When you two are a couple
Sorry! Another Ed Sheeran song. His songs from "Divide" will come up a bit in this book. They are amazinngggg!!!!!! 😍
Enjoy!
Ponyboy:
"She is the sweetest thing that I know...Took my heart on a one way trip; guess she went wandering off with it."
"So...how's (Y/N)?" Johnny asked. He and Pony were sitting in the lot at night because they both didn't want to go home: Johnny because of his parents, Pony because Darry was stressed about work again. A small fire was burning in front of them, and they looked up at the sky together. Pony smiled at her name.
"She's real sweet. For a first girlfriend, she's...well....amazing." He blushed a bit and hoped Johnny couldn't see. Johnny smiled. His best friend had been really happy since he started to date (Y/N) even though things had gotten more and more tense at the Curtis house.
"You are some cute couple," Johnny remarked. Pony shrugged, but Johnny could feel his happiness radiating. Pony sat up to tend the fire. He looked at Johnny.
"You know when someone says that someone stole their heart?" he asked. Johnny nodded. Pony lay back down.
"That's (Y/N) for me." He smiled. After a bit, he said, "She can keep my heart. I don't mind."
Johnny shook his head at Pony's poetic words, but he smiled anyways.
Sodapop:
"Hands in your hair...I feel safe when you hold me near, love the way that you conquer your fear."
"Hey doll..." Soda kissed the top of your head. You swatted him away. "Hey! Someone's grumpy."
"It's six in the morning, Soda. Go away." You buried your head back into your pillow and pulled the blanket closer. He laughed a bit.
"Fine."
"Thank you," you said, muffled. He grinned and laid back down. To energized from waking up to sleep, Soda wrapped his arms around your waist under the blankets and buried his face into your hair. Your sleepily murmured in protest, but was too tired to open your eyes. He smiled and played with your (H/C) hair.
"Sodaaaaaa," you said into the blanket.
"Shhhhh, go to sleep, doll," he said back. You sighed but went back to sleep. You both fell asleep again with smiles.
Darry:
"Spent my summertime with her and the rest of the year the same...I'm not scared of...the thought of growing old."
< high school time period >
"She's here, Darry!" Pony shouted.
"Coming!" Darry came over to the door, buttoning his letterman's jacket up. You stood there in a cute, summery, {favorite color} dress. You smiled at the sight of him.
"Hey!" You waved. He waved back.
"Hi!" He turned back to Pony. "Ok Pony, make sure Soda makes dinner and (Y/N) and I'll be back soon. See ya!" He ruffled Pony's hair and then shut the door behind him. "Hey." Darry stopped to kiss you. You put your arms around his neck, going on your tippy toes. He broke away.
"Hey there. So...picnic?" You held up a basket.
"Sounds amazing." He picked you up bridal style and carried you into the car. It was summer break of your junior years, and you two had spent the past weeks together.
On the drive to the countryside, you fell asleep, letting Darry think about you.
I'm not afraid to grow older with this girl, he thought. Huh. He grinned. She's a keeper. Man, I love her.
Dally:
"She is the flint that sparks the lighter and the fuel that will hold the flame...You know hearts don't break around here."
"Dallas! Hurry up!" You checked your watch. Five minutes behind. Ugh. "I am going to leave without you!"
"It's a movie; you can wait!"
"I don't think you understand what a movie is!" He came out dusting his leather jacket off.
"Ok damn princess; I'm done!" You slapped him a little.
"What took you so long?!" you demanded as you two walked towards the movie theater. At this rate, you'd miss the previews.
"Two stole my jacket because he thought it was his. Then he got cake all over it and I had to clean it for this date!" he explained. You shook your head.
"Seriously. you took way longer than me. And I'm a girl!"
"Whatever. At least we're going right?"
"Mhm..." you mumbled.
"Is someone mad?" he teased. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders (as he was taller than you by a bunch) and pulled you close to him. You could smell the signature cigar-and-Dally scent even though the soap.
"Nope." You walked closer to him with your arms crossed.
"Uh huh."
"So what if I am? You're the one that took forev-" He cut you off with a rough kiss.
"There happy?" He kissed you once more. "One for luck."
"What did we say about cutting me off with kis-" He interrupted you again with yet another kiss followed by a cheek peck.
"Nothing. We said nothing." You told your eyes.
"You're lucky I'm your girlfriend, Dallas."
"Hey! What did we say about not using my full na-" You put your head up and kissed him.
"Nothing. We said absolutely nothing." You grinned and now it was his turn to roll his eyes.
"You're lucky you're my girlfriend, princess," he grumbled.
"I sure am."
Johnny:
"Daisies, daisies perched upon your forehead, oh my baby lately I know that every night I'll kiss you you'll say in my ear, 'Oh we're in love aren't we?'"
Johnny turned around in (Y/N)'s bed to look at her. They weren't doing anything; he just was staying over because of his parents. He had finally found a safe place, other than the Curtis', to stay whenever his parents beat him. He had a new bruise on his elbow and turning made him wince a bit.
"Johnnycake? Are you ok?" she mumbled sleepily. He nodded then realized she couldn't see him.
"Yes, I am." He sighed a bit.
"You sure?" She yawned a bit.
"Don't wake up, angel. Yeah, I'm fine. Promise. Sorry to wake you."
"I don't mind..." She fell back asleep. He smiled slightly when he looked at her sleeping position. She was wearing a small daisy crown that she had made when they were in the park that night on a date- she had forgotten to take it off. It made her look like an absolute angel; her hair glowing slightly from the moonlight streaming in through a window and her breathing soft. She had been very tired after their date. School had been hard.
He kissed her hair and the smell of fresh daisies wafted up into his mouth. They were sweet.
"I'm in love, aren't I?" he whispered to himself. She nodded slightly.
"Yes we are, Johnnycake. Go to sleep." He grinned and went to sleep, all the pain in his elbow gone.
Two-Bit:
"She is the lighthouse in the night that will safely guide me home."
"(Y/N)! COME PICK ME UP!" You held the phone away from your ear.
"Uh...Two...ya don't have to yell..."
"I'M NOT YELLING!"
"Are you drunk?"
"......maybe......" You heard party music in the background.
"I'll come pick you up. Buck's?"
"YEP!"
"Two! Please, for the love of God!"
"SORRY!" You shook your head and put the phone back on the wall.
"Off to go pick up my drunk boyfriend..." you said to yourself. You sighed but smiled. Two was the best boyfriend you had had in awhile. Well, he was the third boyfriend you had ever had so....
Anyways, you got into the car and turned the key. The engine sputtered to life, and you drove off to Buck's.
A few minutes later, you reached the party house and knocked loudly on the door.
"What do you want?!" Buck yelled, obviously very drunk.
"Is Two-Bit here?" You knew that you had to be a bit demanding with Buck or else he wouldn't do anything. He nodded.
"MATTHEWS!" he yelled. Well there went my eardrums, you thought. Between Two and Buck, you'd be deaf in no time.
"Yeah Buck?" Two came over drunkenly. You waved a bit, and he grinned. "Hey! My gal came!"
"Thanks Buck. We'll see you later." You dragged a waving Two out of the doorway and into the awaiting car.
"Thanks gal," Two muttered. He laughed at the nonexistent joke. He liked to call you "gal" when he was drunk. His laugh made you laugh a bit.
"So how was the party?" you asked. This situation had happened twice in the last week, so you were fairly calm about it all.
"It was great!" he slurred. You nodded knowingly. "Ya wanna hear something?"
"Mhm?"
"You're like a lighthouse, and I'm like in the middle of an ocean and you always save me. Ya know that?"
"Aw thanks Two. You're lovely."
"Wanna hear something else?"
"Yep?"
"Lighthouses have light made by fire. And if you're fire then..." He grinned. "You're so hot." He laughed hysterically at his weirdly said compliment. You smiled.
"Thanks."
"No prob gal."
"You're going to have such a hangover tomorrow."
Steve:
"You should see the way she holds me when when the lights go low, shakes my soul like a pothole every time."
You and Steve were at Buck's once again. It was your guys' favorite date place, as you two had met there. You both loved the dancing and the drinking and just being with each other. Of course, you had gone on other dates, but Buck's was your favorite. Buck even had started to give you two free drinks, a very rare thing.
At the moment, you two were dancing the night away. You had been ther for about an hour and a half already. All of a sudden, the power went out. There were screams and yells. Steve held out his hand and you grabbed it worriedly. He squeezed it, showing that he was not letting go.
"Everyone! Calm the hell down!" Buck yelled. The screams quieted. "Some damn kid probably just threw something into the wires again. It'll be back in a few minutes. Everyone stay put." There was a dead silence for a few seconds. You held Steve's hand tighter. You hated the dark. Oh my god, you thought. I'm going to die here. You started to hyperventilate. Thank goodness there was a dull murmur starting so no one could hear you except Steve.
"Babe? Are you okay?" He pulled you closer to him. You hugged him tight. "Hey hey it'll be alright. I'm here." You closed your eyes tight.
"I'm scared, Steve."
"I'm here, ok (Y/N)? Um..." He thought hard. "Let's think of a song, ok? Then we can dance!" You nodded slightly, not wanting to open your eyes. Steve started to hum a tune of a familiar song and started to sway. Since you were holding onto him, you swayed too. You two stayed like that for the rest of the blackout: dancing in the dark, just thinking about the other person.
These were just some short lil scenes. Hope you liked them! Don't forget to vote! 💖 Any requests?
