It's been a week since Gavin confessed to me. He hasn't been in work and Barbara and Meg have been giving me dirty looks. Geoff and I even got into an argument which almost resolved in us getting into a fist fight.
I decided that I should talk to him and get this sorted out. I've had more time to think over my feelings and I decided that I was gonna try this out. It'd just be a secret relationship that I'd test out to see if I liked it or not. If I did then I'd ask him to be my official boyfriend. If I didn't, then I guess it'll just be insanely awkward between us.
I looked up at Gavin's apartment. Nervousness was swelling in my stomach and I really hoped he wouldn't be a mess.
I got out of my car and started up to Gavin's apartment. Each step brought a while new wave of nervousness to my stomach and by the time I stood in front of Gavin's apartment door, I thought I was gonna get sick.
I knocked and heard shuffling. I started breathing deeply as the urge to throw up became more and more overwhelming. When the door finally opened I felt my heart drop.
Gavin wasn't doing too well. His stubble wasn't exactly stubble anymore. It was more of a developing beard. He had dark circles under his eyes and his actual eyes were glazed and droopy. His hair was messy, messier than normal and a little greasy. His cheeks had tear stains on them and I noticed a few tears still running down his face.
The moment he realized it was me, he quickly wiped away the tears and tried for a smile.
"Hey, Mi-cool. What are you doing here?" Gavin asked me. I didn't know what to do so I just hugged him. I hugged him as tight as I could and I heard him start to sob again.
The first thing I noticed about him was how unbelievably skinny he was. I could feel his bones very easily on his body. Had he not eaten since he confessed?
I felt him start to wobble a little in my grasp and I picked him up and carried him to his couch. It was dark but I knew Gavin's apartment well enough to be able to navigate in the dark.
I laid him down on the couch and he instantly pointed to a trashcan on the ground. I picked it up and gave it to him and he ended up getting sick into it. I rubbed his back soothingly while he got sick.
When he finished I got up and put the trashcan in the shower. I quickly rinsed it out and placed it by the couch again.
Gavin leaned back and I noticed he was crying again. I sat down next to him and pulled him into my embrace.
"Gavin... I'm so sorry. I wish I could've been honest with you in the first place. I'm so sorry I did this to you," I told him. Gavin shook his head and began sobbing loudly into me.
"Gavin, I really like you, okay? I didn't tell you because I wasn't ready to admit to myself that I liked you. But now, seeing you like this, I wish I did tell you how I felt. So Gavin, I want to ask you something," I started. Gavin pulled away for a second and looked at me.
"Will you go out with me?" I asked him. Gavin gave me a weird look.
"That's not funny," He told me.
"What?" I asked him.
"You were set up to do this weren't you. You're only doing it out of pity for me," Gavin said. I instantly shook my head.
"I'm doing it for myself, Gavin! I swear. I really like you and I want to try... Us... Out," I told him honestly. He sighed and I took his hands in mine.
"Let's try this again. Gavin, will you go out with me?" I asked him. Gavin smiled a little and nodded.
"Good. Now, why don't I make you something to eat and you go take a shower and shave that thing that's attacked your face," I told him. Gavin laughed a little and got up to take a shower.
When I finished his food, Gavin walked out of the bathroom. His face looked way better but he still looked sleep deprived. I gave him the food and played around with his hair while he ate. When he finished, I took his plate and I returned to him.
He yawned and stretched and I gave him my hand. He gladly took it and I led him to his bedroom and laid him down. Gavin smiled and curled up under the covers.
"So, when will we be going out?" Gavin asked me cutely. I smiled and thought for a moment.
"If you come to work tomorrow I'll take you out to dinner tomorrow night," I offered. Gavin smiled and nodded.
"Good. I'll see you tomorrow then," I told him. Gavin nodded and grabbed my hand gently.
I was kinda reluctant on holding his hand back but I did and I was glad I did. It felt pretty nice.
I gazed into Gavin's eyes, which were a dark shade of green due to the lighting in the room. I never realized how mesmerizing his eyes were until this moment. He had little flecks of gold in his eyes that I never noticed before. They made them look even more incredible.
"Mi-cool?" Gavin asked. I quickly snapped out of my stare and stood up.
"Well, I have to get back to the apartment. Mavrick's probably going crazy that I'm not there. Um... Good night, Gavvers," I said. He smiled and nodded. He rolled over and closed his eyes.
I couldn't help myself.
I leaned down and kissed his cheek gently. I felt his lips curve into a smile against my lips and pulled away. I walked towards the door and took one last glance at him.
Maybe this would work out.

The next day, I walked into work feeling more enthusiastic than normal. When I walked into the office I saw Gavin sitting at his desk working on something. I felt myself smile at the fact that he was back and looking a lot better than he was last night. Geoff gave me an approving look and I sat down at my desk.
Gavin gave me a quick glance and he brought out his phone. I put on my headphones and started editing the Rage Quit I did yesterday.

So... We still on for tonight?

I smiled at his text and quickly texted back.

Of course we are. I already have a really fun idea planned.

I put down my phone and continued editing. I kept stealing glances at Gavin as I continued editing. He was so cute the way he scrunched up his nose when he found a part he needed to edit out.
I suddenly jumped and threw my headphones off my head when I got scared from my own screaming. The guys stared at me with concerned looks and I quickly sat back down.
That was embarrassing. I'll probably put a warning in there for fun during the video. I did that quickly and finished the editing for it. Geoff came over and started talking to me about posting it and stuff. I quickly posted it and he gave me a couple more videos to edit.
I saw Gavin stealing a glance at me and I smirked at him.
That's basically how the day went.

I was at Gavin's apartment. I texted him to get outside, which he did after a few minutes. It was seven and I was starving.
"Hey," Gavin muttered when he got into my car. I smiled and muttered a hi back.
"So, where are we going?" Gavin asked me.
"You should be asking, what places are we going. I came up with this cool idea for our first date," I told him. Gavin smiled and I found myself smiling as well. I considered this our first official date. Wow.
I explained to him what I had in mind. We'd go to three different restaurants. One for the appetizer. One for the actual dinner. And one for dessert.
Gavin loved the idea. He thought it was creative and cool. I pulled into the parking lot of the first restaurant and led him inside.
Once we were seated, Gavin and I started talking about random things. Mostly work and stuff. I felt Gavin bump my foot under the table and I bumped his back. Before I knew it, we were playing footsie and it was kinda funny.
The waitress brought us our food and we quickly ate it. Gavin laughed when I choked on a chip and I kicked him under the table.
Once we were finished we paid the waitress and left. I started towards the second restaurant and Gavin was almost bouncing in his seat. I laughed at his enthusiasm as we pulled into the parking lot.
I, once again, led him inside and we were seated. This time Gavin took my hand from under the table and started playing with my fingers. I looked at him as he, adorably, moved them around.
"You have chubby fingers. You know that, right?" Gavin said. I laughed a little and realized he was very right about it. They were a little chubby.
"I guess I have to start doing exercises for my fingers," I joked. Gavin smiled and wrapped his fingers around mine.
We quickly ate our dinner and paid for it. We went to the last restaurant for dessert.
This night was actually turning out to be really fun. I realized that I actually really did like Gavin, more than I initially thought. I started thinking about how I was just testing this out and if I liked it, then I'd ask him to be my boyfriend. I was already planning on asking him by the end of the week.
We walked into the last restaurant. We were seated once again and Gavin and I just stared into each other's eyes until the waiter came by. We ordered something that we could share and the waiter scurried off elsewhere.
"I had a really nice time, Michael," Gavin told me. I smiled and looked down.
"I'm glad. I did too," I told him honestly. This date was better than any date I had with Lindsey.
"Do you think there's gonna be a second?" Gavin asked me shakily. I smiled and took his hand.
"Defiantly. There's no doubt in my mind that we'll have a second, Gavvers," I told him. Gavin smiled and squeezed my hand. I squeezed back and ran my fingers over his skin.
The waiter returned with our dessert and Gavin and I started to eat it. I held up my fork that had a bite of cake on it for him. Gavin smiled and did the same with me. We both ate at the same time and I felt myself blushing like crazy.
Once we were finished, we paid and walked back out to the car. We got in and I started driving to the park.
"Wanna go for a walk?" I asked him. It was around ten and the park would be basically empty. Gavin nodded and I grabbed two beers from the back seat. I handed one to him and we got out, popping open the beers.
We walked down the sidewalk, hand in hand. Gavin leaned against me and I let go of his hand to wrap an arm around his shoulders. Gavin and I both sighed in content and I felt my heart beating faster. How could I be so blind to the fact that I actually really liked Gavin?
I kissed his head gently and Gavin stopped. I looked at him for a moment before I felt his lips against mine. I quickly started kissing back and I felt sparks burst inside me. I was kissing Gavin. I was finally, after so long, kissing Gavin! I wrapped my arms around his waist and his arms went around my shoulders. It was an amazing kiss. Very slow and passionate.
When he finally pulled away, I saw his cheeks turn a crimson red. I knew mine were defiantly the same color and I smiled at his cuteness. Gavin looked down and smiled as well.
"Sorry. The moment was just so perfect and-," He never got to finish.
I lifted his chin back up and kissed him again. This one was full of lust and wanting. I grabbed Gavin's hand and pulled away. I started walking back to the car, dragging a giggling Gavin behind me.
When we got in, I drove to Gavin's apartment. Once we got there, Gavin took my hand and looked at me for a moment.
"You wanna come in?" Gavin asked me. I quickly nodded and he led me up the stairs.
As he was unlocking the door, I wrapped my arms around his waist. He giggled and finally unlocked the door. Before he opened it, I turned him around and kissed him again. I made it very clear on what I wanted and he complied quickly. He kissed me back, just as rough as I was being. He opened the door and he led me into the apartment.
Tonight was defiantly gonna be one of the best of my life.
