-Brice's POV-
"Come on babe, they're waiting for us!" I yelled from the front door, dressed in my navy gown, mortarboard in hand. I heard soft thumps along the hallway and smiled to myself.
"C-com-ming!"
I spun around, a huge grin in my face, as I saw Seto rush out, hastily tucking his hair into a hairband. I watched as he walked up to me, pecking my cheek and opening the front door.
Ever since he first spoke, I had fallen in love all over again with this beautiful boy. His voice was soft, and he spoke usually in mumbles and whispers, but he could be loud when he wanted. And damn, he knew how to use that sinful tongue of his in the bedroom!
The week after he started talking, we had found him a speech therapist to help him, since he practically passed out from exhaustion that first time.
She was a lovely middle aged woman called Linda, and had come over to our house many times, and we had become good friends.
A hand yanked my arm forward, shaking me from my thoughts. Seto was looking at me with amusement. "Z-zoned out ag-again, Brice?" he questioned, smirking.
I smiled and leant down, kissing him on the lips softly. "Nah, just thinking about you." I murmured, smiling, causing Seto to blush and bite his lip nervously.
I chuckled, hugging him, and we made our way down to the car, ready for graduation. My art job had landed me some good money, so we bought a new car and some new furnishings for the flat, nothing major, just to make it home.
Seto hopped in the passenger seat as I slid in the drivers side, buckling up and taking hold of Seto's hand. I glanced over to him, my heart beating faster with anticipation of what was to come today.
"You ready for the beginning of the rest of our lives?" I whispered dramatically, eyes wide and feigning an excited yelp. Seto rolled his eyes and giggled, nodding, squeezing my hand tight.
Progress with Seto's speech had been, slow.
He stuttered a lot with long sentences, and when he was felling very strong emotions, such as fear of anger. Linda had told us that it was normal in Seto's circumstances, as being mute from such a young ages would damage his speaking ability a lot.
His stutter - which I personally found adorable - made Seto feel a bit self conscious, so would, so far, only talk to those who were close, such as Linda, the guys and myself.
They were all really patient with him, ecstatic that he was talking. Even Adam, in all his childishness, would sit quietly, listening intently as Seto spoke.
Speaking of Adam, as we pulled up outside the graduation venue not far from school, he and Ty ran up to the car, huge grins on their faces. Adam was hopping around the car energetically, engulfing Seto and I in a bone crunching hug as soon as we left the car.
"Adam... can't... breathe..." I choked, making him release us, that goofy smirk still on his face as he bounced around. Seto sighed fondly, turning to Ty. 'You didn't give him coffee did you?' he signed, eyebrow raised.
Seto and Ty had become very close, and often still spoke in sign language when alone together. I'd be jealous, if I didn't see Ty's love for Adam shine bright, returned by the goofball unequivocally. The same as I loved Seto.
Ty chuckled, gazing at Adam affectionately, who returned it and grabbed his waist, holding him against his chest.
"No, he's just really excited. Plus, I promised him ice cream after." Ty muttered. Adam kissed the back of Ty's neck, trailing up his jaw until their lips met, hands locked together.
Seto and I aww'd at the two lovebirds. They had yet to make an actual date for the wedding, and wanted to wait at least until after graduation, hoping to finally tie the knot next spring.
Ty gave me a knowing look, pulling away from Adam with a wink. I grinned back, hoping he had finished helping in my plans for later. He nodded and all four of us made our way inside to find Mitch and Jerome.
As we walked in, we were greeted with a sea of navy blue gowns, the hum of chatter thick in the air. I gripped Seto's hand as we made our way through.
Suddenly, I went crashing to the floor, a wriggling lump on top of me. "Biggums!" they screeched in my ear, practically bursting my eardrums. Yep, found Merome.
"Get off me!" I try to shout, although it just came out as a strained 'mumph', my face being squashed by and excited bacca. He rolled off and someone's hand pulled me up. Mitch grinned back at me, giving me a side hug.
"You ready for graduation?!" he said, Jerome coming over and putting an arm around him, squeezing. I laughed and nodded, turning back to Seto as we walked across the room.
Seto suddenly pulled me to the side, dragging me towards a familiar group of people. Since being with Linda, she had put us in group therapy, along with four others, who incidentally came to our school, or their boyfriends did.
There was Sub, who was also mute, and his boyfriend Ethan. Then there was Tyler, who had a stutter. His boyfriend Jason happened to be in my social studies class. Lastly, were Quentin, and Ian, who had a mild stutter and was recovering from throat surgery.
All six had come to graduation, and were standing in a small circle under the podium. When Ian saw us, he waved us over, causing Quentin to turn and grin.
"Hey, Seto!" he called, putting an arms around his boyfriend. Ian blushed and smiled as we walked over. Even though Seto was comfortable talking to the group as well, he didn't like it in public, so he waved and signed his greetings.
'Hey guys! Glad to see you here.' Only Sub and Ethan knew sign language of the group, which I found surprising, so we usually translated or guided the others.
"Glad to see you too guys. Can't wait to finally leave!" Ethan whined, causing everyone to chuckle and Sub to smile.
Unlike Seto, he physically was unable to speak, but was about to have surgery, so the group welcomed him early, to get him used to us. We're all mad here.
"W-who a-are th-those g-guys over th-there?" muttered Tyler, pointing over our shoulders. I turned and nearly face palmed.
Ty had Adam pinned to him, to stop him from tackling us, and he, Mitch and Jerome were making their way down to us, a hyper Adam in tow. I sighed.
"These are our friends from school. I'll introduce you." Mitch and Jerome came over and bro hugged us, while Ty gave us a nod, still wrangling Adam.
"HEY GUYS!!" he cried, grinning idiotically. He cocked his head to one side and pointed to the others, who were giving him weird looks. "Who are they?" He pondered, staring at them.
"That Ian, and his boyfriend Quentin, then over there's Sub and Ethan, and those two over there are Jason and Tyler." I said, pointing each of them out.
"H-hey..." Tyler mumbled shyly, Jason holding him close. He didn't really like new people. "HI!!" Adam shouted, making them all jump. Ty chuckled.
"Don't mind him, he's an idiot, and someone, Mitch, got him all worked up." He glared at Mitch, who pouted. "Hey! I didn't know it'd make him even more... Adamish!" Adam whined, and stuck his tongue out at Mitch.
"H-he's right... he is... an idiot..." Ian whispered hoarsely, rubbing his throat, making everyone but Adam laugh.
After about ten minutes, we were all told to take our seats. We were lucky we didn't have to sit in alphabetical order, because I was nervous as hell, and needed to hold Seto's hand - although it wasn't just graduation I was nervous for.
-Seto's POV-
I was nervous and excited and sad all at once. I was nervous for going up for my certificate, happy that I was finally graduating, and sad because of all the memories and friends I was going to miss.
Our names were called out, and when Brice was called, I stood and clapped, cheering loudly. He grinned at me and kissed my cheek when he sat back down.
He held my hand until my name was called, when he squeezed it and let go. I gulped and stood up, walking to the podium and recieving my certificate. I saw Brice stand up and whistle.
"Great job baby, I'm so proud of you!" he called, making me blush and smile. Mitch, Jerome, Adam and Ty were also standing and cheering, grinning at me as we all sat down. When their names were called, I stood cheering as well, grinning so hard throughout.
Once everyone's names were called, we went outside for the hat throwing. We switched our tassels to the other side, then flung them into the air.
As they rained back down, and the crowd of graduates cheered, I grabbed Brice's face, and crushed our lips together in a searing kiss. He immediately wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling our bodies close together, as we made out in the middle of a crowd.
I heard a shutter click to my left, and I pulled back, whipping around to see Brice's sister grinning, holding a Polaroid camera in her hands. I smirked and heard Brice gasp.
'That was hot!' she signed, taking the photo out and tucking the camera in her bag. I smiled back at her, and looked up to see Brice frozen in shock.
"B-Binky?" he whispered, a slow smile stretching across his face. I gently pushed him towards his sister, and sighed happily as I watched them embrace, Brice lifting his sister up making her squeal in surprise.
"C-c-calm d-down babe, y-you'll ch-choke her." I mumbled, coming over and hugging them both, standing back to watch them again.
I had found Bianca's email address, and arranged secretly for her to come to graduation. She was turning eighteen in a month, so could finally leave her oppressive parents house, and move in with her boyfriend, a Bulgarian mechanic whom her parents did not approve of.
I felt sorry for Brice and Bi. My parents may be dead, and my foster dad abusive, but at least they wouldn't hurt me like this, and meddle with my life decisions, tearing a sibling bond apart.
Brice and Bianca walked back over to me, linking arms. Brice's face was priceless, his blue eyes practically glowing with happiness.
"Seto, did you arrange this?" he asked, taking his free hand and lacing it with mine. I chuckled and nodded, gesturing towards Bianca, who had the same look of happiness on her face. They were so close, it's no wonder why Brice was having a hard time without her.
"I-I s-set up a-a f-fake e-email f-for you t-to... to c-contact her." I gasped, struggling with my words a bit towards the end.
I could remember the first time I spoke to Brice, the hot salty tears pouring from our faces, the amount if passion and admiration throughout the kiss, and the way we made love that night! It was as if I would die from the love and pleasure - I passed out after round four!
I giggled at the thought, and Brice let go of my hand, signing to Bianca about something. We regrouped with the others, introducing Bianca to our friends, and friends from group therapy.
All the while they were talking to us, Brice kept sharing knowing looks with them, especially Ty and Adam, who was unusually quiet and calm.
Before I could say anything, Brice pulled me aside and hugged me, resting his chin on my shoulder, lips brushing the shell of my ear.
"There's a change of clothes in the car. I'm taking you out in twenty minutes, so get ready babe, then wait by the car." he muttered and I could feel his smile on my neck.
I kissed his cheek and nodded, running out to the car and getting changed hastily. For some reason, I was buzzing for this date, more than usual. Something was different for this one, and anticipation was eating me up, as I waited for Brice to come out and drive us to our date.
Ten minutes later, I saw Ty emerge, a soft smirk on his face. I grew confused when he slipped in the drivers seat, starting the engine.
"W-where's Brice?" I asked, and Ty chuckled. "I'm your chauffeur for the day. Adam's taking Brice, so you can meet there. Just trust me, you'll enjoy it."
I frowned but nodded, looking out of the window as we drove. My confusion only increased as we pulled up outside of a small woody area, the sun starting to set.
I noticed Adams car parked nearby and smiled. He's here already. I turned to Ty, who was grinning.
"Go and follow the trail until you get to the clearing. You can't miss it." he said as I exited the car. I was about to ask what trail, until he sped off, leaving me alone.
I looked around, searching for the trail. I looked down and suddenly saw red rose petals, leading forward into the woods, in a little trail. I giggled and shook my head.
Brice may seem like a big tough guy, but he was a big softy, and a hopeless romantic at heart.
I followed the petals as they led me through the thicket, winding around until they abruptly stopped. I looked up and gasped.
The trees around the clearing were strung up with lights, and on the lowest branch of the biggest tree in the middle, hundreds of little silver envelopes hung up with purple ribbon. I reached over and tore one down, opening it and reading what was inside.
'The way his smile lights up the room'. I furrowed my brow, confused. I ripped down another, then another.
'Stronger than he thinks.'
'Loyal.'
'The most beautiful man I've ever seen.'
'The perfect lover.'
'The way he blushes when I compliment him.'
My eyes widened as I read them, sitting on the ground, reading over them all. I had heard him say the last one to me before. I realised that these were the reasons he loved me. I suddenly heard faint music playing, getting louder each second.
I stood up and spun around, looking towards where the music was coming from. I looked left and I gasped.
Brice walked towards me, playing a gentle melody on an acoustic guitar.
I'll be kind, if you'll be faithful
You be sweet and I'll be grateful
Cover me with kisses dear
Lighten up the atmosphere
Keep me warm inside our bed
I got dreams of you all through my head
Fortune teller said I'd be free
And that's the day you came to me
Came to me
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
I'll take you back where you belong
And this will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I'll love you more so don't be scared
When we're old and near the end
We'll go home and start again
Ooo Ooo Oooo, Ooo Ooo Oooo
I felt tears prick my eyes and Brice smiled, bumping me with his hip playfully, making me giggle.
I caught you burnin' photographs
Like that could save you from your past
History is like gravity
It holds you down away from me
You and me, we've both got sins
I don't care about where you've been
Don't be sad and don't explain
This is where we start again
Start again
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
I'll take you back where you belong
And this will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I'll love you more so don't be scared
When we're old and near the end
We'll go home and start again
Start again
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
Today's the day I'll make you mine
So get me to the church on time
Take my hand in this empty room
You're my girl, and I'm your groom
Come to me my sweetest friend
This is where we start again, again
Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
Take you back where you belong
This will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I'll love you more so don't be scared
When we're old and near the end
We'll go home and start again
Start again
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
When he finished the song, Brice set the guitar down and took my hands in his. "Seto, before I met you, I was lost, unable to see the good around me. My life has been completely changed because of you, and I know without a doubt that I want you to continue changing my life for the better. So,"
He paused, taking a deep breath, and I nearly fainted as he got down on one knee, taking out a black velvet box.
"Seto Xavier Sorcerer, would you do me the honour of becoming my husband?"
His hands were shaking and he was biting his lip nervously, as he waited for my answer. My hands flew to my mouth and I closed my eyes, tears streaming down my cheeks. I was speechless, completely and utterly speechless.
I looked Brice dead in the eyes, seeing the love and sincerity pouring out, and then I knew my answer.
I nodded, unable to speak, still shaking, staring unblinkingly into Brice's eyes. His eyes widened, and a huge grin engulfed his face.
He leapt up and I flung my arms around him, kissing every part of his face I could reach. We were both trembling as he slipped the ring onto my finger, a beautiful silver and amethyst band, hot tears in our eyes, but nothing else mattered other than the love of my life was now my fiancé.
Brice cupped my cheek, tracing my bottom lip with his thumb, eyes glistening, blazing in the dark evening haze, and slowly leant in, and I met him halfway, capturing his lips, and I swear to god, that kiss... there was no way to describe how deep and passionate and so full of love it was.
As I pulled back, panting slightly from lack of air, Brice rested his forehead on mine, a content smile playing on his lips. I beamed back, sighing happily as we stood there, swaying to the lost melody.
I heard claps and cheering behind me, and turned in Brice's arms, to see all our friends whistling and cheering, Jerome with a video camera in his hand and Bianca hastily stuffing her Polaroid back into her bag, arms full of photos.
I buried my head in Brice's neck, earning a few aww's from the others, and breathed in his scent, a combination of pine and charcoal, practically reeking of art.
"I love you Brice." I muttered, no hesitation, not stutter, plain and simple. Brice chuckled, squeezing my sides lovingly.
"I love you too Seto, my gorgeous fiancé." he breathed, voice cracking with tears of joy. I smiled into his shoulder.
This man held the key to my heart, and I'd make damn sure he'd never let go, as long as we both shall live.
