When stepped out of the house, it was strangley warm, and the moon was shining brightly with stars all around it. I could feel a gentle breeze all around me as we walked to our unknown destination. I looked back to see Natsu and Lisanna continue to whisper to eachother, Happy in Lisanna's arms. I don't like this, I thought in my head, I once again feel distant. Finally, Aditi, who was leading the whole group, stopped at a pond. "Why're we here?" I asked.
"In order for you to unlock your full poweres and become a Celestial Priestess, you must cleanse away your sins. This water has not been touched since the beginning of time because it's made up of holy escence." Aditi explained. "If anything or anyone touches the water and they don't have Celestial escence, the water turns into acid, and they burn." I walked towards the ebb of the lake and looked down. It really did look pure. There's not a speck of pollution, and the water just looked so....beautiful. I wanted to touch it, but then Aditi yelled, "Wait!"
Startled, I fell on my butt against the sand. "What's wrong?"
"I haven't started the initiation." Aditi informed me. She walked up to Natsu and asked, "May I please borrow your fire?"
All of us gave Aditi a crazy look. "Umm..sure?" Natsu spit out a ball of fire upon his hand. Aditi took that fire, not even getting burned. She gently placed the fire on the pond, and it lit up immediatley. I gasped at how beautiful it looked. I really wanted to touch it now, but Aditi once again told me to stop. "Before you go into the water, you must place all your keys in the order of which you got them clockwise around the pond."
I groaned. I took out all my golden keys and began to walk around the pond. One by one, I began to place the keys in the water. Surprisingly, they did not sink, but instead floated on the surface. They lit up as they made contact with the water. Finally, I placed the final key on the pond. Almost instantly, all the keys made a golden trail that led to the middle of the pond. I looked back at Aditi, and she nodded. I gently began to move my hand towards the water, then hesitated. I looked back at Aditi and asked, "Will I change?"
"Of course! Your magic will multiply to the max!" She exclaimed.
"I mean will I change?" I asked. She finally understood what I meant and frowned. "I don't know. It's been almost a thousand years since this ritual has been made."
I shook my head. "I don't want to change who I am..."
"But if you don't finish the ritual, the beast will continue to steal women souls!" Aditi cried.
I was really didn't know what to do. What if I changed into a completley different person? What if I became...a monster? "Lucy," I suddenly heard Natsu said, "you're not going to change."
"How do you know?!" I suddenly cried. "What if I turn into something I don't want to be!"
He walked up to me and placed his hands on my shoulder. "Because I trust you."
At that moment, that's when I knew. His dazzling, kind eyes, his friendly yet brave smile. His generous, loving heart.
It was when I knew I loved Natsu Dragneel.
"Thank you...Natsu." I smiled. He smiled back and released me from his clutches. I turned around, and took a deep breathe. Then, I placed my right bare foot on the pond. Just like the keys, my foot didn't sink underwater, but just hovered above the surface. As I began to walk on the pond , I could feel something inside me. Something so...warm. Finally I reached the center, and then that's when it happened.
All around me, bright golden lights appeared, shooting up at the sky. I could see my Celestial Spirits appear, smiling down at me. Congratulations, Lucy, Loke smiled.
"Loke..." I smiled.
Is this my punishment, Hime-Sama? Virgo asked.
I laughed. "It's not your punishment."
Then, all the spirits turned into little golden orbs and began to spin around me. They all entered my body, and I could feel the amount of magic inside me. My hair began to float and glow, growing longer and longer. I looked to see that my keys were actually growing into longer rods. No not rods. More like scepters. The lights began to dim down and soon disappeared, and my hair returned to normal, despite the fact that it was five inches longer. I took a deep breathe and began to walk around the pond, picking up each of my former keys. Although they looked heavy, they were as light as air. Finally, I walk back to shore. Aditi and the others have worried faces. "Well? How do you feel?" Happy asked me.
"I feel...I feel.." Suddenly, the world looked a little blurry and twisted. "Lucy!" I heard someone call. But before I could see the person's face, I blacked out, unconscious.
When I opened my eyes, I was in some kind of white realm. It all seemed to...peaceful. "Hello?" I called out. "Hello!"
"You don't need to yell, mistress. I am here with you." I heard a soft whisper.
"Who's there?" I asked.
"You and I will meet in the distant future, but for now I must worn you of something evil." Said the soft whisper.
"Something evil?" I asked, confused.
"The elderly woman who took you and the rest of your teammates in. She is not who she says she is." The voice whispered.
"But how do I know I can trust you?" I asked the voice.
"Because we're the same." A different voice answered answered.
"The same? How?" I asked, starting to get a little scared. Suddenly, a tall mirror appeared from no where. I look through it to see my reflection. My hair was now up to my waist, and my face looked so much more...pretty, if I do say so myself. Suddenly, my reflection's hair began to grow shorter and shorter. I touched my hair and realized that it was still the same length. My reflection began to move, trying to pop out of the mirror. "Onee-Chan....Help me..." My reflection whimpered.
I screamed as loud as I could, scared out of my mind. What's happening! Why was this happening! Suddenly, I heard the sound of someone yelling my name. "Lucy!"
I open my eyes to see Natsu looking over me, his face a little sweaty. "Lucy! What's wrong!"
I shot up from my bed and looked around. I was no longer in that white, empty void. I was back at Aditi's cottage in the guest room. Happy, who was apparently on my lap, was backed up against Natsu's arm. "Lucy, why did you scream!"
"Oh...my...God..." I whispered.
"Lucy! What happened!" Natsu yelled.
"It was...nothing. Just a nightmare." I didn't want them to worry, especially with the beast arriving tonight. I looked to my right to see all my scepters attatched to this backpack like object. "Natsu made that! It looked hard to carry all those scepters at once."
I smiled at Natsu, my heart pounding for him and the nightmare. "Thanks."
Suddenly, Aditi came in with a worried expression. "Oh, dear! Are you alright!"
At that exact moment, I felt a sudden...wave of negativity coming from her. It made me feel....unsecure, almost scared. I backed up a little, which gave Aditi a confused look. "Honey, are you alright?"
I don't know. Was I alright?
So many questions filled my head at that exact moment:
Who was the voice that whispered in my dream?
Was Aditi really hiding something from the three of us?
Why did my own reflection call me Onee-Chan?
So many questions, plus the fact that my feelings for Natsu were growing and growing.
My world was seriously flipping upside-down.
