Prologue
“You can’t do this with me. Jason!” I tapped on his apartment door. "Jason!" Only for his mother to appear behind my back.
“He isn’t here!" I turned around to stare at her dress. She was ready for the wedding. Then, why she didn't come?
“Aunt Clara! Why? How can he do this with me?” I couldn't hold a sob. There were three thousand people at the wedding. And, he only sent his assistant to announce there will be no wedding. But she only stared at me heaving with anger. I couldn't get what I did to earn it.
“You and your uncle brought it on you! You two are nothing but liars!" She gritted before coming to catch my wrist and started dragging me.
“Ah...I didn’t know anything about it. Please, I have to talk to Jason. I am expecting. He doesn’t even know.” This made her stop to look at me. She had to let me talk to Jason. Or how it was to work.
“We don’t want to do anything with you. You better leave. Or I will have to call security.” Saying this she opened her purse to throw a few bills on my face. “Get it aborted for all I care. There is no way we’ll have an heir from a bagger like you!”
I looked at my bridal dress and hiccuped. I could still feel all those embarrassing stares from our wedding venue, those laughs and sneers. It really did happen. It wasn't a nightmare. It was all too real. And, no matter how hard I tried to believe in Jason. The reality that he stood me up at the altar without giving me a chance for an explanation could never ever change.
