Coach:

He always wanted to learn it, thinking if ever a kid came to him mute or deaf he could make that kid's day. So when you offered to teach him he immediately agreed. He listened attentively, copied your hands the whole time, allowed you to adjust his hands and accepted when he's doing it wrong. He learned fast, especially as he got a habit of talking and using sign language for the stuff he knows.

This would turn out to be very handy for situations where silence is top priority but communication is needed.

Rochelle:

Each time she came to work and saw the interpreter it inspired her to also learn. Yet she never did. It was the thing of 'I'll do it. Next Monday.' and then that Monday she would repeat that very same sentence.

To teach her was easy then as she already had a want to learn it, and with the bits she saw of the interpreter she knew a few signs already. Simply not the meaning behind them. It came quite natural to her, actually. She claims it's due to having stared at the interpreter too much during breaks.

Ellis:

He wanted to learn the cute signs and simple stuff first. And obviously insults next! That's the most fun part of learning any language! But he especially wants to learn it if you require this to be able to have a comfortable conversation with him.

Now Ellis won't deny he's not the best in the education/remembering field, so it took a while but he was determined! Each day he signed. Many things wrong but he had the spirit, and that's the most important part to learn, improve, and stay encouraged. So took a while but can now have an accurate hour long conversation with him in sign language.

Nick:

Why should he learn that..? FOR WHO?! No one exists anymore! Unless you require it but otherwise fuck that shit. And if he does learn and you dare criticize him he's done right away. He sucks at it. He feels dumb moving his arms so wildly. Though he does like the aggressive/insulting signs, more so as he can do them to Ellis and Ellis remains clueless but paranoid.
