The Trial {Part 2}
Hello strangers.
It's been a while.
Sorry for the long ass hiatus but ya know
Depression
School work
I have to work
My home life is shit
In simple terms, it was the usual.
I hope you enjoy this chapter because knowing myself you won't be getting another one in a long ass time.
Oh and I officially tagged this story as AmaiRin to ward off any haters.
The difference between me now and me when I started writing this is now I'm too tired to give a shit and also when I'm tired I tend to not be as nice and very defensive. You may keep that in mind as you proceed.
So yeah, like I said I've been having issues writing about the trial. So the court case shall be broken up into multiple chapters. Sorry that this chapter isn't as interesting as the others. And it will be shorter, none of this 7000 words stuff, just little over 1000.

A lady stood up from her seat, she made her way to the front. Lady Proserpine stood tall and elegantly. Although something about her struck fear in the hearts of those who saw her.
"I say the offenders are guilty. They shall accept full weight of their wrong doings to our beautiful land. Punishment I feel would suffice...
Immediate execution."
(3rd person's p.o.v)
Queen Yuri, Rin, and the exorcists eyes all widened at Queen Proserpine's statement.
The exorcists could feel their hearts squeeze in their chests as their throats were being choked by the cold hands of anxiety.
The crowed seemed to agree as some nodded and others voiced their approval of her ideas.
"It is by our customs how we survive and our customs that make is so great and superior to other species who are lenient and feel they can bend the rules to make it by. However it is and always has been Gehenna's custom not to take rules lightly. A broken law is a crime against all our people. The only appropriate punishment for breaking the law, especially one of such magnitude, well is death."
Everyone cheered and clapped for her, some even whistled.
They knew it wasn't looking good for the exorcists.
Queen Proserpine took her seat.
Rin knew it'd be really tough to top her and and win over everyone's vote. Proserpine was almost as powerful as Satan and was slightly under Queen Yuri in ranks. To some she was of higher rank than Queen Yuri. Since Yuri only had power because she was Satan's wife. She had no real powers like Proserpine, who was once a goddess before she fell from the heavens.
There were a few debates between who those preferred, Yuri or Proserpine. There was also a few dumber debates like which was more beautiful.
"Next speaking shall be King Asmodeus." Satan announced.
A few people in the audience clapped and whistled as the King of seduction and lust himself made his way to the stand. He shot the crowd a dazzling smile, making a few girls, and even some boys, swoon. Getting people to fall victim to his temptation was his power after all.
You either loved or hated Asmodeus, there was rarely an in between.
Rin was one of those who hated him, he was so arrogant and narcissistic.
He watched as Asmodeus waved to the crowd and even blue a few kisses, he was acting like this was some kinda show and he was the star. Satan sat in his throne waiting for him to be done, but you could visibly see how irritated and impatient he was becoming. After a few minutes Satan had had enough.
"Are you quite done yet? I'd like to finish this trial today maybe." He said with bored look.
After that the clapping and cheering slowed to a stop. Asmodeus waved a few ore times to his adoring fans out in the audience.
Rin rubbed his temples in frustration, this guy gave him headaches with how arrogant he was. He glanced over at Amaimon who stood next to him, he was looking slightly away. It was bearably noticeable with his expressionless face, but he could see how annoyed he was too.
He wondered if any of the other royalty even liked him.
Asmodeus cleared his throat as he was about to speak, he could feel his nerves starting to build up. The trial was already starting off at a really badly, he could already tell that it wasn't looking good for the Cram School students. They needed majority vote and the whole audience and court judges seemed to have already made up their minds.
But then again, if the humans got executed, would it really be that bad? They did hurt him after all, they made his life such a living Hell, in fact, he was literally living in Hell now, and it was much better than his life was in Assiah. His memories from his time there was pretty clouded, after all, it was so very long ago. It was hard to describe, but it was like he could only really remember a feeling. The memory of pain, insecurity, and self loathing was still fresh in his mind. Like a fresh cut. He found him self subconsciously tugging at his sleeve and rubbing his wrists. His brows furrowed.
His scars.
They were all healed as if they had never even been there at all. When he came into this dimension it was like his body was completely destroyed and was then reborn. Which in away he was, for him to be fully demon his human half had to die. He had a fresh start, a blank slate.
With his new demon body it was like he always had a fresh start.
When he first came the pain the humans had caused him was extremely fresh, and the self hatred was still there in his mind. But every time he made a cut into his flesh it would heal almost instantly after; which should be a good thing. But it was like even though he was given a new beginning, the memory of his past life was still there with him, he burdens and pain carried on with him into his new life.
Even when he had momentarily forgotten his past, the memories never left, they were just suppressed and locked away.
This only goes to show you that you past never truly disappears. It trails behind you constantly, like a shadow of yourself.
But if the exorcists caused him so much grief, why was he killing himself to save them? How did he even end up in this situation? When they wandered into Gehenna, why did he let them stay with him? He could've easily turned them in or left them in the forest where the guards found them for the creatures of the night to devour them. When Druvish and Adrean, his two guards wanted to kill them, why didn't he just let them?
Maybe Amaimon was right, he was soft.
Sometimes he wondered if deep down he still thought of them as friends, but he had no idea why. Or maybe somewhere deep down in his pitch black heart he still felt some compassion for human life. That seemed a tad bit more likely than him seeing exorcists as friends.
Amaimon looked over at Rin and could see it was like he was having some sort of internal conflict. He placed a hand on his shoulder as a small sign of reassurance, but the small action seemed to be enough to pull him away from his thoughts.
With that, his attention snapped back to Asmodeus who took the stand.
The dark haired man cleared his throat.
"I" he started, the exorcists looked at him with worry and also suspense, the case already started off badly for them. "Would have to agree with her majesty lady Proserpine." Rin felt a sharp twinge at his heart as his breathing hitched, two demons of very high status already voted for the execution and their vote holds more merit than others. That is how it worked in their court, some opinions were more important than others. "It has always been against the laws of the multiverse for souls of the living to enter into Gehenna. It is even against the laws of nature. It messes with the natural order of things. Now living people cannot enter Hell. THUS, we must correct the wrong by making them dead, since only the souls of the dead shall pass." His voice held much conviction. Some people in the audience voice their opinions on how what he said had made sense. Others just made comments on how handsome he was. "Demons are all for justice and equality, but we are also all for traditions, and keeping things as they were for centuries. We have never let anyone who committed a crime off lightly, so we shouldn't let them off lightly now, especially a crime of this magnitude."
The exorcists were sweating, the panic on their faces were clear as day, they were practically shaking in their boots. They remained the centre of the court in chains and shackles. Large black furred Minotaur guards standing at their sides.
Following King Asmodeus several other royals spoke, and all said similar things. They all agreed that the exorcists should be executed and explained why they deserve such a punishment. And as each one spoke, the more and more anxious he felt. If things continued on this way, the humans fate will be inevitable. He only hopes that they wouldn't suffer that much when being executed. Although, that didn't seem likely either, Satan was known to have a bit too much fun while torturing his victims.
Now they were given a short recess, next up the demon kings would be speaking. His brothers. His family. And it was what they had to say that would have to say about the matter that scared him the most.
Not to mention, as time crawled on, his turn to speak approached on closer. He was possibly the exorcists only hope. If he messed up, both he, and the humans would be in deep shit.
Yes, there was also Azazel and Mephisto. But sometimes you couldn't really rely on Mephisto. Sometimes, it was hard to determine which side he really allied with. But these were his students they were talking about, he wouldn't vote for their execution, would he?
Even if he did vote for their freedom, who in this room trusted him? Rin couldn't even say he fully trusted Mephisto and be 100% honest at the same time.
And Azazel? Believe him when he says he loved that man with his whole heart and soul. He was his mentor, his rock, his therapist, his caretaker for decades, and his older brother. He was one of the sweetest demons, and that there lied the issue. Who in Gehenna sees an overly kind hearted demon, and takes them seriously? Yet again he was a demon king, so there was a possibility that they would take him seriously being that they had to. But yet again, that didn't stop people outside of Samael's kingdom from viewing him as a traitor.
And Amaimon.....
He could definitely rely on him for support. But he wasn't known for being the most mature of princes. He was also very young, both chronologically and biologically. Besides Rin, he was the one who stopped aging long before the other brothers. He stopped ageing at 19 and Rin at 18. The question was, would the court take a childish 19 year old seriously?
Would anybody who were actually on his side be of any real help? Could they alone persuade the supernatural court?
After the Baal spoke their mind, it was only left for the supernatural court to make final decisions.
Rin guessed that they'd have to see after the recess was over.
