Chapter 4: As If The Last
--<-><-><-><->--
Gray sure did go home and spend much needed quality time with his family. It was the last time they'd all be together like this, though only Gray knew it was the last.
Gray played with Storm in the play room (which was the living room as of right now), playing with action figures and acting as super heroes saving people from burning buildings (Which Gray had joked that Natsu had started those fires to his son.) While that happened, Juvia prepared some chocolate chip cookies for the two boys that loved them.
That happened for most of the day, but now it was night time. Gray and Juvia were getting Storm ready for bed for the last time together. Of course Juvia didn't know it was the last, but Gray knew and he wanted to cherish that moment.
After Storm's bath, Gray dressed his son in a dinosaur onesie for bed. After that, both he and Juvia walked side by side with Storm in Gray's arms to his room. Juvia usually was the one to put Storm in bed, but Gray begged that he do it that time - it was the last, of course. -
Juvia waited by the door frame as she leaned against it, watching the scene before her, adoringly. Gray held Storm in his arms and swayed him back and forth for a long time, cherishing the hug he was in with his son. He kissed Storm's red tinted cheeks before setting him in his crib, pulling his sky blue blanket over his tiny body.
"Daddy?" Storm spoke quietly, his voice was quiet and tiresome.
"Yes, baby?" Gray asked as tears filled his eyes. He sure was going to miss him.
"I wove (love) you" the raven - almost blue - haired child closed his eyes as a small smile formed on his face as he fell into deep sleep.
Gray had barely noticed that he had been standing for at least 5 minutes staring at his son sleeping - oblivious to the obvious tears falling down his cheeks.
"Gray?" Juvia wrapped her arms around her husband, hugging him from behind. "Why are you crying?"
Gray sniffed and lifted his hand up to wipe the tears he barely noticed away from his cheek. "I'm not crying."
"Darling, I'm not stupid…" Juvia said worringly "Your acting as if you're never going to see Storm again…"
That was the thing. He was never going to see Storm, not for a few months at least. This is what made Gray want to tell Juvia. The woman was too smart and could tell why he was sad all of the time. Juvia knows everything and anything about her husband - she might as well be his second person. Gray 2.0. He just needed to tell her, it would lessen the drama anyway, and atleast she would know where he was and not have to worry that he had left her forever. Gray already had to go through that
- Juvia too - they had lived together when their guild disbanded. Gray had left her for another not-to-be-told-to-anyone job because it would be more safer for only fewer people to know. All of that time that Juvia did not know where Gray was, she got hurt, waited for him in the rain to later get a high fever- all because she waited for him. Gray was worried that would happen again. And then Juvia would die if she had to wait in the rain for longer outside while waiting for him to return, leaving Storm by his own-
Shaking his thoughts- Gray still couldn't tell her. Erza would kill him if he told. He didn't want that. Then we would quite literally never see Juvia or Storm again!
He changed the subject. "How about we go downstairs?"
"Gray…." Juvia sighed out. Gray always changed the subject when something was up.
"Lets just watch some TV. That sounds fun." Gray stepped aside from his wife and left the room to go down the stairs, Juvia following behind.
-
Gray sat himself on the couch and turned on the TV. Not too much later, Juvia came and cuddled up next to him, her head on his shoulder as she caressed his leg as the two watched the dancing pixles on the screen.
No matter how much Gray tried, he couldn't stop thinking.
What ifs were filling in his mind- What if Juvia is hurt and I'm not there? What if Storm randomly dies? What if the house gets broken into, and both Juvia and Storm are killed, leaving me with nothing?-
-Gray had to stop- he just had to. Everything would be okay, Juvia had the rest of the guild to protect her. Heck, Lyon would probably not mind sleeping in the guest bedroom with Meredy all the time Gray is gone. Lyon could protect her, Lyon had said so himself.
Gray only sighed. Why was he worrying? He could've been done with the important job already without those rushing thoughts running in his mind. He could be giving his wife the best night their going to have for awhile.
Gray did just that.
Pulling his arm from around his wife - gaining a questionable look from his wife - he grabbed her hips, pulling her to sit on his lap whereas she was facing him.
Before Juvia could protest - the television was premiering an interesting show - Gray shushed her with a kiss.
Their lips danced with eachothers for a while before Juvia opened her mouth, letting Gray's tongue slide against hers.
Rolling her eyes to the back of her head with a satisfied look, Juvia moaned. Moving her hands into his raven hair to tangle in the strands, rubbing his scalp deliciously.
Pulling away, Gray viciously attacked her neck - all in which got a prolonged moan from the blue haired goddess atop him.
Juvia sighed with contentment, "Gray, what's the matter?" she moaned out, her head leaning backwards as he reached a place that spiked her spine with satisfaction. "Your.. Your acting strange…."
Instead of answering, he continued to satisfy her.
This went on all night- She would ask a question, he would reply with pleasuring her more.
It was true bliss, although it was the last that would happen in months.
