Kaira's POV.

''They aren't doing anything.'' I mumbled as Izuna and I continued to observe the movements of our enemies.

''This is so boring.'' Izuna whined. ''Why can't we just eliminate them?''

I sighed. ''Did dad tell you that we could kill them?'' I asked. ''And I don't see how killing them is any fun. Even if we have the element of surprise, we don't have the orders.''

I wasn't looking at Izuna, yet I knew he was glancing at me with a look in his eyes I probably didn't like. ''No, he didn't tell me.'' Izuna muttered annoyed. ''But since when do you listen to him so well? Don't have the orders? Are you kidding me? This is my revenge. I want to return the favor.''

''Izuna! You're recklessness is what got you in trouble in the first place. Do you want to repeat what happened the previous time you encountered them?'' I growled.

Izuna's eyes softened, and he smiled softly. ''Don't worry, I'll be fine.'' he grinned. ''I have you here with me after all. Besides, even if we sit here for hours, we won't get to know anything new. I'll just tell dad they found us and we had no choice but to eliminate them in order to stay alive or something like that.''

Izuna's POV.

''You done there?''

I nodded and sheathed my katana. This really felt good. After what those guys did to me, Kuri and Rai, I could finally get my revenge. They deserved it. They could have expected it. I can't believe those guys actually beat me once.

''Izuna, let's head back.'' Kaira said. ''I'm tired of this already.''

''Shouldn't we look around for a bit?'' I asked. ''Maybe we'll find something interesting.''

''This isn't their main base, but just one they can stay at temporary. I doubt we'll find anything of importance here.''

I sighed. ''Let's just look around.''

Kaira's POV.

''I told you there wasn't anything here.'' I muttered as we walked through the forest, heading back to the base.

Izuna pouted playfully and nudged me. ''Don't be like that. Why can't you never relax?''

I looked from the corners of my eyes at my brother. He could be so smart and skilled, but he still was an idiot. ''Relaxation leads to letting your guard down, and letting your guard down leads to being poisoned. Being poisoned leads to-''

''Yeah yeah I know.'' Izuna grumbled. ''How long are you going to use that against me?''

''As long as I... want.. to.'' I slowly trailed off as I saw the bridge in front of us. There was literally a hole in it.

''What the hell happened here?'' Izuna mumbled.

That was when I heard a voice. ''Then, I will carry the burden of all your hatred, and die with you.''

There were people on the river. I also sensed chakra, also very familiar chakra, but it was pretty faint. Looking down, my eyes widened once I saw Sasuke, Obito and Zetsu. There were also three other people I didn't recognize.

I was just about to jump off the bridge, but Izuna grabbed my arm, preventing me from going any further. ''Kaira, Obito is with him.'' he whispered. ''He'll be fine. We shouldn't get involved. Those people are from Konoha, you know?''

''I sense chakra.''

Looking down again, I saw the grey haired man looking up, his eyes slightly widening when he saw Izuna and me.

''Too late.'' I breathed before yanking my arm free and jumping off the bridge.

Sasuke didn't look very good. His clothes were torn, he had injuries and his eyes were bleeding. And that's not all. Something seemed different about him. He became.. darker.

''S-Suki?'' The younger boy looked quite shocked. He was confusing me with Suki? Was he one of her friends?

''Naruto, that's not Suki.'' the pink haired girl muttered. ''Look at her eyes. Suki's are green, but those are black.'

Sasuke narrowed his eyes at me. ''Kaira.''

I turned to him and narrowed my eyes as well, sending him a glare. ''You said you'd be careful. And with careful I do not mean close to death.''

Izuna landed next to me, placing a hand on my shoulder and pulling me back. ''Who's reckless now?'' he grunted.

''Kaira, Izuna, stay back.'' Obito said.

Sasuke looked away from me, turning his face to look at 'Naruto' instead. ''Why, Naruto?'' he asked. ''What the hell do you want? Why are you so obsessed with me?!'''

Naruto smiled. ''Because I'm your friend.''

Sasuke looked surprised, and there was a pretty long silence. I didn't know what happened between them in Konoha. Sasuke never really talked to me about it, but I never asked either, but now I was beginning to get a little bit curious.

''Sasuke,'' Naruto continued. ''I knew I couldn't understand you by normal means since the first time we met. The only way we could ever understand each other is through our fists.'' Naruto said as he held his balled hand out to Sasuke. ''I told you earlier. We've both become first-class shinobi. I haven't given up yet. I'm going to bring you back to Konoha. I will never give up!''

Bring Sasuke back to Konoha? Were they that good friends? I couldn't imagine Sasuke being very friendly with this guy.

''Well, I think I'm gonna stop blabbering now.'' Naruto chuckled. ''Seriously, I suck at preaching to others. This isn't like me at all. If the time really comes when we both die, you will no longer be an Uchiha, and I'll no longer be the Kyuubi's Jinchuuriki.''

My eyes widened. He was the Jinchuuriki of the Nine-Tails? Now I thought about it, I could vaguely recall a conversation about this Jinchuuriki. That must be why his name sounded so familiar.

''We'd have no more burdens that way, and then we could finally understand each other, in the afterlife.'' Naruto continued.

Sasuke's eyes narrowed. ''I won't change.'' he said coldly, his voice completely void of emotion. ''Nor do I feel like understanding you. Nor do I feel like dying. You're the one who's going to die.''

I was surprised when Naruto kept smiling. Didn't he understand it was useless to even try to convince Sasuke? He wouldn't change his mind.

''If I die, you'll die with me, Sasuke.'' Naruto spoke.

I saw Sasuke smirk slightly. ''Fine. Then I'll kill you first.''

''You still haven't fully acknowledged me.'' Naruto said, but before he could continue, the other man interrupted him. ''Enough Naruto. I'll handle Sasuke. You still have your precious dream of becoming Hokage. I don't want you to be dragged down with him,-'' ''Could someone who can't even save one of his friends really become Hokage?'' Naruto cut him off. ''I will... fight Sasuke.''

My eyes narrowed. Sasuke was obviously on no state to fight anymore. He was totally worn out. If he'd fight Naruto now, he'd lose. I lifted my hand a bit, bringing it closer to the handle of my katana.

''Understood Naruto. I'll leave Sasuke to you.'' the man said as he stepped forward. ''Sakura, I leave my body to you.''

Just now I noticed the Sharingan in his left eye, and I clenched my fists once he activated the Mangekyou Sharingan. Where did he get that?

''Hold it right there, Kakashi.'' Obito spoke up. ''That technique won't work on me.''

I looked over my shoulder at the man with the mask, and my eyes widened once I realized something. Obito had only one Sharingan.. Did that mean, that this Kakashi had the other one?

Obito put his hand on Sasuke's shoulder. ''Let's go Sasuke.''

Obito began to transport us away from this place, and everything around be began to twirl.

Sasuke's POV.

''Are you alright, Sasuke?'' Kaira asked once we arrived at one of the bases. I had to blink several times before I could see her more clearly. ''How many fingers do you see?''

I would have hoped she didn't notice, but Kaira's pretty sharp. ''Three.''

''Four.'' she replied, her voice soft. ''I told you not to overuse it. I warned you for this, Sasuke.''

I sighed and leaned against the wall. ''I know.''

''Sasuke.'' Obito walked at us. ''What did you want to talk about?''

''I want Itachi's eyes.''

''So you've finally decided.'' I hated the sick tone he was speaking with. ''You've been overusing Susano'o. I know you can barely see anything.''

A pain shot through my eyes and I grunted while feeling a hand on my shoulder. ''Sasuke!''

''I'm fine, Kaira.'' I whispered.

''Nice timing.'' Obito muttered.

''Transplant them right away.'' I demanded.

''You're in quite the hurry.'' Obito commented as I followed him into the hideout. ''Why is that?''

''I will crush Naruto with all my strenght, and then I will exterminate everything there is about him.'' I replied. ''That's all.''

Kaira's POV.

''Hold this for me.'' Sasuke muttered as he handed me his shirt. ''You can leave if you don't want to see it.''

''I've seen worse.'' I whispered. ''So I'll stay.''

Sasuke sighed and leaned in, briefly pressing his lips against mine. The feeling lingered on my lips even after he had pulled away, just before Obito appeared. Sasuke lay down and Obito looked at me.''You're staying?''

I nodded.

''I'm doing it.'' Obito said. ''Ready?''

''Do it.''
