she fully shifted, I was in some deep do-do.

Ash P.O.V

I was still floating.

I had been floating on time, infinite time.

There was a deep, dull presence at the back of my mind that was radiating power, an ancient power, and it was growing by the minute, but at the same time, so did the pain.

I felt fire run through my veins, like last time, but much, much more agonising.

I felt like I was bathing in lava.

It felt as though I was drowning, burning and living at the same time, for, mixed with the horror of the agony, it was exhilarating.

Completely and utterly exhilarating.

My vision was dim, but I could see a face above me creased I  worry as I thrashed in throes of pain.

I fell back under again, lightly aware that my bones were starting to break and a cold substance being constantly poured over my blazing skin.

Will P.O.V

I could hazily feel her pain, and it was immense, and it was merely a quarter of what she was suffering, and had been able to for the past hour or so.

I had been trying to keep it in for a while now, and not tell any body about it, but it was nearly impossible to keep my stupid mouth shut.

My mouth that granted permission for people to do horrible things, horrible things to my own best friend and his sister.

I had watched from the shadows as they were tortured, and it was the first day she had felt real pain, real agony, and because of that I had felt true anguish, true regret.

Regret that fills my whole heart, regret for tearing that family apart.

Regret for tearing my mate apart.

HellOo people of the Earth, it is I, back again from my long disappearance.

Cliffhanger!!! Well, sort of anyway.

Right, anyway, I have a tiny tale to tell.

I was on the dual carriageway the other day, and there was a car we were overtaking, and driver gave me a massive, open-mouth grin, like the grinch, but with his mouth open.

It was only for a split second, but I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing!! Everybody must have thought I had gone completely and utterly mad!!

(Yeah, I know I'm weird, as some of my dear friends have pointed out, you know who you are!!)
