The Second Time
The second time she leaves, she tells me nothing would change this time, this time for sure. And that this time, for sure, we'd be eating those ice cream sandwiches, and splashing each other, and this time, we'd finally finish those friendship bracelets. Hers was fiery, all red and oranges, while mine was filled with blues.
Look at these, she'd said to me. They're opposites, like hot and cold! She'd been all excited, saying that they fit together perfectly. She'd winked at me, saying that only opposites could fit together so well. She'd laughed her beautiful laugh, and then we worked together in silence for some minutes before she got pulled away, leaving me with a black screen and a remnant of her that I could never quite capture in screenshots.
