Palace Of Darkness

"R-R-Rin?"

Rin had somehow looked much different now. His skin was paler, his hair was a much brighter shade of blue that seemed to reflect the light. As well as now as they had a much closer and better look at him he had aged quite a bit as well. He appeared to be taller and slightly more muscular and his facial features more defined. His eyes were such a bright sapphire blue it almost seemed to glow. His ears were more elongated, his fangs were sharper and his ice cold eyes priced through their skull as they could tell he was furious to see them here.

"How did you get here?" His voiced bounced off the walls. "No living humans are supposed to be here." Rin was beyond shocked to see them in his palace.

"W-we came through a portal." She answered. Rin stared at them for a good 10 seconds before rubbing his temple.
"Father's gonna have my head. Literally." He said to himself. "I suggest you leave now while you're still alive. If others sense a human is near, they'll kill you without a doubt."
How on Gahenna did they even survive the trip here? He thought to himself. When Rin came here the trip left him so broken he was unable to move. Iblis had to carry him to Satan's palace. Which portal did they use that allowed them, humans, to pass through so easily? Well, if the trip to Gahenna didn't kill them, the stay definitely would.

"You wouldn't let-let them kill us would you." Shiemi frowned with a worried tone.

"Well whatever happens happens, it's out of my hands." Shiemi gulped and looked away; Rin wouldn't try to save them? " You don't belong here in my kingdom, go home." He said with an angry tone. No mortals are allowed to pass into Gahenna, who knows what the punishment would be for this? They had to leave now.

"But the portal is closed, how do ya expect us to leave?"

"You'll figure something out. You can't be here, I can have you killed for stepping foot on this property." Yukio glared at Rin.

"Well of course you'd want us dead, demons are vile blood thirsty creatures after all." Yukio spat.

"You cannot come into my home and disrespect me!" His voice boomed. The shadow guards waited in anticipation, their lord was mad. Maybe he'd allow them to execute the humans, that should be fun. Rin took a deep breath in and out and sat back in his chair. Why him? Why now? He has so much to worry about. Running a kingdom, watching his people. Tracking down the being opening all the portals and leaving them open for all sorts of creatures to just walk in and out of dimension they don't belong in just like now!
Just when he thought he'd no longer have to deal with these humans, they show up at his doorstep.
He had to think, what was he to do now? Should he tell his brothers? He defiantly couldn't tell his father, that wouldn't end well. He'd demand to have them all executed and then punish Rin for having them in his kingdom. Would Satan let him off the hook if he told him he had no clue they would show up in his palace? He couldn't just let them get executed, no matter how much he wanted that at the moment.

"Your malevolency, what shall I do with the humans? Shall we dispose of them?" The group of exorcists stiffened, they all knew what he meant by 'dispose'. He messaged his skull as he thought; they waited for his answer.

"Take them each to the spare rooms, I shall deal with them in the morning." The shadow men were surprised by his answer, but they knew that it would better for them to not question their kings wishes.

"...right away, your malevolency." Two of the guards went on each side of the group and started to escort them.

"You should be grateful I spared your lives." He said just as they left the room. After that he sunk down into his throne. What was he to do? He felt he should tell his brothers but he knew their reactions would not be pleasant and it'd probably result in the death of the whole exorcist group. But he knew he should tell someone, he'd need some help.
He quickly decided that he'd tell Amaimon. He was the closest to him, and he knew he would not have a big reaction, if any at all.

~oOo~

The guards rounded up the exorcists and pushed them towards their room.

"What are you going to do with us!" Yukio said with a stern and angry expression.

"Is there an issue with your memory human?" The shadow guard said with a thick accent. "Dark King said to take you to a room for the night. Your fate will be decided when the second sun rises. You are lucky your pathetic lives have been spared. If it were up to me I would've killed all you humans with my bare hand. You are so puny and fleshy, I could squish you right now, it would not be hard." He kept his same stern and determined expression. They brought them to a hallway with many different larger doors. "This is where you humans will be spending the night. I hope you are grateful, our lord has been gracious enough to give you worthless swine hospitality." Yukio scowled at the guards words. Well you could definitely tell that they were not big fans of humans in this dimension. They showed each human to their rooms, each got their own. That alone could tell you how much room the palace had. They walked into their rooms and were instantly amazed. Their room was about the size of a very large studio apartment. It had a large bed with a king sized mattress, with velvety sheets and about eight pillows. The room had elaborate designs and decorations; and kept the same dark colour scheme. It had chairs, a large wardrobe, a dressing table with a huge jewel encrusted mirror that showed the whole body. Though there was no windows and the lighting was very very dim. The whole deign made it mysterious, dark and spooky, but also gorgeous. They all looked around their rooms amazed. Shima laid down on the bed letting out a loud sigh of relief. The bed was as soft as a cloud, much more comfortable than any bed he had ever slept on.

Yukio had to admit that the room was rather amazing, but he was nowhere near as grateful as the others and he definitely was not enjoying himself. He was trapped in Gahenna, Hell, demon central.
He was surrounded by the very beings he absolutely despised. He was completely on edge because he knew the demons didn't want him there as much as he didn't want to be there. They wanted them killed. They even said that their fate would be chosen in the morning. Who knows what they meant by that. Did they plan to imprison them? Torture them? Murder them?
He admitted that the bed was nice as he sat down on it, but nothing would change his mind about the place he was in. Demons were disgusting, vile, creatures who wanted nothing more but to torture humans and use them as pawns and play things for their entertainment.
He then heard a knock at the door. He turned his head and saw a lady enter the room. She had pink hair, snow white skin and black eyes. She was very slim and wore a skin tight mid length dress, which was customary Gahennan maid uniform.

"Hallo." She said with an accent, taking a slight bow. "I am Shae." She placed folded fabrics on the bed. "These are extra blankets and comfortable nightwear clothing, courtesy of the Dark King." She placed a small silver bell on the table. "Ring bell if you need anything." She bowed again and turned around. As she turned around Yukio could see she had two small bat wings. Her small broad heel shoes clicked as she walked away and out the door.

~oOo~

Shiemi sat on the fluffy bed.

She was very thankful that Rin was nice enough to offer them hospitality. He had her pretty scared back then, he made it seem that he would let the guards kill them, because he didn't seem to care what happened to them. But he gave them a guest room instead of letting his guards...dispose of them. Which probably means he still cares about them deep down, at least a little bit. Or maybe he doesn't really care about them and he was just feeling generous?

Either way, it was nice that they were all given these rooms. The room she was given was large with bright blue curtains. She walked towards the certain sand pulled them open. When she opened them her eyes instantly widened. There were two large windows, with no glass.
She could see almost everything out the window, and it wasn't what she expected to see. It was like a small village, there were town houses, markets selling fruits and foods unknown to her, and creatures of all different kinds walking around. There was a tall black goblin like beast with glowing yellow eyes walking around with a small basket of things that looked like spiky black apples in it. A small slender shadow like being slithering around. A bald purple man that looked like a little devil trying to sell what looked like some kind of food on a stick. A tall beautiful woman with white skin and thin straight purple hair holding a tiny baby who also had skin as white as snow. There were just like people they would find walking around in a market shop in Assiah, except they were all demons. This wasn't at all what she expected Gahenna to be like, it was like Assiah, but with demons and everything looked like it came from the olden times, almost medieval, but not that ancient.

She heard a knock on the door and turned around. By her door there was a slender, pretty lady with wavy blue hair in a bun and milk white skin. She had a tight black outfit and small black heels. She was holding a bundle of folded fabrics, she walked over to the bed and set them down.

"U-um, thank you." The last nodded and her dark red lipstick cover lips smiled. "Y-you look very pretty." She shyly complemented.

"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself." They winked with a deep manly voice. Shiemi jumped a bit and her eyes widened with shock.

"Y-you're a man!" She said surprised.

"Yes I am." He smiled. "I brought you clothes, extra blankets, and a towel. Can I get you anything else?"

"U-uh, I'm a little thirsty and hungry." She said gently grabbing her throat.

"Right away miss." He snapped his manicured fingers and a trey with food and a drink appeared. He passed her the food.

"Thanks." Shiemi took a sip of the drink. "Mm! This is really good! What is it?"

He laughed. "It's just some fruit juice."

"It doesn't taste like any fruits I had before."

"I also gave you some fruits in a bowl, I cut of all the spikes and needles, you're welcome." He smiled and walked out the door.

She looked down at the purple fruit slices in the bowl, she also had a plat of something that looked like purple meat, and a side of blue mashed something. She sat on the bed and started eating, the meat tasted almost like beef, and the mashed something tasted very sweet but also savoury.

~*~*~*~*~

Rin paced the hall back and forth, back and forth. This wasn't a good situation at all! What would happen if his brothers found out that humans were here? And not just any humans, exorcists. Not to mention the very same exorcists who betrayed him and crushed his spirits long ago. They would be furious, no, they'd be beyond that!
Amaimon was on his way to the palace of darkness right at that moment. He'd decided that if he was going to tell anyone about this, it'd be Amaimon. He'd give him advice on what to do without blowing up in his face.
He continued to pace muttering to himself.

"Wow, I haven't seen you this nervous since your coronation." Rin whipped his head around to see Amaimon standing on the stone window ledge.

"Amai!" He yelled in shock. "You scared the crap out of me! When did you even get in here? I didn't even hear you come in."

"I have my ways, now what's the problem?"

"I didn't expect you to get here so fast..."

"...well, you said it was an emergency.." He looked away slightly embarrassed.

"...it is." Amaimon looked back at him feeling slightly concerned though his face didn't show it.

"What's going on, is it something with the kingdom?"

"..yes, well...no. Sort of?" He looked at Rin confused; Rin took a deep breath. "Ok, if I tell you what's going on you have to promise not to report this to our brothers, and especially not father!"

"Why? What did you do?"

"I didn't do anything! And you have to swear to make sure word doesn't get out, or we'll have even more issues to deal with." He grew even more concerned as he watched Rin panic, he almost never saw him like this. He awkwardly placed a hand on his shoulder, he wasn't good at calming people down. He almost never had to, none of his brothers or demons he encountered ever really panicked. However, Rin was different from other demons, he was half human, so he felt human emotions like fear and anxiety.

"Uuuh, o-kay? I won't tell anyone, what's wrong?" Rin looked down, away from Amaimon. "They're here."

"Who?"

Rin looked back up at him. "The humans, from exorcist school. They're here!" Amaimon took a step back, eyes widened in shock.

"WHAT!" He yelled, his demonic voice echoing throughout the entire hall. He was taken back by this. He hadn't expected a reaction out of Amaimon, that's why he went to him first. "You let humans into Gahenna!" His yellow eyes glowed with rage.

"I didn't let them in Gahenna." His eyebrows furrowed with rage. "They found their own way here."

"HOW?! That's impossible! The trip alone would've torn them apart!"

"I don't know! That's why I'm confused! The trip nearly tore me apart! I was bed ridden after arriving, and I have demon blood!"

Amaimon let a sigh and turned his back to Tin trying to process the information. He himself wasn't used to getting this upset, he didn't know how to deal. "What- what are you doing about them?" He asked.

"Well, I was planning to keep them hidden here until we find a way to send the back-" Amaimon ripped his body around to face Rin.

"WHAT! You're keeping them here! You can't keep them here, if word goes around that humans are in Gahenna there will be chaos. Practically everyone will be ready to hunt them down and kill them-"

"I know! That's why I told you to make sure word doesn't get around."

"You can't keep that kind of information hidden, especially from our brothers and father."

"I know! But like you said, it will be chaos! They'd go ballistic."

"That's why you can't keep them here. We need to kill them." He said with a dark expression. "Before anyone else finds out. There can't be living humans in Gahenna."

"We-" Rin hushed his voice so others couldn't hear the conversation, they couldn't risk word spreading. He made sure all doors were shut. "We can't just kill them!"

"Why not?" He hissed.

"Because."

"Because why?"

"We can't just let them all die." A scowl spread in Amaimon's face.

"Don't you remember? These are the same people who lied, betrayed, and broke you."

"I know, but even them they don't deserve to lose their lives, that's cruel."

"Cruel?! Cruel is that even after all you've done for them they still would not hesitate to execute you. Cruel is that they tricked you into caring for them, and the betrayed you. Cruel is that the lied to you you're entire life and brainwashed you. Cruel is that they ripped you away from your true friends and family, from us! Don't you think they deserve to die for their actions, Rin?"

Rin looked down and stayed silent, Amaimon waited for his response.

"All of what you said may be true. But no, I don't think that they deserve to die. If I execute them all, how does that make me any better than them? All it does is confirm their beliefs, that demons are blood thirsty creatures who crave revenge. What they did is unforgivable, and I don't think I could ever truly forgive them. But I am better than them, I'm not going to kill them. Even though if the roles were reversed I'm sure they would not hesitate to kill me." He looked back up. "I'm going to keep them here until I find a way to send them back. You don't have to help me." He turned away. "But if you don't help me send them back, then you're only confirming that everything they said about us is right." He started to walk out of the hall.

"Rin wait." He said. He let out a deep sigh. "Fine, I'll help you with your, human problem. And I won't tell the others. But that doesn't mean I think this is a good idea. If we get in serious trouble for this then it's all your fault!" Rin turned back toward Amaimon with a smile on his face.

"Thanks, Amai." He walked back towards him and stood in front of him. "Now we need to figure out what we're going to do with them, and how we're going to get them home. Without letting word get around of course."

"Huh, and thought we already had a lot of things we had to deal with."

"I know." Rin sighed. "Well, looks like our work will never be done."

"What did you do with the humans?" Amaimon asked.

"I gave them spare rooms to stay in for the night."

"You're giving them hospitality too!? I would've just thrown them in the dungeon for the time being and told them to suck it up." Rin gave him a half smile and shoved him playfully.

"Now come, we really have to figure out a way to get them back home as soon as possible. I don't want them here longer than they have to be. And we already have a lot to get done they'll only slow things down like they did with the case." Amaimon followed him out of the hall and into the study.

Thank you so much for 20k reads.

2 vote Izumo x Rin

31 votes AmaiRin

3 votes stay single

7 vote for Rin x Someone else

I hope you know that like I said this ship does not revolve around relationships. There will be no lemons, and maybe no kisses at all, the most may be a hug or hand hold.
The pairing shall be hinted with cute moments between the two.
This pairing may not even be said out loud in the fic, mean Amaimon and Rin may never actually say their in a relationship or that they have feelings for each other. Sorry.
The way we will now is because when we read their actions towards each other we will think, is this really something two heterosexual men would do?

Izumo and Rin will be friends, for a while I wanted her to switch dudes but I don't know if that's what I'll do anymore.

So vote here

- Izumo stay friends with Rin and has good understanding of demons, but remains human in Assiah. So that Rin has a human friend.

- Izumo switches sides in the end, she'll most likely end up living in the Palace or Darkness with Rin.
