Chapter 10
No one's POV :
Rainbow sighed. The others looked at her, waiting.
Finally said, "I was abused".
The girls gasped. They couldn't believe it. Rainbow nodded. She wrapped her arms around her stomach.
"Any questions??".
"When did this happen??", Twilight asked.
Rainbow looked at the floor.
"From when I was three till I was 12. For 9 years".
"Who hurt you??", Spike asked.
Rainbow bit her lip, looking about ready to cry. A watery sigh was let out. Rainbow clenched her hand into a fist.
"My dad".
Spike eyes widened. He looked at Applejack. The blonde looked back at him. She looked at Rainbow.
"You didn't deserve it".
Rainbow didn't respond. She sunk down in her chair. Covering her mouth with her hand, Rainbow let tears run down her face. Applejack felt her heart break. She didn't like to see Rainbow cry.
"Rainbow", Rarity said.
The girls looked at her.
"I know it causes you alot of pain to talk about it but......what happened??".
They looked at Rainbow Dash. The girl wiped her tears away. She sat up.
"Well", she started. "My dad use to hurt my mom. I can remember seeing him hit her. So one day, she left. She packed up and left".
Applejack gave her a confused look.
"Why didn't she take ya with er??", she asked.
Rainbow shrugged. "I don't know. She never came back. Never. That was the last time I saw her. Then my dad starting drinking when she left and that led to him getting drunk one night. That led to him beating his three year old daughter for the first time. Ever since then he beat me, everyday. He slapped, kicked, punched me. Sent me to the hospital a few times but made it look like an accident that I fell down the stairs when he broke my arm or leg or ankle".
Tears ran down her face as she talked. She was shaking. The girls looked at eachother.
"Then.....one day he was found out and arrested. Then I lived with my uncle".
Applejack couldn't believe what this girl had been through. All that pain she went through. Physically and mentally. She shook her head.
"How could he??. You were a child", Rarity said.
Rainbow shrugged. Applejack couldn't help but feel like she wasn't saying something. Looking at Rainbow she could see her foot tapping, like she was nervous or something or holding something back. She had an idea.
"Rainbow. Let's go ta my house. Just me an you".
Rainbow looked at her. She sniffled and nodded. They stood up.
"We'll see you guys tomorrow", Applejack smiled. The girls nodded. They stood up. Twilight walked up to Rainbow Dash and touched her shoulder. Rainbow flinched a bit.
"Sorry", she said. She let Pinkie and Twilight hug her. She hugged back.
"We're so sorry", Twilight said.
Rainbow backed up and nodded. She looked at the blonde girl. They said bye and left. They walked to Applejack's house. Applejack lived alone. The house was quite nice and cozy. The two headed upstairs to her room. Rainbow wlked in and looked around. Everything was green and red. She smiled and looked at Applejack. The two put their stuff down. They sat on the bed.
"C'mon. What's goin on in that head o yours??", Applejack asked.
Rainbow sniffled. "It was my fault", she said.
Applejack frowned deeply. "What??".
Rainbow sighed. "My dad always blamed me for what he did to me. He was right".
Applejack shook her head. "No it wasn't".
Rainbow let out a sob. She stood up.
"Yes it was", she cried.
Applejack got up.
"It's my fault. My fault she left. My fault he beat me. It's my fault noone likes me. It's my fault I can't be loved. It's my fault I live with pain and that stupid fear that everyone is gunna hurt me. It's my fault I've been hurt. It's my fault I'm weak and stupid and afraid of everything. It's my fault you're stuck with me as a friend. It's my fault I didn't have friends. My dad was right".
Rainbow backed up, tears running down her cheeks.
"I deserved it. All of it. It was my fault he did it and that was my punishment. I deserved every second of it. I don't deserve to be happy o-or loved. I don't deserve friendship. I don't deserve to be treated nicely. I don't deserve the others to be my friends. And i-".
Rainbow looked ready to break down any second.
"And I especially don't deserve you to be my friend", she said.
Applejack shook her head.
"Rainbow. Stop it".
Rainbow looked at her. She didn't say anything more. Applejack walked over to her. Applejack took her by the shoulders. Rainbow flinched. Applejack didn't let go.
"Rainbow. Please".
Rainbow relaxed and looked at her.
"Just listen ta me. It wasn't your fault, okay??. Your dad chose ta drink, your mom chose to leave. That was a good thing that she did but terrible the she left her only kid with a man that she knew could easily hurt her of he wanted to, which he did".
Rainbow looked at the floor.
"You were only ah child Rainbow. There was nothing ah three year old could have done ta cause her daddy ta beat her. He needed ta be locked away and thank God he was. He deserved it. Ah hope he stays there".
Rainbow sniffled and looked up at her. She bit her lip.
"You didn't deserve it Rainbow. None of it. Ah promise. You're sweet, friendly, caring, beautiful inside and out. And don't you dare say that you're stupid. Ah don't know what kind of things he told you when you were younger. Worthless, stupid, ugly, a whore, slut, ah brat. None of it is true. I don't think you're any of those things and neither do the others. Ah think you're smart, kind, lovin', caring and you do deserve ta be happy and loved. We love you so much. Never firget that".
Rainbow began to cry again. She covered her face and looked down. Applejack pulled her in for a hug. She held her as Rainbow cried. The two just sat there. Applejack kissed the top of her head.
"We love you. You're loved more than ya know".
Rainbow wrapped her arms around her waist and buried her face in Applejack's chest. She cried and cried.
After a while her crying began to cease. She pulled away and sniffled. She raised her head to look up at Applejack. Applejack smiled. She tucked a strand of hair behind Rainbow's ear.
"You okay??".
Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. Sorry".
Applejack frowned. "Don't be. You didn't do anything wrong".
Rainbow shrugged. "I'm just so use to saying sorry all of the time when I was younger I guess it just became a habit".
Applejack smiled. "You have alot of babits".
Rainbow smiled. Applejack reached her hand up and wiped a year away.
"It's alright. No more cryin' today", she said.
Rainbow giggled and wiped her tears away. The teen sniffled.
"My head hurts", Rainbow said.
"You wanna take a nap??".
Rainbow nodded. The girls took their shoes off and turned the light off. They climbed into the bed and laid down. Rainbow looked at Applejack. She smiled.
Rainbow felt an arm around her waist. She scooted closer to her friend and snuggled up close to her. She was exhausted. The two girls fell asleep, everything off their chest. Well, almost everything.
