The next day~

Shura walked back into the class room, the cram school students turned their attention towards the door as she walked in. They were all waiting at their seats for their teachers to arrive. Today they would be continuing on with the mission. It was 8:30 in the morning, they had still been excused from all classes for this mission to hunt the demon.
"When is Okumura sensei gonna get here?" Shima asked leaning back on his chair.

"He get's here when he gets here." Shura responded lazily. Her eyes showed frustration at the mention of Yukio.

"U-um, speaking of Yu-Yuki, did he make up with Rin yesterday?" Shiemi asked in her soft and high pitched voice. "After their fight, you said you were going to get them to talk it out."

"Yeah, that didn't really go as planned." Planned she sat herself down on the desk and pulled out a flask from her pocket.

"Oi, isn't it too early in the morning to be drinking?" Ryuuji said to Shura.

"I don't know what yer talk'n about." She said taking a swig.

"And you shouldn't be drinking in a classroom, or just before a mission."

"Ehh, shut yer pie hole, I need this after yesterday."

"Shouldn't we check on Rin, after yesterday, I want to know if he's okay. Even if he doesn't really forgive us or think of us as friends. I still care about him." Shiemi said.

"We'll check on him before we leave." Bon said.

Just then Yukio walked through the door, the students their gaze towards the doorway. Their eyes widened in shock to see that Yukio looked absolutely exhausted. His hair was slightly messier than usual, he had eye bags under his eyes, his tie was loose and his outfit didn't look as neat as if he through it on in a rush.

"Well jeez, what 'appened t'you?"

"I didn't sleep well last night, okay?" He groaned.

"Ya look like crap. Maybe you should go back t's level."

"No no, I'm just fine. Are we ready to go?" He asked packing up some things in bag and loaded up his holy water pistols.
"Yeah, we've been ready for a while now." Bon said getting up. Everyone was ready to go and spend the rest of the day looking. It was still really difficult since they didn't really know what they were looking for. They haven't really been given too much information by Mephisto or their higher ups. But Yukio had assured them that they'd know what they were looking for when they saw it.
"Wait! We need to go see Rin first!" Yukio paused for a moment when he heard the mention of his twin's name.
"Right." Bon said. Everyone got up from their seats ready to leave for the mission.

They all headed toward Rin and Amaimon's room in the old boys dormitory. Shiemi wanted to see how Rin was doing after what had happened the previous day. The others wanted to talk to him after what he said yesterday. He had said that he never really forgave them at all, he just decided to put up with them to keep the peace. Yukio trailed not far behind the group. He felt kind of apprehensive about seeing Rin. What happened yesterday in Shura's office really got him thinking. He went back to his dorm that night with mixed emotions. Anger, confusion, uneasiness, guilt...

Those words he heard rang in his head all night.

"I was going to end my own life that same night I ran away!"

Rin was going to kill himself? Because of something he did? He knew he shouldn't really care. Rin was a demon, a monster, and he ruined his life. Heck, he even wanted him dead. He was going to even kill him himself. He shouldn't really care about his stupid feelings, if demons even felt feelings at all. He didn't seem to have feelings at all when he caused the death of their own father.
He shouldn't care at all about what happens to that demon. So why did it sting to hear those words leave his mouth?
Why did he feel almost a twinge of guilt to be the cause of his internal suffering? He was confused.
He spent all night contemplating this.
Demon or not, he didn't want to be the cause of anybody's suicide. Especially of someone he once held dear, however long ago that was.

"What's the matter with you?"

Their voices rang in his head all night.

"What happened to wanting to protect him? Didn't you say you promised Shiro that'd you'd always look after Rin? He'd be very disappointed in what you've become Yukio."

They made him feel nauseous with guilt.

They had reached the room that Rin was staying in. Shiemi knocked on the door and then took a step back. No one answered. She tried knocking for a second time, but still got no answer.

"Hmph." She tried opening the dorm surprised to find that it was left unlocked. She pushed the door open and looked inside. The room was empty. "Their not here." She looked back at the others. "Maybe they already left for the mission?"

"If that was the case then why did they leave the door unlocked?" Said Izumo.

"Mmmmm." She thought. "Becaus it's the old boys dorm house and no one else comes around here?"

"Even then they'd lock the door if they cared about any of there valuables."

"W-Wait, they didn't leave already, did they?" She asked with a worried tone. "We didn't even get to say goodbye." She pouted.

"Why would they stop to tell us goodbye?" She raised an eyebrow. "Not even I'd do that. If I was treated the same way about they were, I'd pack my stuff and leave without so much as a good bye too." She crossed her arms. Although on the inside she too was upset they didn't inform them before leaving. She had so many questions that didn't get to be asked because of the stupid feud going on.

"We don't no for sure if their gone yet. Let's ask Head Master where they went."

"Yeah, I agree with Shi, let's go ask Head Master where they went. That creep seems to know everything." Bon said.

Mephisto sipped a cup of tea while leaning back on his chair with his feet propped up on his desk. "Oh yes." He took another sip. "They're gone." He said with a cheery tone.

"What do you mean they left!?" Bon said with an angry and irritated tone. They were in Sir Pheles's office and had asked him about the two demon kings whereabouts.

"As in, they're not here."

"Well we know that but where did they go." As usual the Head Master was being a tad bit difficult.

"Away."

"UGH! We know but- where exactly is 'away'?" He sipped his tea again.

"Why is it so important that you know?"

"Because we just- we want to know."

"I can see, but why do you want to know."

"Why does it matter why we want to know? Do you even know where they are?"

Mephisto let out a loud laugh. "Of course, I know everything." He drank the last of his tea and then made the cup disappear with a poof. "But if you must know because you're just sooo curious, they returned to their home."

"What?" Shi gasped.

"Did they already find the demon?" Bon asked.

"Don't you worry yourselves about that. Your mission is canceled, you can return to your normal lives and attend your classes once again." He clapped his hands together.

"But-"

"Now shoo, I'm very busy."

"Doing what?!" Shura questioned.

"That is none of your business." He shooed them out of his office and closed the door shut with his magic. They were all left confused and with more questions than what they arrived with.

Minotaur guards pulled the ropes and opened the huge palace doors for the two demon kings to enter. They walked into the palace; immediately they were greeted by two servant ladies.

"Your majesty's." They said in unison and curtsied. "The other Kings await your arrivals in the study."

"Thank you." Rin said with a slight bow to show his respect and gratefulness. Amaimon and Rin headed towards the study down the hall.

A butler was there to opened the large doors that lead to the study for them, he nodded a thanks to the butler and entered.

"Little brother!" Beele yelled excitedly he got up from his seat and ran towards Rin and engulfed him into a big hug. "We missed you so much."

"Wow, I missed you too." Amaimon said with sarcasm. Beele rolled his eyes at him and let go of Rin.

"Did you find anything on the portals?" Rin asked Beele.

"Unfortunately not." He frown slightly. They took their seat at the table. All of the demon kings were gathered, all except Samael that is. Lucifer being the eldest of the demon kings sat at the head of the table. They were all there to report to each other their findings. Satan had tasked them to solve this mission on their own and they did not plan to fail him.

"So unfortunately I was not able to find a suspect in my assigned dimension, but I can assume that they were in search of something as there was signs of a foreign being found there." Lucifer said plain and simple.

"Same goes for me" Egyn said. "I didn't find a person or creature but they did leave some tracks behind, those tracks only lead to another portal."

"I found nothing at all." Beelzebub said. They looked at him disappointedly, making him frown a bit and look down.

"Amaimon and I found quite a bit actually." Rin said, they turned their attention towards him. "We found a scent trail that lead to an old shack in the middle of a forest in Assiah with all sorts of experiments and research on the super natural. We also found this book." Rin said taking out the old book the found and placing it on the table. Azazel took the book and looked through it, Astaroth leaned over his shoulder to take a look as well. "It has all sorts of information and research about all sorts of creatures and spells. We think that's what the person who opened all the portals was looking for. The author left a note saying that the book had valuable information that shouldn't fall into the wrong hands. Oh, and we also got a slight visual of the suspect before they jumped into another portal that lead to who knows where." They looked at them surprised on how much they were able to find.

"No wonder they wanted this book." Azazel said. "It has all sorts of powerful incantations and ancient ciphers and codes." He flipped through the pages. "It looks many decades old, and ...it appears some of the pages are missing?" He looked up at them.

"I'm afraid they got to the book before us."

"I see." He closed the book. "Well, this is a start. You've done good." Rin nodded, feeling a bit proud of himself. "I suggest getting some rest. Assiah sounds exhausting, humans are so frustrating and difficult to deal with, they never want to hear anything others have to say." Rin nodded again and got up to go leave towards his own castle. As he left he heard the murmurs of the other kings conversation.
