Gehenna (part 1)
During mine Hiatus an idea hath strucketh me!

The exorcists found themselves waking up surrounded by warmth and comfort on a bed as soft and fluffy as the clouds in the sky above.
They snuggled into the soft material not ready to get up and face the day.
And then as if on cue all of their eyes shot open as suddenly the memory of yesterday's events flooded back into their minds. Now fully aware of their current situation. They were in Hell. Trapped in a castle. Surrounded by dark beings, who want nothing more but to torture their body, mind and souls.
They looked down at themselves confused on where their original clothes went. Then remembering how they were each given pajamas. The night clothes were made out of a silk-like material. Soft and smooth.
Getting out of bed each at their own time. They noticed that there was a pile near their bedside along with a note and another tray of food.
The note read that fresh clothing was lent to each and every one of them. Because the clothes they came in were soiled and being washed. They were given breakfast in a tray resting by their bedside. Lastly they were all forbidden from exiting the castle until further notice.
They all ate their breakfast which was some sort of warm dark red liquid that left a strange taste on their tongues. Some kind of bright green fruit that had the texture of a pear, and a roll of bread. They all got changed into the clothes given to them. Once they put them on they noticed how strangely they looked. Almost like some kind of costume.

A/N: That's not their outfits, but think about the type of clothing the Vk's would wear. Just something wicked and abnormal yet cool.
I just googled descendants Vk OCs.
Maybe something evil yet fancy since its the dark castles staff lending them clothing. Which was bought from somewhere in Gehenna.
~~~
They weren't in any place to complain since these were the only articles of clothing they had at the moment. It was that, wear silk pajamas all day, or go naked.
Shiemi got changed into her hot pink outfit which she was surprised they had available in Gahenna. It had a mini skirt, with some skin tight pants underneath to cover herself up. She was also given a super tight T-shirt, which was most likely only tight on her because of her large chest area. And a magenta jacket to go over top that ended just above her knees. She was also given fake horns which was probably some poor disguise to help her blend in. She figured it was so the others in the castle would be less irritated by the sight of a human. Although she was sure everyone in the castle knew of their mortal visitors. She put on the horns and looked at herself in the mirror. Giggling at how cute the horns looked on her.
After a long time of staying in her room and just looking around at all the unique items she soon got bored. She didn't know if she was to stay in her room too, or if she was allowed to explore the castle grounds. She went and looked out the window, frowning in confusion at how dark it was. Did she sleep all day? Or was it just stormy? She searched the room for a clock but couldn't find any.
She decided to visit the others in their rooms. She walked across the room and knocked on the door.
A few seconds later the large door was opened by a rather annoyed Izumo.
"Oh, its you. What do you want?"
"M-Mrs. Kamiki!" Shiemi's eyes widened and her cheeks tinted a little pink. Izumo stood before her wearing a long, simple but elegant looking black gown.
"What?!" Izumo said frustrated with flushed cheeks and an angry look on her face. "Stop staring already!"
"You look so pretty! I've never seen you all dressed up before!" She said with a shocked face. "I'm just a little surprised!"
"You act like I've never dressed up before." She crossed her arms looking away.
Shima then walked out of his guest room smoothing out his clothing with a smirk. "Wow look at these clothes! They look pretty cool! And great on me might I add." He said flashing a smile at the girls. Izumo just rolled her eyes at him with her arms still crossed. His eyes widened once they landed on Izumo, "wow, Kamiki, looking good! Decided to dress all fancy did ya?" He raised an eyebrow with a smirk.
"I didn't choose this outfit!" She raised her voice in annoyance and frustration. "It's the only clothing they left for me! It's not like I had a choice!"
Then Bon walked out of the room, his outfit had a grey shirt and a black leathery vest with spikes all over the collar and lapels. "What's with these ridiculous outfits?" he said.
"I think they look good." Shima said popping his purple collar.
"They look like Halloween costumes!"
"I know! Isn't it great!?" He responded with a huge grin.
"Well, what do you expect. We're in Gahenna. And Halloween was originally a holiday to celebrate and worship demons, so of course Halloween costumes look like what they would wear on a daily basis." She said matter-of-factly.
"Wow, you seem to know a lot about demon's Miss Kamiki." Shiemi said with her green eyes wide.
"Well yeah. We're exorcists. We're supposed to know a lot about demons. That's the problem with everybody else. They call themselves exorcists but seem to know nothing about demons or their culture." Shiemi felt embarrassed for even asking, the answer seemed so obvious.
"It seems kinda funny that we're learning about demons but we never learned about Gehenna, huh?" Shiemi nervously laughed, almost trying to find the words to redeem herself. "Gehenna isn't really what I thought it would be..." She played with her fingers looking down. "It's almost like they left out bits and pieces about demons and their culture on purpose." She looked back up at Izumo. "How do you know so much about demons Miss Kamiki? You seem to know way more about them than the rest of us do."
Izumo tensed up a bit at the question.
"I do my research. That's all." She said looking away.
"W-w-where do-do you find all the information. It doesn't seem to be in the texts books." Miwa spoke up. They all looked at him just no noticing his presence.
"Yeah Izumo, I'd like to know that too. You're always acting like the expert on demons." Shima said.
"I just know the right places to look. And I have common sense. I'm not dense like the rest of you! I'm sure if you wanted find information about demons you'd actually go about trying to find accurate information. You can't rely on the stuff they tell you in text books. It's not up to date and it's very filtered. If text books were accurate, then we would've known about Rin being a demon king for these last two years. We would've known about Gehenna having three Suns. We would've recognized the different species of demons that were all walking outside. You also can't rely on our higher ups for information. They're just dense as the rest of you." Izumo turned away from them. "Oh, also, about me acting like a "demons expert". We're training to be exorcists. All of us are supposed to be demon experts by now."
There was a long silence as they thought about what she said. She was right. They shouldn't have been so surprised by everything when they arrived in Gahenna. They should've known just about everything about demons and Gahenna by now. And it was kind of sketchy how they never read about anything about Gahenna besides its the mirror world to Assiah. That it's filled with demons instead of humans and ruled by the beast named Satan. It was also sketchy how they were never told about there being a demon king of darkness. What else did they not know about demons? It was then Bon had an oh so wonderful idea!
"Hey, I'd hate to admit it but you're actually right. We really don't know as much about demons as we thought.... Which is why we should find out more while we're here."
"W-what are you saying Bon?" Konekomaru said with a worried tone.
"We should make the best out of our current situation and use this as a learning experience."
"I don't like where this is going-" Konekomaru cut in, though Bon paid him no mind.
"Let's go exploring. I'm not about to stay locked up in my room for how ever long it takes for them to come up with a way to get us outta this place."
Shura then came out of her room stretching her arms and back and Yukio came out of his room shortly after hear the sound of everyone voices from the outside of the guest room.
Shura's outfit was revealing, but surprisingly not as revealing as her usual outfit. She had tight black short shorts. And red shirt made if a thick material like leather that only showed some of her belly.
They noticed that all of their clothing, excepts Izumo's gown, was kind of stiff almost like it had built in armour. Which worried them, Gahenna must really be a dangerous place if armour was built into all of their casual clothes. Yukio was however still wearing his exorcist uniform however.
"How come sensei doesn't have a cool outfit? Didn't you get one?"
"I refused to accept anything those demons give me."
"So what? You're just gonna starve and wear the same thing everyday until you go home?" Izumo raised an eyebrow.
"How do you know the food their feeding us isn't contaminated? Or poisoned. You saw how those guards all wanted us dead."
"Man..I think you're just being paranoid Okumura-sensei. The food actually wasn't half bad either."
"Y-yeah. And I remember Rin specifically ordered them not to kill us Yuki-chan." Shiemi said.
"It doesn't matter what Rin said." He spoke his brothers name with venom. "He could've been lying, or went back on his word. Or his servants could've just ignored what he said, and they're trying to 'dispose' of us anyways."
"I think the kids right about you bein' paranoid, four eyes." Shura said. "Did ya sleep well last night? Because I slept like a baby with those softy mattresses." She turned to the students. "Anyhow, what're all of you guys doin' out here in the hallway?" She asked.
"We're going to go explore the rest of the kingdom." Bon said. "As a learning experience." He added. "Since we're going to be working with demons and all, we figured we'd learn more about they're environment first hand." He spoke of the educational experience they'd have in order to better convince the teachers. "Since we're already here, we might as well use our time here to our advantage."
"Nope. Definitely not." Yukio said flat out.
"I-I didn't agree to this." Konekomaru stuttered.
"Eh, why not." Shura shrugged. "As long as we supervise ya."
"They said specifically not to leave these castle walls! Everything outside wants to kill us, remember?" Yukio said.
"I thought you were one to never take orders from a demon?" She raised an eyebrow. "He probably only said that to scare us and keep us trapped here. And besides, learning experience remember? What better place to learn about demons than demon central?"
"Plus, we can gather more information about the demons and anything they have planned and report back to the others." Bon added.
"So you plan on snooping around to gather information against Rin to report back to the higher-ups?" Izumo asked. "What happened to us wanting him to forgive us and be our friend again? He's never gonna forgive us if we betray him by leaking his information."
"It's not like that. Stop making it sound so bad. We're just gathering more information about Gehenna, and different species of demon. You yourself said the information they give us isn't accurate. So now that we're here ourselves we can gather more accurate information."
Izumo was silent for a moment, for once in a long time she was at a loss for words. Although she still didn't agree with them leaking any information they find. By betraying the demon race, they also betray Rin... He wouldn't forgive them if they reported back information about demons. She realizes that there's a reason humans don't know an awful lot about demons. Most likely because they don't want humans to know anything about them. If they know too much about demons, they can use that to their advantage. They can figure out their weakness's and use it to take them down. She herself wanted to go and explore Gehenna, this dimension was rather fascinating after all. The first time she ever leaves her own realm, and she has to stay inside the whole time she's there? She would just have to make sure that none of them get the chance to spill any information.
The group of exorcists all peered around the corner keeping an eye out for shadow guards. When the path was clear Bon signalled the group to continue moving. This whole situation gave Izumo anxiety. Knowing the others they would tell the others of their findings. How could she convince them to keep their mouths shut?
They quickly sprinted across the large room to the large door on the other side, leading to yet another hallway. They looked around in awe. The hallway was wide, tall and seemed to go on forever, the doors on each side seemed to come to a vanishing point. The Palace of Darkness was massive.
The name of the Palace seemed to suit it's given name as the hall was in fact, in darkness. The only source of light emitting from the torches mounted to the sides of the walls between every two doors, lit with blazing blue flames.
"Wow. It's so pretty. And spooky." Shiemi shivered.
"These same blue torches are everywhere." Shima pointed out.
"Blue fire. Do you think Rin's the one lighting up all of the torches?" Shiemi asked.
"Impossible. They must've found some other means of doing it. Last time I saw him he couldn't even keep one candle lit. Let alone keep a million torches lit." Bon said crossing his arms.
"Well he's had 200 years of practice. Not to mention probably a better teacher." Izumo pointed out.
"What was that ya little brat?" Shura slowly turned her head towards her, eyes almost shooting lasers.
"Well, who better to teach him how to control his powers that demons themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if Satan was the one who taught him all the things he could do." There was a huge silence at the mention of Satan.
Especially bringing up the fact that he was possibly Rin's mentor. They all stared at Izumo with look a look of "I can't believe she just said that".
Izumo noticed the looks she was being given.
"I mean think about it. He's spent all this time in Gehenna with Satan, he's seemed to have grown a lot in his abilities since then. I can't imagine anyone being a better trainer of how to use Satan's power than Satan. Plus he's a demon king now. Someone must've made him into one. I doubt Rin could turn himself into a demon king. Seems like something Satan would decide...." He tried to justify herself, although it was awkward with the looks she was being given. "And besides, Satan's his dad, he must've taken his son under his wing..."
Bon was the first to speak.
"All that talk about wanting to destroy Satan, only to suddenly decide to follow in his footsteps?" His voice showed no signs of anger, just shock and confusion. "The guy seemed the most determined to defeat him. He went to exorcist school, he trained with Shura, only to change his mind and become Satan's pupil instead??"
"Well...think about it Bon. We kinda drove him to it. One side is pulling him towards joining them and the other is pushing him to leave. The demons were telling him he'd be better off with them and we were also telling him he'd be better off with them! What side did you expect him to choose?" She walked towards him. "And he's not coming back to us either, because what do you know? He actually is better off with them! Look at all the things he has and how much he's achieved with the short time he's been gone. He's got a family, friends who don't tell him to die, an entire kingdom and not to mention, power. The only ones holding him back from all of this was us. Because all this happened to him as soon as we were cut out of the picture."
The others seemed to listen. "If I were given huge family I didn't even know about, a bunch of friends who stick by me, an entire kingdom and incredible power, heck, I'd abandon my life in Assiah stay in Gehenna too! And with zero hesitation. Rin basically won the life lottery. He achieved a lot without us. Training with Shura, months past and Rin couldn't light a candle, he got himself a better teacher and now he can light a million giant candles without being in the room."
"If I were given money, power, a better family and a kingdom I'd leave everyone in Assiah behind too." Shima said.
"What the heck Shima!" Bon glared at Shima.
"What!" Shima raised his hands defensively. "Have you used the beds? They're like sleeping on clouds!"
"You can't abandon your family and friends! Even for money!"
"But what if I have a shitty family?"
"You guys are missing my point entirely!" Izumo complained.
"You guys! Stop yelling! I think someone's coming!" Konekomaru whisper shouted.
They all started quiet.
The faint sound of heels hitting the stone ground was being heard. Someone was coming! They started panicking as the sound of the heels got louder, louder, louder. They moved faster down the seemingly never ending hallway. The foot steps just kept on getting louder, louder, LOUDER!
Until they came to an abrupt stop.
"Do you think they lost us?" Shima asked.
"Do you think you lost who?"
"AAAAHH!" They all jumped and turned around.
They were faced with a small, young, beautiful slender lady.
"Why do you all look so freaked out?" She had long, flowing dark brown hair with fiery cyan eyes, pointed ears and moles dotting her face. Dressed in a long purple gown that swept the ground, a darker purple cape that beautifully and gracefully draped over her shoulders, sparkling jewelry and a shiny silver crown to match.
"W-who are you lady?" Shura asked, slightly less nervous because of her non threatening appearance, although this was Gehenna and she didn't know who was dangerous and who wasn't. So she kept alert.
"You mean you don't recognize your queen?" She said with a raised eyebrow.
"Queen?" Bon asked with widened eyes.
"Yes. You must be guests then from another dimension. Are you members of the unseelie court? If so you're in the wrong kingdom buddy. You must be confused by the darkness and the large forest surrounding the castle. King Beelzebub's castle is also surrounded by a large forest with weird looking trees. You want insect kingdom. You know how those large bugs like their large plants. I don't care for his kingdom, I like to bug him by calling his palace the roach castle." She laughed. "Get it, bug him. Hehehehe. Because, because...because it's full of bugs." She noticed the weren't laughing. "Why does no one here have a sense of humour?" She said to herself.
"U-um. We aren't members of the unseelie court. We're actually guests of...King..Rin?" Shiemi said.
The stood silent for a few moments before lighting up.
"I didn't know my son had friends other than his siblings! Well why didn't you just say so! I was actually here to see my son, I haven't visited him in so long... I was gonna see if he wanted to steal bugs from Beelzebub's kingdom and put them in Azazel's long hair during his daily meditation. I bet we'd get a real kick out of that. I like the way Azazel screams when he gets startled, it's like 'wwWWWAH' " she chuckled. You know the way he does that, 'wwWWWAH'" she was full on laughing now. "Oh and after I had to go visit Amaimon, I have list of my best jokes I made, it's my new mission to make him physically laugh. I've only witnessed him laugh once and that was at Rin when he fell out of a tree during training, and even that was just a quick laugh not even a full one." She sighed. "I'm a bad mom, a normal mom wouldn't laugh when their son falls out of a tree....but it was so funny!" She was in tears from laughing again. "It's it's not like he was hurt. It was just his face when he fell. The funniest part was that when he fell out of the tree he landed on my husband. "It's even funnier when Satan gets startled than when Azazel does! Maybe we should put bugs in his long hair too!"
The exorcists eyes were as wide a saucers.
"Y-y-your Rin and Yukio's mom?" Shiemi asked.
Yuri slowly stopped laughing. "Yes." She got serious at the mention of her younger son. Yukio's eyes were wide as he stepped forward. She looked up and down at Yukio as realization struck.
"...Son?"
Yukio was shocked, his mother who had died years ago was standing right before him.
"Mother..."
Everyone was on edge as the situation just got intense. Here was his mother, alive and well. He felt so much conflicting emotions. Confusion, shock, overwhelmed, joy, anger. Here was his mother, the woman who gave him life, a woman who was once a great exorcist, a woman who fell in love with Satan and was now the queen of all demons. He didn't know what to feel, so he stood there frozen.
Tears started to pour out of Yuri's eyes and she covered her mouth with her hands. She ran towards her son and gave him a big hug, sobbing into his shoulder.
After a full two minutes of hugging she pulled away wiping her tears. "You're so big now, it's been so long since I've last seen you. You were just a tiny baby when I passed away, I only had you for a couple minutes before I had to give you away. I never got you see you grow up. I never got a chance to raise you my own way. And now look what's happened because of it." She stepped away. I thought Shiro would raise you two right, and he did, I don't know where it all went wrong."
"W-what do you mean, it all went wrong?" Was all Yukio could bring himself to say.
"Because I wasn't there to raise you myself. You guys were put through so much pain. I never wanted you to work away your childhood. I wanted you to have a normal childhood, where you'd eventually grow up and decide what and who you wanted to be. But you were harshly shoved into adult hood. Why did Shiro do that? Why'd he put you through such intense training to be an exorcist at such a young age?" She was crying once again. "Why'd Shiro hide the truth from Rin? I wanted him to grow up loving who and what he was. Why'd he seal away his powers instead of teaching him how to control his flames and hide them himself when necessary? He was put through so much pain simply for being himself. It's so awful. Why'd they raise you to hate your heritage? It hurts that you have to deny what you are. It pains me you despise the other side of your family. I gave birth to you two...because I wanted to prove that demons and humans could coexist! I loved demons. They were my friends. As an exorcist I was trained to hate demons, just like you. But during one of my missions I got to know a special demon. Satan himself."
The exorcists were shocked and confused at the mention of her befriending Satan. "He was nothing like they had taught me he was. Some evil blood thirsty beast. He was just confused all this time. As a demon, a being that lives forever, he had no concept of life and death. He didn't know that once somethings dead it doesn't come back. So when he killed so many people out of anger....he didn't realize they wouldn't regenerate later like demons. He realized he knew nothing of humans, I realized I knew nothing of demons. And we taught each other about them each day. We changed each others perspective and became friends eventually. Since we, a demon and an exorcist, were such good friends, we wanted all demons and humans to be friends as well. We wanted to create a world where demons and humans walked the same grounds, were allied. Satan wanted to create a life instead of destroying one. We wanted to prove demons and humans could get along. So we had Rin." More tears were spilling out now as she told her story.
The exorcists were shocked at what they were hearing.
"The current paladin, my dad, the Vatican, the grigori, they didn't like that. They were furious at me, they wanted me to abort my baby. They told me I was possessed by Satan and didn't know what I was doing. They refused to believe I was doing this on my own free will. They didn't know Satan like I did. They didn't know anything." She was furious now. "The exorcists were monsters! I resigned. I didn't know how cruel humans could be. How, how inhumane! When it came near time for me to give birth, the exorcists, my own father, they were going to execute me. They called me a witch, possessed by Satan and were to burn me alive. The Knights of true cross and several other exorcists were all there to burn me to death. I called out for Satan, for somebody to help me. No one did. The exorcists were truly evil. The Knights of the True Cross, the heroes, were about to murder me for doing what I believed in and following my heart." She said placing a hand on her chest.
"They were going to murder my unborn baby. Just before they killed me, my husband came to my rescue, and he burnt all the exorcists before they could burn me. They all combusted into blue flames as be possessed them looking for the right vessel to save me, once he found a vessel he rescued me and my baby!" She said with a smile.
"The blue night...." Shima said softly....
"Still, I guess he didn't come fast enough because I died during birth due to my injuries." She frowned. "I never got a chance to raise you right and for that I apologize. There's not much I can do about that now, all I can really do is try to explain myself, and tell you everything. "She looked away. "I can't help but blame myself for what you did to Rin. If only I was around to raise you right, then you would've known better."
"It's not your fault, mother." Yukio said. "And Shiro Fujimoto did raise me well."
"Oh yeah!" She quickly turned around to face Yukio with an angry expression. "If he raised you well then my why did my precious baby try to shoot himself in the head!?"
Yukio way taken back by her outburst.
"He raised you to hate demons. He raised Rin to hate demons. He raised you to hate yourselves for what you are! You hate yourself for being our son don't you?" Yuri cried. "And you hate your brother for being the one to inherit your father's abilities." She took a couple steps back. "My poor baby, everyone was so horrible to him. No mother wants to watch her children suffer. Be stuck behind the sidelines while life beats down on her kids. No mother wants one of her own children to torture the other." She glared at Yukio. "A child's bad behaviour can only be blamed on bad upbringing." She looked away from them. "I tried to get my hands on you kids!" She made frustrated hand gestures. "But that Shiro kept me from getting to you two! I mean, obviously I couldn't get you myself. I died. I don't know if I exist beyond Gehenna. As a ghost maybe... But what good is that? Demon after demon we sent to come collect you boys and bring you home, but those stupid exorcists kept you away!" She snapped her fingers, making as scrunched up face as she explained how her plans got soiled. "We would just grew more and more frustrated as we watched Shiro explain to you how demons were evil and coming after Rin. And you need to protect Rin from Satan. Like, what the heck Shiro?! One day my husband saw an opening to come collect you boys and he went up to Assiah himself to get you two....Shiro sorta died in the process... I was kinda upset with him for that. Shiro's ghost was rather pissed off at me, as souls possessed by Satan get sent to Gahenna, which is kinda how I got here too... So far I only managed to get my hands on your brother Rin. He's safe at home with his mommy now away from all those nasty exorcists who want to hurt him."
Yukio was taken back as he listened to how Yuri was basically the one who orchestrated the whole thing. Satan, the demons constantly attacking the monastery and True Cross. It was all Yuri, trying to bring her son's home?
Because she felt Shiro wasn't doing a good enough job at raising him and Rin.
And Shiro's ghost was here too?!
"So the blue night, it was only Satan trying to rescue you, Rin and Yuki?" Shiemi asked.
"Suddenly I feel like crap." Bon sighed.
All this time, they never knew. They were told the Blue Night was the night Satan went on a rampage and burnt down Bon's people temple, killing just about everyone inside. Shura's brother, Miwa's parents, Bon's people. Now they were being told that they were killed by Satan, who was just trying to protect his lover and his unborn kids the only way he could. They couldn't believe it. They almost didn't believe it, but this woman didn't seem like she was lying with the way she was sobbing. They didn't believe, that their families would try to kill a pregnant woman.
Their families almost killed Rin and Yukio.
To think if Satan didn't stop them in time, Rin and Yukio wouldn't exist at all...
Bon also felt like crap. He'd been taking out all of his anger and frustrations about the Blue a Night when Rin wasn't even born yet when it happened. And to think that the Blue Night was them facing the consequences of trying to kill off Satan's family.
And what dad wouldn't try to rescue his wife and kids by an means necessary. They knew they'd probably kill everyone in the room too if they were all trying to execute their family.
He was just a dad trying to protect his kids?
"If it weren't for him, Yuki wouldn't be here." Shiemi shrieked and ran over to Yukio hugging his arm.
"If it weren't for him, Miwa's parents, Renzou's brother, and so many others wouldn't have died."
"Yes, but you would have." Shiemi looked up at him. "You wouldn't have been born Yuki! Isn't that horrible?"
"But was it worth saving me if it meant killing so many others in the process?"
"Those mean people tried to kill you and Rin."
"Yeah, they tried to kill His wife and kids, and they faced the consequence of their actions. They should've known not to mess with Satan's family. They didn't expect him to do something about it? Or to lash out?" Izumo argued. "Who wouldn't lash out at people who tried to kill your wife and kids? It's their fault they died, they made a mistake, they should've known better. We're sad they're gone, of course, they're your families, but what they did was bad. Nothing changes the fact that what they did was horrible. They got their punishment afterwards. What Satan touches burns instantly with only few immune to his flames, they shouldn't have been in his way." She turned towards Yukio. "Instead of being bitter at the way he went about saving you, just be glad he did, or you wouldn't be here. He's your dad, even if he's the demon King of Kings, either way, without him you wouldn't exist."
"Ok ok." Yuri cut them off. "It's not your issue, and it's all in the past. You don't need to start having debates about what should or shouldn't have been done." She gave them a small smile. "I also don't like that you're talking about whether me and my sons were worth saving or not. Makes us sound like our lives aren't as important as the lives of many others combined. Makes it sound like one of those questions like, which should you save, the 1 one person or the 5 others. Most pick the five others because it's not worth saving just one person's life instead of the 5 others, because more lives with be lost than just that one. I lives are equally important. It doesn't matter the quantity of lives. What if that one person was gonna be something great? What if that one person was gonna cure cancer?" The others were silent. "Anyways, you guys are guests of Rin. I shouldn't keep you back with my sob story. I shouldn't have told you all that anyways. It's just nice to talk about what happened sometimes." She looked over to Yukio. "It was nice to finally meet you, but I shouldn't keep you back. I guess I'll find Rin later, I just wanted to cheer him up. There's this huge epidemic going on right now, which involves the shadow kingdom so it's kinda his issue. Something about these portals opening up. It's really serious. The barriers between Gahenna and other realms is to keep unwanted visitors out. Now we find that someone is easily bouncing through realm to realm. We just need to take some precautions and find out who it is. It'd be terrible if someone were here to harm us. We wouldn't want another repeat of what happened with Thana."
"Thana?" Shura asked.
"Yes, this rogue sorceress, the incident was centuries ago. She was a member of the supernatural council. Our council is made up from the leaders of the demons, seelie and unseelie fae, the vampires, werewolves, wizards, and warlocks, the sorcerers, and the Elven folks. We all work together.....most of the time. The Angels were never apart of it because we're seen as unholy creatures." She rolled her eyes. "And humans never wanted to ally with us because they're stubborn and think we're evil, just like the Angels. And the Angels and Human used to be allied though, now humans are too unholy for the Angels too."
"May I ask what Thana did?" Shura asked.
"Thana wanted to do things her own way. She didn't agree with the rest of the court, or at least that's what Satan told me. She went rogue. She sent other to do her bidding and invaded the rest of our dimensions. Sorcerers, warlocks, wizards and maybe high level Drows and Demons are the only ones who can hop dimensions like that. Satan has the power to do so too but his body like mine doesn't exist beyond this realm. We'd need a vessel before we could leave. We're too busy to leave anyways.... But Thana, she's dead. The demons, Angels, elves, faeries, Wizards, warlocks, white witches, ghost, Ghouls, vampires, undead, werewolves, you name it, they were there. We all formed one massive army against the rogue sorcerers. We call it the Great Multi-Dimensional War. All demons learn about it as kids in school, it's in every text book. Humans deny that it ever happened, though even some of the few allied humans were apparently there. It was millenniums ago though. However, that's demon time, it may be only a couple centuries ago for humans."
"It took all those people to defeat one small group of people?"
"Well Thana and her people were very powerful. It was like fighting an army of 100 Satans I heard. We just want to make sure there will be no, Great Multi-Dimensional War II. We need to know it's just one simply going on some wild trip or someone who's plotting something against us. These people traveled to every dimension before they invaded. We've sent troops out to every dimension to check. Panic sort of started to rise when Rin and Amaimon reported that it looked like someone was searching for a sorcery and Alchemy book. The book was brought back to us, there was a DNA text on any skin cells from dust on the book and it looks like it was written by an allied human who fought in the Great War. Which....doesn't really sound too good in our case. We really hope one of Thana's disciples didn't somehow survive and we're just paranoid. Anywho, I'll let you go." Yuri said, turning away from the group of exorcists. "Oh, and if you see something suspicious, then make sure to report to one of the members of the Council." The walked past them down the hallway.
~*~*~*~
The exorcists continued to roam Rin's palace. They found many different rooms filled with many different things. They found a room with weapons of every shape and size, there was a wall filled with swords, scythes, axes, any bladed weapon really. To no surprise right down the hall from the weapons room was what looked like a torture chamber and a dungeon. Just being near it gave them chills, the thought that people were executed in this room. It didn't help that in the corner was the skeleton of some sort of horned beast.
Further down the hall and up the stairs was a large empty room similar to the training room back at the academy, except on a much grander scale and with many different weapons leaning on the side, scorch marks on the wall. Which must be where Rin comes to train. There were cracks in the wall and floor which look like they were all from impact. It made them wonder what kind of fights took place there. They walked past a room with three giant hell hounds sleeping curled up on the ground, they tip toed past the room as to not wake the beasts. They saw a portrait on the wall, which looked like a picture of the family. All the demon kings all grouped together, with Yuri and a white haired man in the centre, and all the demon kings surrounding them. It made them stop and look at the picture. They all looked very happy together, especially Rin.
"But who's that?" Shiemi pointed at the man in the middle, with long silky white hair, that looked slightly messy at the top, wearing a dark robe.
"It looks like family photo" Shima pointed out.
"It's Satan you dimwits!" Izumo pointed out.
"How do you know?" Shima said.
"Because it's a family photo! And he's the dad! Who else would it be? Some random guy who photo bombed the royal family's photo?" Izumo said, frustrated at their stupidity.
"He doesn't look how I thought Satan would look."
"What did you think he'd look like?"
"I dunno...red? With horns?"
Izumo face palmed. "Baka."
"He just looks like some guy..."
"Yes, and Rin and Yukio also look like ordinary guys."
"I thought he'd look scarier than that." Shima said.
"It's not his looks that make him scary, it's what he can do with his powers."
"He kinda looks like Rin and Yuki." Shiemi said looking at the photo.
"Well...yeah...he's their father."
"And all of the Demon Kings are Yukio's brothers!" Shiemi said with wide eyes.
"She had that many kids!" Shima exclaimed.
"No... The demon kings are much older than her, they're even in the bible, that's how long they've been around."
"So Satan married a woman who's younger than his kids?"
"Well yeah, he's been around forever. Just about every being is younger than he is. He doesn't age, and demons don't really seem to have a concept of time according to what the Queen said. It also explains why I can't seem to find a single clock." Izumo hated to have to explain the obvious to them. They were all studying demons, so why was she the only one who seemed to really be doing their research?
"You guys, we need to keep going, and be more quite if we're not going to get caught." Shura said.
They all continued their journey, they walked through the throne room where they saw the massive silver chair where Rin sat. Only now with it empty, they could see the intricate details carved into the metal and the blue velvety cushion on the seat.
Through the throne room they entered another seemingly endless hallway. They started to hear voices coming from one of the rooms.
"I just don't know what we're going to do with them in the mean time!" Said a muffled voice that sounded frustrated.
"We'll figure something out. Don't worry so much about it." Said another muffled, more calm voice.
Shura gestured for them to all move. They quietly but frantically ran through the hallway as quickly as they could. They didn't want to get caught snooping around.
Soon they found them selves nearing the end of the hallway, quickly pushing though the door.
They all caught their breath as they were all a good enough distance from the voices.
After a while they looked around looked around noticing that they appeared to be in a garden of some sorts.
"It's so pretty!" Shiemi said. "The garden of Amahara...." She said breathlessly "with a plant and flower of every kind."
"We left the castle." Konekomaru said.
"Look at this flower! I've never seen anything like it." Shiemi said excitedly.
"They told us no matter what not to leave!"
"How else are we supposed to explore if we never leave the stupid palace." Bon said.
"What!?" Konekomaru exclaimed.
"We already escaped without them noticing, let's leave!" Bon said already walking off. Shima, and Shura followed.
"I'm not leaving this spot!" He said.
"Suit yourself." Bon said.
Shiemi followed with Bon. Yukio reluctantly left knowing they were were going to leave anyways despite his protests and they're need him if anything went wrong.
Izumo nervously followed, more worried about the findings they'd leak to Assiah. Leaving Miwa as the only one left behind.
His anxieties grew the further they got away.
"Wait for me you guys!" His tiny voice yelled chasing after them as he finally decided that he'd rather not be left alone in the castle filled with scary demons.
Two guards off at a distance watched as they walked away.
"Should we go after them?" They said in their native language.
"Nah, it's not my fault if they get killed out there." Said the other.
