When you go on a date

A\N: How do you guys like these preferences so far???

Ponyboy:

"We are still kids but...darling just hold my hand. Be my girl, I'll be your man."

Pony waited anxiously at (Y/N)'s doorstep. After a few weeks of getting closer together in English and other classes, Pony had asked her to go on a date with him and she accepted. He almost believed that she hadn't said yes and it was all made up in his imagination. But she did! Soda had just told him to relax, and Darry said to not have anything or anything. Soda had laughed. It was Pony's first ever date, and he sure was lucky to have it with his old crush from elementary school, even if it was just elementary school.

"Hey Pony." He looked up in the doorway and saw her smiling face. God, she was beautiful. She wore a simple outfit with some jeans, a plain shirt, and boots, after all they were greasers.

"Hey, (Y/N)," he replied with a smile.

"Hey Pony," she said with a wave. "So where are we going?" She closed the door behind her and swung a small bag into her shoulder.

"I was thinking....the lot? There should be a really pretty sunset and...uh...yeah," he ended lamely. He blushed. She laughed a bit at his awkwardness.

"Sounds great! I love sunsets!" Pony grinned back with her.

"I got Johnny to set up something in the lot," he said. He offered a hand, and she took it. They walked hand in hand down the road, chatting about school and the Socs who kept annoying them as they were part of the few Greasers in the class.

At the end of their walk, (Y/N) and Pony saw Johnny waiting for them. He waved. (Y/N) smiled. She hadn't really hung out with anyone in the gang, and Pony hadn't tell anyone about her except Darry, Soda, and Johnny.

"You must be (Y/N) (L/N)," Johnny said. She nodded.

"And you're Johnny Cade?" asked
(Y/N). He smiled shyly then turned to Pony.

"Ok I'll leave ya two alone, Pone. See you, (Y/N)!" He walked away from the lot and towards the Curtis' house.

Pony gestured for (Y/N) to sit on the picnic blanket Johnny had set up. There was also some chocolate cake that had a note:

Hey (Y/N)! Welcome back to Tulsa! Enjoy the cake!
Darry and Sodapop

"Oh yeah! You have brothers," (Y/N) said with a smile. "Sorry forgot. Even though you've talked about them before. Oops." She laughed. Pony shrugged.

"No problem. I guess Darry made something for us. He's a really good cook. I'm surprised he's home though." Pony looked back at his house for a second and then sat down with (Y/N). There was an awkward silence while they waited for the sunset.

"So...first date?" she asked. He nodded. "Me too."

"Really?"

"Is that surprising?" She raised an eyebrow with a smirk.

"Uh..no...just...just..." he stuttered. She laughed and leaned her head on his shoulder. He started to blush again.

"All the boys at my school in Oklahoma City sucked. Which is why I was glad to come back." Pony could feel (Y/N)'s smile on his shoulder, and he put an arm around her.

"I'm glad you're back too." He leaned his head on yours, and you two watched the beautiful sunset.

~

"They're really cute," Johnny said when he reached the Curtis' house.

"Aw Pony's got a girlfriend!" said Soda from the window. He had been watching them since they walked into the lot. Not to be creepy of course.

"Leave 'em alone, Soda," Darry said. He wiped his hands on a towel. He had just finished cooking dinner. "Dinner's ready. Johnny, you gonna stay?" Johnny nodded.

"If that's ok with you."

"Always is."

"Look! She put her head on his shoulder!"

"Soda!"

"What?"

Sodapop:

"We were just kids when we fell in love, not knowing what it was. I will not give you up this time."

"(Y/N)! Hurry!"

"I am, Sodapop Curtis! Sheesh!" was heard from inside the house.

Since Soda had been your best friend since you both were six, he had no problem yelling at you whenever you two went out and vice versa. Today, you two were going with Steve to a mini-golf place to hang out and Go-Kart. Soda loved to Go-Kart because he was amazing at it thanks to drag racing.

Currently, he was outside your window yelling at you to hurry or else Steve would drive without them.

"(Y/N)!!" He sighed and started to pace. Then you appeared and climbed out of your window. Doors were overrated according to Soda. "Finally!" he said sarcastically. You gave him a glare. "Steve's waiting!" He pointed to the front.

"Race ya!" You started to sprint in the direction of the front yard.

"Dammit (Y/N)!" Soda laughed and ran after you. He found you jumping into Steve's car.

"Hurry up, Soda! You took forever!" Steve yelled from the driver's seat. You laughed loudly as Soda slid into the seat next to her. You two always sat in the back together.

Soon (which was pretty soon because of Steve's driving; also thanks to drag racing), the trio were at a small place just outside of Grease area. Mostly middle class kids went there, so there were few Socs and a couple Greasers. You three liked coming here, especially you and Soda.

"Hey guys," Steve said as you two got out of the car. "Sorry I forgot, there's a party at Buck's and Evie's making me go. See ya, kids." He pushed the gas pedal and left a cloud of smoke behind.

"He needs to stop calling us kids; we're all the same age," you said after a cough from the smoke. Soda nodded.

"Well...what now?" he asked. You looked around.

"We can still hang out right?"

"Like...as a date?"

"Soda...did you plan this to be a date..."

"No...." He cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Sods!" Soda put his hands up in surrender.

"I swear I didn't!"

"Mkay good." You grinned. "Wanna play at the arcade?" He nodded and silently cursed Steve.

A few mini-golf and arcade games later, Soda dragged you over to the Go-Kart arena. There were a few other kids, some kids your guys' age.

"Partners?" he asked even though he knew you would nod.

"You know me too well, Sodapop," you laughed. A bored-looking employee waved you two along, and you both raced to get car number 6, a blue Go-Kart that you used every time. It as a sort of superstitious-luck thing. You two clicked in your seat belts, and Soda revved the car gas.

After all of the drivers got in and the safety instructions were said, you felt the adrenaline kick in as the employee yelled, "GO!"

Soda pushed the gas pedal and the car sped off. Even though you had been driving with Soda for about a thousand times, you still felt nervous and excited at the same time. Definitely butterflies in your stomach. Soda whooped into the night wind, and you laughed.

Even though your car had started third, you ended up in first by the middle of the first lap.

Soda made a sharp turn, and you yelped but then laughed. He laughed along with you and kept pushing the gas pedal. By the middle of the second lap, Soda was lapping all of the other racers. This was why you rode with him and not by yourself.

The race lasted about five minutes, though it felt like forever. Soda held down a hand to help you get out. You pulled yourself up and you both laughed.

Looking inside, the arcade was closing up. You pulled up your jacket, and Soda put his hands into his pocket.

"I guess we're walking home?" you asked. He nodded.

"Steve." You laughed. Soda loved that laugh. You would always crinkle your eyes and throw your head back a bit. It was at that exact moment when Soda realized that he really was in love with you.

Once back at the house (the walk was not very long that was filled with random talk), you two saw a smirking Steve.

"Wait...I thought you were at a par...oh..." Soda slowed down as he realized what Steve had done. Steve grinned.

"How was your date, kids?"

Darry:

"I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know. She shares my dreams and someday I'll share her home."

You waiting anxiously for Darry to get ready. They got a reservation for a nice restaurant in the middle of town for their first date. Man, you were nervous. You had always had a sort of small crush on Darry after that dance class.

He was the school's biggest football jock plus he was in all your AP classes and managed to get straight A's. All in all, he was a small crush in high school, so when you saw him at that one dance class, you were shocked. And of course, the dance instructor paired you two up, even though you very much wanted to leave. Turns out, Superman wasn't as strong as you thought and surprisingly, you two clicked.

"Are you nervous, (Y/N)?" Soda came out from the kitchen. You turned to see the grinning blonde.

"Hey Soda. Yeah a bit. What if he doesn't like me?" Soda laughed then saw your face.

"Oh you're serious, (Y/N)?!"

"Yes, I'm serious!!"

"Holy crap, (Y/N)! Why wouldn't he like you?! You two have been friends for ages now, and there's nothing to dislike about you. If there isn't, I'm pretty sure that he doesn't care anymore as much. Like at all." You give him a small smile.

"Thanks." You took a deep breath and fidgeted in your skirt. You didn't really like them, but it was a semi-formal occasion.

"Hey (Y/N)! You ready?" You turned to see Darry in a nice button-down shirt with some slacks and a tie. You blushed at the sight of him dressed up and nodded.

"Have fun! Use protection lovebirds!" Soda teased as you two got into the truck. You threw a rock at the front door and he yelped. Darry laughed.

The drive was filled with music, laughter, and comfortable silence.

The restaurant was amazing. It had some of the best food you had ever tasted, not considering Darry's cooking. You two talked about Pony and Soda and the gang, about how you both were worried for Dally and his antics, about both your concerns about Johnny's abusive parents. This was one of the things Darry loved about you: since you were the second eldest (honorary) member of the gang, you had the same dreams and future and worries as him. He was able to talk to you normally and smoothly, and you were also such a strong girl, mentally and physically. You weren't afraid to step up to someone, and you weren't afraid of challenges.

Darry was in love with you and at that moment in the restaurant, he realized nothing in the world could stop him.

Dallas:

"When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath but you heard it - darling you look perfect tonight.

"Hello? Is this uh Dallas Winston?" Ponyboy heard over the phone. He sighed.

"No sorry. Did he give you this number?"

"Yeah..."

"Sorry. It's not his actual number." There was a pause. "I think he's over right now though. Hold for a second." Pony held his hand over the phone. "Dally! There's a girl on the phone for you!" Dally poked his head from the hallway.

"A what?"

"A girl. Why'd you give our number thou-" Before Pony could finish, Dally ran over and grabbed the phone out of his hand.

"Dallas Winston here. Who're you?" Pony rolled his eyes and went to his room as Dally shooed him away.

"Uh I'm (Y/N) (L/N). From Buck's two nights ago."

"Oh! You're that doll from the bar!"

"What did I say about not callin' me doll?"

"Not to. Whatever, man. Anyways, so you're calling me?" He grinned then remembered she couldn't see him.

"Yeah. Blame it on my friend, (Y/F/N)."

"I want to thank her. Want to go out sometime?"

"Sure. Where and when?" Dally thought.

"Tonight? Now?"

"Now?!"

"Why not? Where do ya live? I'll pick you up."

"Um..." You hesitated. Screw it. Randy wasn't here to cage you anymore. "12 Clay St." Clay Street, huh, Dally thought. Buck was right that she's a Soc.

"I'll be there soon." He put down the phone and grinned. "Hey Dar! Can I borrow the truck?"

~

A couple minutes later, Dally leaned on the truck outside your porch. He had promised Darry that he would keep it safe and no reckless or drunk driving. He looked around warily. He had a knife in his jacket just in case. Soc territory was dangerous for a Grease like him. Then you came out and he forgot all his troubles. You were wearing a simple plaid shirt and jeans, but Dally thought you looked amazing.

"Hey. I'm (Y/N)." You put out your hand. He raised an eyebrow. You put it back down in embarrassment. "Ahem. So...Dallas? Sorry I'm such a mess; you caught me off guard."

"I think you look perfect," Dally murmured.

"What was that?"

"Call me Dally."

"Right. Ok, where're we going?"

"Thought we could drive around, doll."

"Ok that has got to stop if I'm gonna go on a date with you, Dallas." He narrowed his eyes and she grinned.

"Fine, princess. That better?" She shrugged.

"Sure, Dal."
"Get in the car." She laughed and jumped into the passenger's seat. Dally shook his head and got into the driver's seat.

The date only had one kiss that night, surprisingly for a man like Dally. But it was one of the best you both had ever had.

Johnny:

"Now I know I've met an angel in person, and she looks perfect. I don't deserve this; you look perfect tonight."

(Sorry this is short; I'll work ok it...)

(Y/N) sat with Johnny in the abandoned lot, a sort of date. After that day of meeting each other, you two decided to "screw it with the world" and meet there every week to pour out everything wrong with the world at that moment to each other. Even though you two didn't know the other almost at all, it was a fine idea so Johnny went with it. (Y/N) was a very kind, bubbly, social, intelligent girl and plus, she was quite pretty. To Johnny, she was like the guardian angel he had always wished for. She would listen to his problems patiently, most of them about his parents and his home, and then exchange them with stories of her own. Secrets and stories flew and flew until an invisible bond of trust had thickened like a tree trunk.

On that particular Friday night, (Y/N) and Johnny sat waiting patiently for the sunset to arrive. He was nervous to ask her out. What if she said no? She has just been broken up a couple of weeks ago. He fidgeted with his jacket.

"What's wrong, Johnny?" she asked. She turned to him.

"Nothing, (Y/N)..." She crossed her legs and turned to sit across from him.

"You haven't said anything about your awful parents today or anything good about your gang or basically anything at all. You're quiet, but not this quiet. What's wrong?" Johnny blushed a bit. (Y/N) smiled a bit. He was adorable.

"Ok w-well...this is embarrassing....um....I w-was wondering if....you....and....m-me....on a uh...." He gulped. She smiled brightly.

"A date?" He nodded.

"Yeah...you're just an amazing gal, (Y/N)and I really love how you listen to me and you are also really pretty and um yeah. You can say no...I don't mind..."

"Why would I say no? I've been wanting to ask but was too scared." You hugged him. He blushed more and hugged you back. "So is this our date?" He shrugged.

"I guess so." There was a pause.

"Well I'm glad it's you who's asking me, Johnny. So how was your week?"

As Johnny relayed his week's terrible events such as his mother yelling at him non-stop on Monday and some Socs throwing some rocks, he felt a sense of comfort as if she really was his angel. He would not want to have any other angel then the one in front of him.

Two Bit:

"Baby I'm dancing in the dark, you between my arms, barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite songs."

Two Bit heard a knock on his door.

"Who is it?" he yelled as he ran to open it.

"(Y/N) (L/N)!" came the reply. Two grinned.

"Hello malady!" he said as he opened the door. You rolled your eyes. The Mickey-clad boy was the same as he was when you two met at that bar.

"Hi," you smiled. He gestured for you to come in. You stepped into a cluttered living room.

"Sorry it's a mess. I live with my mom and my sis. Let me get my jacket and I'll be right back." He ran off into the house, leaving you to stand there awkwardly.

He came out soon with a leather jacket and a huge grin.

"You ready, malady?" you said with a laugh.

"I didn't take that long!" he protested.

"Mhm. Where we going?" You two stepped out of the door and got into his car.

"The Dingo!" he replied. Two-Bit turned the key and the engine sputtered. "If I can get this car to work..." He turned the key again and again the engine failed.

"Very impressive, Two-Bit." You laughed. He rolled his eyes but laughed along.

"Well (Y/N), looks like we'll be walking." He got out and then opened your door for you.

"Well...more time to get to know each other," you said, taking his hand.

"What's there to know about me?" Two asked. You shrugged.

"What's your uh favorite color?" He laughed. "What?"

"Nothing." He laughed a bit more. "Hm...red, white, yellow, and black."

"Uh..."

"Mickey Mouse!" He laughed gleefully. You laughed along.

A few minutes later, you two reached the Dingo. It was pretty crowded since it was a Friday night. You didn't like too many people, especially Greasers who looked you up and down.

"Hey she's mine," Two spat at one. The guy raised an eyebrow.

"Wanna fight?" Two narrowed his eyes and balled up his fists. Before any punches were thrown, you pulled Two-Bit and yourself out of the diner. "Sorry for that. He was being a jerk." You nodded. "Where to now?"

"Hmm..." You thought. "You have a front yard?" He nodded. "Wanna look at the stars?" He shrugged and held out an elbow. You slipped your arm through it and walked back to his house.

"Sorry our date sucked," Two said a few minutes into the star-gazing. The sky was clear, so you had been pointing out different constellations. You sat up and leaned on your elbow to look down at him.

"No it didn't! I love astronomy. Unless this is boring for you. Then sorry..."

"Nah. But I think this needs some music." You sat up and watched as he got up to turn on the radio in his car.

A catchy tune came on, and he held out a hand for you to stand up. You hoisted yourself together, and he started to twirl you around. You kicked your shoes off, and he did the same. Laughing, you started to jump around. He watched as you danced to the song, a favorite of his actually. He grinned and began to dance with you, grabbing your waist and spinning you occasionally. After a few minutes of dancing to more songs, you two laid down on the grass. The night wind blew softly through the trees.

"This was probably the best date I've been on, Mr. Matthews."

'"Its Two. And why thank you." You laughed, and he grinned. Best first date ever.

Steve:

"When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful, I don't deserve this. Darlin' you look perfect tonight."

"Hey, sorry to keep you waiting." (Y/N) stepped out of the doorway, and Steve tried to keep his mouth from dropping. She was in a casual {favorite color} dress that hugged her figure but was not too revealing.

Steve had asked her if she wanted to go back to Buck's for a date again, and, after much begging and promises, she had agreed. He was wearing his normal oily DX shirt over a white tank and some stained jeans. Maybe underdressed? He shrugged in his mind and smiled at her. She was beautiful. And way out of his league. He couldn't believe that she had agreed to him asking her out.

"Keep your mouth shut, Steve; you're gonna swallow a bug." She laughed as he blushed a bit. No girl had ever had this effect on him. Weird.

"So...Buck's?" he asked. She nodded. He held out his hand, and she took it.

"Don't you have a car?" asked (Y/N) in the middle of their walk. He nodded.

"Soda needed it today for a date," he explained.

"Oh Soda's your friend from when we met right?" He nodded.

"But he's not available..."

"Don't worry. Who's going on a date with me right now?" she laughed.

"Me."

"Exactly, Steve. So don't be so jealous. We're here!" He looked up and sure enough, Buck's was right ahead.

"Alright. Ready to dance the night away again, (L/N)?" he said with a wink.

"I have a name, you know. And yes." Steve opened the door for her and they walked in together.

The date was perfect. The pair danced and drank a bit, then danced some more. Steve couldn't help thinking about how amazing (Y/N) looked and how lucky he was to be with her.

At the end of the night, Steve walked her home. She was a bit tipsy, and he found it hilarious because she had to lean on him to walk.

"Thank you for the date, gentleman," she said with a grin.

"No problem, (Y/N)," he replied with the same grin. She turned to open her door when she turned back around.
"One more thing..." Before he could ask what that thing was, she leaned in and kissed him. Laughing at his shock, she ran into her house and slammed the door shut.

"This girl's crazy..." Steve thought aloud. He grinned. "I love her."

I hope y'all like these whoop
Sorry for the late update ahhhh
