Admitting to Mistakes

(3rd person p.o.v)

As promised, Rin and Amaimon had went out for ice cream. Using his gigantic wings of fire while while lifting Amaimon, his arms wrapped around his chest.

They got a lot of weird and horrified looks when they saw a strangely dressed blue haired demonic looking man with fire wings carrying another screaming demonic man with pointed green hair soaring across the sky. Did they care? No. They were demon kings. Who was going to stop them from having their fun?

When they entered that ice cream parlour Amaimon instantly became like a five year old. He ran around looking at all of different flavours of ice cream. There weren't much sweets in Gahenna, and there was definitely no ice cream. So when they visited Assiah they had to take advantage as the different variety of candies and desserts. That was one of the only thing Amaimon likes about earth, the good food.
All eyes were in them when they got there. They had saw them flying and watched them land from behind the large windows of the shop. They were more than scared. The two young men were extremely pale, wore strange clothing, had pointed ears and fangs and had what looked like blood splatter on them.

Once they picked what they wanted Rin had ordered for them, his tone of voice was cold, serious and somewhat terrifying. When he ordered he sounded demanding, although that was just how he talked now due to spending years in Gahenna, years leading, and years participating in battle. He had to sound intimidating so now that was just how he was used to talking. It didn't help that his voice was now much more demonic since he unlocked his powers. There was times he had a powerful booming voice like Satan. He pushed forwards six metallic coloured pieces on the counter, it was what they used for currently in Gahenna. They were very thick and token like, and they felt weighted when you carried them, though most demons have a high level of strength so they wouldn't think so. The man quivered in fear as his shaky hand took the pieces from them.

"W-would you-you like that in a cone or a cup?" He stuttered.

"Cone please" He flinched and then got to work at making their ice cream cones. Once he was done he passed him the ice cream with shaky hands.

"Thank you"

"C-come a gain soon! Or don't. That would be preferred." He said the last part quietly to himself.

Amaimon ended up deciding on three scoops of ice cream. Cherry chip, lemon meringue and moose track. And interesting combination but he insisted on trying different and apparently unique flavours. Rin just got a scoop of rocky road and a scoop of root bear ice cream.
Amaimon immediately dug into his ice cream enjoying every bite. He looked up from his large cone of real ice cream (not that fake dairy desert crap you get down where I live at DQ but that good shit you get way up north. I don't know what it's like in Japan, maybe they have good ice cream too) at Rin. He had hardly you put he'd his cone, he only licked in the parts that started to melt and he seemed to be not entirely there.

"Are you feeling ok Rin?" He asked slightly worried.

Rin let out a sigh. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?..."

"I am, it's just. I don't understand."

"Understand what?" He tilted his head.

"Well..I don't understand why Yukio doesn't understand." It had been a while since Rin even spoke Yukio's name, or brought up what happened years ago. He thought that his younger brother was over it, but apparently he was still upset after all this time. "He doesn't seem to think that he did anything wrong. And it's like he thinks that no matter what humans are always good and demons are always bad. I don't get it. Even after I explained that I left for a reason, and that Shiro was the one that stole us from father, and that what he was told was a lie. He was still one hundred percent convinced that demons were automatically evil. It was like every word I spoke went in through one ear, and out the other. He called me a monster and a traitor for leaving even though he told me face to face that he didn't want me there. How can he not acknowledge that he did something wrong? How can he still believe he's innocent because he's not a demon and I am. It doesn't make any sense! He told me to go die, and it's like he doesn't remember that happened. It was 200 years ago and I still remember as if it happened yesterday."

"Hmm... That's because humans are very very, stupid. He obviously grew up thinking that demons were automatically bad and humans were automatically good. It's all he knows and all he ever knew so he doesn't want to believe that it's all a lie. That twin of yours also seems to be quite ignorant and egotistical too. He probably portrays himself as a hero, of course he doesn't realize that he isn't. That's all it is, stupidity. There's no convincing someone who's stupid or someone's who's arrogant and he's both. You could've taken my offer on killing him. He wouldn't bother you if he were dead."

"As enticing as that offer sounds, I'd have to pass. I'm not stooping to a humans level, weather I like it or no he is still connected to me by blood and killing him off would not be right. Even if he doesn't think that way. I'm a king, I need to think responsibly and so do you."

"Whatever you say, but the offer still stands."

"Thanks, Amai. I know you mean well."

"You're my little brother Rin. I'd kill anybody for you." He said with a small smile.

"That's very sweet of you."

"Well, if I can't kill him, my advice is to not let him get to you too much. He's just a human, he has nothing on you."

"What's gotten into you. You've been saying a lot of kind things to me lately. It's not like you at all." Rin grinned.

"I think it's because you're niceness is rubbing off on me. This is all your fault." He said looking away. Rin chuckled.

"But seriously, how are we supposed go work with them? They won't cooperate with us and I don't think I can put up with them. My patience has grown a lot, with the help of Azazel and our other brothers. But I don't think it has grown that much to point and can deal with exorcists."

"Easy, we don't have to work with them. This our mission not theirs. They don't know what they're getting into. We already told Onii-san so he can be prepared. That's all we had to do, not work with them too."

"That is true."

"Now eat your ice cream before it melts all over your hand."

*~*~*~*

Cram school classes had been cancelled for the next couple of weeks due to more pressing matters currently taking place.
Sir Pheles had excused the exorcists in training from attending their day classes as well so they could put all their focus on the mission. Though they'd have to pay the price when catching up for the weeks they missed.
This time was expected, and supposed to be spent making a plan on how they'd go about tracking the demonic energy source. Though the conversation on what their plan was had quickly changed into a new topic.

The cram school students were still hung up on the previous day's events, they couldn't stop thinking about what had happened.

Konekomaru sat in his desk silently panicking. They could tell he was nervous about two of the demon kings being there. He always knew that there was a chance that Rin could snap and kill them all, and yesterday that was exactly what he nearly did. His outburst nearly killed them all. He was scared of Rin for for his flames. His blue flames that killed his parents, and Shima's eldest brother, and burned Suguro's temple causing people to think that it was cursed. Those flames took away just about everything he had. Of course he was scared of those flames. They killed people. But after today he saw that it was not only those flames that were capable of killing, it was the being who weld them. He saw what Rin was capable of. He saw him and the demon king of earth nearly kill off the majority of Japan's exorcist all by themselves with nothing but two swords and pure strength. He had seen nothing like it, so horrifying. People running and screaming with bullets flying every which way. They shot at Rin non stop but no bullet touched him, he dodged every shot until they were out of bullets and then he easily took off and escaped with no consequence what so ever. He was a killing machine, and he was a couple buildings down from where he currently was.

Bon too was internally struggling. Struggling to understand Rin's choice of action. He got that they messed up, they hurt him and drove him away. But for him to willingly turn against exorcists and side with the demons? With Satan?? How could he go from being so determined to become a paladin and kill Satan as ridiculous as that goal was; to being totally against exorcists and human's enough to be so hostile and attack?
Why would he run off to Gahenna of all places, join Satan, and consent to becoming a full fledged demon king?! Why would he call the king of Earth, the one who attacked them a couple back and nearly killed them along with Rin, his family? It just didn't make any sense. He was angry, and confused. When Sir. Mephisto Pheles said they could ask Rin any questions since he was staying at True Cross for the next couple weeks, he instantly knew what he wanted to ask. And that question was why? Why did he choose the demons over the humans?

Shima didn't know what to think. Everyone was so upset that Rin chose the demons over the exorcists. No one seemed to be happy about Rin's return, or happy to see he was alive despite what Izumo had thought, that Rin had ran off and killed himself. And he was glad that that wasn't the case. When Izumo put it in his head that Rin was dead because of how they treated him. Well, to say he felt extremely guilty was an understatement. The thought made he nauseated like he wanted to puke and faint. That would've basically made them all murderers. Now Rin was back, and he had to admit, he was happy to see him. Despite being the son of Satan, he was actually good guy, and fun to hang out with and talk to. He remembered that night in Kyoto when they drank alcohol thinking it was juice and Rin had passed out drunk, he had to carry Rin on his back, back to a bed. Yeah he was scared of Rin, and he wanted to hate Rin, but it was difficult to stay mad when he had no control over his genes. He mostly went along with Bon, he was the group leader, and Bon seemed to really hate Rin. Though he regretted following Bon in bullying Rin, that wasn't cool. He low key thought it was cool to be a demon and have these crazy powers. Even now he finds it even more cool now that Rin is a demon king and has even more powers, and he lives in Gahenna with this demon family who all had cool powers like him. But everyone else seemed to disagree with him, they were all pissed at Rin and he found himself in the same situation where he too had to act upset with the blue haired demon.

Shiemi just wanted to find Rin and say sorry. Sorry for everything. For how she shunned him after finding out the truth about him even though he was her first real friend. For how they were all so mean to him that he was forced to run away. And how now that he's back they're still being mean to him to the point that he had to fight them. She wanted all of them to go see Rin and apologize and maybe some how get him to stay with them at true cross and rejoin classes, bit no one else seemed to want to see Rin. Perhaps Izumo though she didn't show it, all she did was talk about how they were in the wrong.

"We're going to go see Rin aren't we?" Shiemi asked.

"No." Yukio said plain and simple while packing up a bag full of exorcism supplies for their journey.

"Why not Yuki? If we don't see him then how are we going to apologize for being so mean to him?"

"There is nothing to apologize for." He said with an irritated frown. "Rin made his final choice. He chose to side with the demons. He is entirely different now, too far gone. There is no bringing him back so there's no use of apologizing. I gave him the option to return and redeem himself but he refused."

"But Rin is finally back! Mephisto told us he's staying in your old dorm. We can talk to him and tell him we're sorry and maybe he'll decide to stay." It wasn't like Shiemi to talk back. Even though she spoke in a soft in sweet voice, it want like her to push on when someone told her no. But she was set on apologizing to Rin. After he had disappeared she had made it her mission to find him and say sorry for being a bad friend.

"I don't know about that." Izumo said crossing her arms sitting on one of the desks near the front of the class.

"Huh?" Shiemi asked turning her head around, looking up at Izumo who sat on the desk near where she was sitting in her chair.

"I mean, I don't know about him coming back. Mephisto said that he's a demon king now. Now I don't really know how being a demon king works or the rules of Gahenna, I'm not gonna pretend that I do. But I do know how being a king works. They have a responsibility to rule over and govern over a country or kingdom. They can't just up and leave as they so please. Even if he wants to come back he probably won't be able to since he's a king. Though I'm not exactly sure if being a demon king is the same thing. That king of earth seems to show up whenever he wants." She rambled, as if she herself was trying to figure out how being a demon kings work. Perhaps that would be her question for Rin when she goes to see him.

"......" Shiemi looked at her confused. "So Rin's not staying?"

"No, sorry." Though she wasn't sorry. "And besides, why would he even want to stay? There's nothing for him here. He has no friends here, no family, no place to stay since he left the school, he looked pretty broke when he was here so no money to support himself. You were all horrible to him when he was here. Oh, and not to mention, in Gahenna, from what I see, he apparently has family, he's a king now I guess, and kings are insanely rich might I add. He hasn't returned for, according to sir Pheles 200 hundred years so it's probably alright there if he didn't want to come back to Assiah." She continued on, another question she'd have to ask Rin, what was it like in Gahenna, was it nice? Rin seemed ok so it must be alright. But he was also tougher and on edge, so was life difficult there? Or was he just on edge to be around the people who did him wrong?
Throughout the whole conversation Shima, Konekomaru, and Bon seemed uncomfortable, they hardly spoke.

"Izumo is right about Rin never coming back. He chose to stay in Gahenna, there's no point I even talking to him while he's here if he isn't going to change his mind and realize that he made a mistake. And besides, I don't think we would even want him to return. You saw how he looks with his claws and fangs, and how he acted to violent and hostile, he's not the same Rin we once knew, he's a demon. And he always was a demon, but now, he's a real demon." Yukio seethed.

"That's a load of crap! Just because Rin isn't going to choose to come back, and with people like all of you, it's better if he dose not. And maybe he may not even want to see us, or remember who we even are for that matter. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try to say you're sorry! Even if he is a demon! Or at least apologize for yesterday, because now he may only remember us as the crazy strangers who practically attacked him. But you should still attempt to make a truce because at least you tried. You guys are supposed to be the good guys! But you don't act like it!" Izumo exclaimed.

"Izumo is right, ya chicken butt." Shura spoke, she had recently walked into the class and was leaning in the doorframe of the entrance. "Whether ya like it or not Rin his yer sibling and ya should swallow yer pride an' say yer sorry. Ya may not realize it, but you're actually in the wrong this time. Ya treated Rin, yer only family left, like shit and chased him away. And ya don't wanna admit that it's all yer fault. Listen, I don't like that he ran off with demons and sided with Satan either. But you, my friend, were a massive dick and are still actin' like one. But you're too hardheaded to realize that you're actually an asshole." No one expected Shura to say this, though they should have, the drunken woman had a mouth. And she voiced her opinions. She wasn't wrong. Yukio clenched his fist, he was facing away from shura though she could tell he wasn't pleased.

"Just shut up." He said through clenched teeth. "You don't know what you are saying." His voice was laced with venom. "How could you defend him so easily? You're supposed to be exorcists. You're not supposed to agree with and defend demons. And that's what he is, a demon, the son of Satan to be exact. Rin made his choice, he chose to turn against all of us and side with the enemy. He's violent and dangerous. He's a traitor, and a monster. And all of you are defending him and acting like I'm the one in the wrong because he left. I didn't have anything to do with him leaving, so why are you putting the blame on me?" His anger started to boil over.

"I'm defending Rin because...because he was my friend!" She admitted it, she would never call Rin her friend, he was more of an acquaintance, Paku was her only true friend. But now that she thought about it that was what he was. He was her friend, he saved her and Paku's life from that demon in the shower room. And he always talked to her about his problems when she and shura were the only ones there to listen. So yes, Rin was her friend. "He was all of our friend, and he was your brother! How could you totally give up on him just because he's the son of Satan! Aren't you forgetting that you are too! You're twins! And just because he has the power, it doesn't make you any less of a demon than he is. How could you criticize him for leaving when you're the one who forced him away?"

His eyes widened. "I am not a demon! He is! And Satan is not my father, Shiro fujimoto was and they killed him. How could you say it was I who forced him away when he left in his own free will? I did not to anything to make him want to betray us."

"Is that what you really believe? That you did nothing at all? We all know that you're the most responsible for Rin leaving. Rin told me about everything, Shura and I. It was during his training to control is flames. With the candles. Rin was frustrated that he couldn't control his flames after he'd done it so well in Kyoto against the impure king. He got really frustrated and worked up and he ended up having a little melt down. With tears and everything. We made him tell us what was wrong eventually told us everything. About how you always call him stupid and says he's not ever going to amount to anything. He also told us how on the first day of classes you pointed a gun at him and told that he just go and die." Everyone looked at Izumo completely shocked. Then they looked at Yukio. Did he really do that? Was what Izumo saying about Yukio true? "That's right he told us everything, though it took a lot to get it out of him. He defended you a lot saying you did nothing bad. But what you did was horrible! Who in their right mind points a gun at his own brother and tells them to die?! And you never told anybody. You acted like you did nothing wrong. But you can't pretend to be innocent anymore because Shura and I know everything. You know, I think I have lost all respect for you as a teacher, and unless you come clean and apologize to Rin I don't think I ever will again!"

"When she's right she's right Yukio. I have to say I'm really disappointed in you. I actually thought you were better that this. I always knew you held grudges against Rin but what you did was crossing a line past simple sibling rivalry."

Yukio looked beyond pissed, it was like he wanted to argue against that whole long speech they gave about how he was in the wrong, but couldn't deny their words of being the truth. He was left speechless and the class took it as that what Izumo said held truth.

"That's enough!" Bon yelled, it was the first he had said anything in a while. "You guys need to stop this arguing about who did what right now! I know that we all messed up and we were all acting like jerks toward Rin. But there's nothing we can do about that now, it's all in the past. I still can't wrap my head around why he left us for demons, and joined Satan and decided to be a demon king. And I'm sure as hell not happy about it. But I think Shiemi and Shura and Izumo are right. And I can't believe I actually agreed with her on something," he muttered "We should go apologize to Rin and maybe get his side of the story too even though it doesn't make any sense. And Okumura-sensei, you especially need to apologize. What you was seriously messed up, he's your own brother, and you threatened to murder him. I'm not even sure that that's forgivable at all. That may be even more confusing to me than the whole Rin joining Satan thing." Yukio still scowled. "So I think, that tomorrow we can all find which dorm he's staying in and apologize for what he did, because like Izumo said, we should attempt to make things right so we can at least say we tried. So how about it, sensei? Tomorrow we go and try to right all of our wrongs, even if it may not be possible?"

They all stayed silent waiting for his answer. They were all going to attempt to swallow their pride and try to apologize for their wrong doings.

"You guys can to whatever you please and apologize to that demon." He headed towards the exit, but before he leaves he turned yo face them once again. "But I'm not going to apologize for doing nothing wrong." And with that he left.

Sorry that this chapter wasn't exactly the best. I feel like my last chapter was great. It was over 5000 words long and had violence. I don't think any of the others will live up to that one.
Sorry if the dialogues were too long

OK, I actually need some help now. What do you think they should ask Rin and how should Rin react?

So originally my friend was helping me write this by giving me ideas but they stopped doing that a little early on in the book so it's been all me the whole time. But at least the ideas helped cause it get my thoughts flowing on other possible things to write. So yeah, I need you guys to help me. I alone own this book, they started editing it for me though, I'd send them a copy of the RC and they'd read it and tell me if it were good before I published. And that helped a lot but they stopped doing that early on too.
