"Get up my boy! It's nearly over" Keons said. Everyone looked at the young man on the table, they didn't know wether they should pity the young soul or stare at him in wonder.
He groaned in what they could imagine was pain.
Keons wanted to hug the boy, he knew that this was the worst part but it was nearly at its end, he would just have to hold on for a while longer.
While I was at my most vulnerable state, the Bishops began their chant. Foreign words rang around my ears but the only hung I felt was pain. The after taste of the chemical burned my mouth.
I'm screaming in the inside, begging for it all to stop. I can't tell what's wrong or what's right, the pain to unbearable to understand.
The audience watched in awe as a light began to flicker. Keons looked at the boy with a look one could only describe as pride.
It was over as soon as it started. My eyelids felt heavy. There was this weird sensation in my chest, it made me feel as if I was an empty shell. A hand was placed on my head but I did not move.
"Recite the oath" a withered voice said. I silently nodded and the foreign language spilled off my tongue easily.
I'm not sure why I was so relaxed about this. My head felt like it was under water and any command sent my way, I would do it without any second thought.
"Tyler..." Keons looked at me like I was his own child, a light in his hands he presented it to me with pride. "Place your light with the rest of us, son..." I did as I was told.
The bundle of neon glowed brighter than before. "Welcome to DEMA"
