A Decision to Make

**************************************************************************************************************************

Hey, Readers! Sorry for the long, long update, but I've been busy as the school year begins to close. I just realized that I have to rap up this book before I leave for Cali! I will write more chapters, this I swear! Anyhoo, here's Chapter 20, ENJOY!!!!!!!!

***************************************************************************************************************************

I stared down at Lucy with horror. Her skin was rapidly getting more and more pale by the second. I quickly yet carefully pulled her out onto my lap. I shook her shoulders and said, "Lucy...Lucy! Wake up, please! Lucy! LUCY!"

"C'mon Natsu! Hurry up!" I heard Erza cry out. I wiped the tears from my eyes and carried Lucy in my arms, running as fast as I could as Gajeel and Erza placed a giant boulder on the giant whole on the floor. I placed Lucy down in front of Wendy, her face horrified. "I..I don't know how...For a second she was..," I muttered, my words so flustered.

"Oh my God, what happened!" Liora cried.

"People, please calm down! I need to get the spear out of her chest. It'll be painful, but I think I can do it with out damaging anymore of her organs." She grabbed the medal rod and slowly began to pull the spear out of her body. Lucy began to scream out with pain, squeezing me as tight as she could. After several moments, Wendy finally got the spear out of her chest. Lucy was unconscious once again, but blood was spilling out of her chest like crazy. "What are you gonna do?" Liora asked frantically.

"It might take a while, but I think with a few complicated spells-,"

"Will she live?" That was all I cared about. As long as she lived, I would still be happy. Wendy sighed. "I don't know Natsu. But she has to be in medical care immediately. There's a hospital just a few minutes from here. I think I can take her there and get some more help from the doctors."

"Alright," I nodded. I grabbed Wendy with my bloody hands and begged her, "Please, Wendy...save her."

Wendy nodded. With the help of Liora and Levy, the two of them ran out of the apartments, leaving Gajeel,  Erza, Lisanna, and me. I could hear loud thumps from under ground beginning to grow louder and louder. "We have company," Lisanna hissed, revealing her tiger claws. Anger was flourishing inside of me. They hurt Lucy. They could've even kill her. Fire appeared in my hands as I growled, "Let them come so that I can tear them apart."

At that exact moment, the boulder was destroyed; turned into rubble. Solar came out through the floorboards, along with her four other companions, all scratched up and bloody. Solar looked furious, almost matching my anger. "You ruined everything! And for that, you all must die."

"Ditto to you, too," I hissed.

"Attack!" Solar roared. Her companions came after us, anger flourishing through them as well. We were fighting almost to the death, not showing any mercy on anyone. But my problem was the fact that none of these people were close to dying. What the hell was going on? I thought they would be dead by now! "NATSU!" I heard Lisanna cry. "YOU HAVE TO KILL SOLAR IN ORDER TO KILL THE OTHERS!"

"Alright!" I cried. I dodged Pan and flew straight to Solar, who was only an observant to the whole fight. She noticed me running up to her and simply dashed to the side, making me piss her. "Fire Dragon's Roar!" She simply just dodged it like before. "JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY!"

"Awww. Is the little dragon angry?"

"Oh, you call that angry? You haven't even seen me angry!" I ran up to her and threw my flamed fists at her. This time, she didn't dodge and took the punch, flying up in the air. She cried out in air and hit the ground. Shit spit out some blood and glared at me. "Lighting: Attack!" Lightning shot out of her hand and struck me on the chest. I cried out in pain and kneeled to the ground. Before I could loose all my strength, I quickly chanted, "Fire Dragon's Roar!" The fire hit Solar, and she began to cry out in pain. She laid on the ground, panting with exhaustion. I crawled towards Solar, panting with weariness. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you and you're companions?" I hissed.

Solar looked up at me and smirked. "Because if you kill me...you kill Lisanna as well."

My eyes widened with shock. "But....how?!"

"Because the minute she joined forces with me...she became my companion...so like the others, she will die!" If Lisanna hadn't apologized before, I probably would've easily killed her off. But what can I do now? Solar snickered. "What are you gonna do now, Dragon Slayer? You can either let me and Lisanna live, or kill the both of us? Your choice."

Shit, what am I going to do, I thought desperately in my head. Suddenly, a blade was pressed against Solar's neck, making her gasp. I looked up and gasped. It was Lisanna. "Lisanna!" I cried.

"Don't try and stop me, Natsu. I've got to do this."

"But you'll-!"

"I know what'll happen to me, but if I don't, Lucy will be in even more danger!" Lisanna cried. Tears were spilling from her eyes, yet she pressed a smile on her face. "Even when we were dating, I knew I could never fill your heart. I tired my best, but I guess it wasn't meant to be." She pressed the blade deeper against Solar's neck. "Child, don't be a fool!"

"I've bee a fool for a long time, Madam. I believe now is the time to redeem myself." She looked at me with sad eyes and smiled again. It was the smile I loved when we were kids, so innocent and pure.

"Tell Lucy I said sorry. And Goodbye."

And with that, she swung the blade against Solar's neck. A bright red light appeared, blinding everyone in sight. I shielded my eyes for a moment, and looked back. They were gone. They were all gone. Nothing was left but a puddle of bright red blood. "Where did they go?" I heard Gray ask.

"Are they gone?" Artemis asked sheepishly. I nodded. Goodbye Lisanna, I thought sadly in my head. "They're gone. For good."

"Where did Lisanna go?" Erza asked. I was silent, and they got the message. Everyone took a moment of silence in honor of Lisanna. Suddenly, my cell phone went off, and Levy's name was on the caller ID. I answered it. "Hello?"

"Natsu, it's Levy. We need your help."

"Help? What's wrong?"

"It's Lucy," she whimpered. "The blade was poisoned...she's not doing well..." My heart stopped. I couldn't think, nor could I move. "We'll be there immediately!" I hung up the phone and looked at the others. "We have to go the hospital. NOW!"

"What's going on?" Artemis asked. I didn't answer. I just ran out of the apartment and sprinted to the hospital.

When I got to the hospital, I ran to the emergency room. There, I saw Levy and Liora outside the room. "What's her status?"

"She's lost a lot of blood, and she's been poisoned," Liora whimpered. I think Wendy can cure the poison, but they can't do a blood fusion  because of Lucy's rare blood type."

"What about Liora?" I asked. "Don't they have the same blood type?"

Liora shook her head. "I'm have A+. She's O-." I stared at Liora with shock. I looked at my wrist and sighed. "I'm O-."

Levy's eyes widened. "Natsu, this is a very risky. There is a slight possibility that you could save her, but you could get sick, or worse!"

"I don't care," I said. "As long as she lives, I'll be happy." The doctor came out of the ER with his gloves bloody. "We're doing everything we can, but this girl has lost a tremendous amount of blood. We're out of her type, so we need a donor."

"That would be me," I said.

"Are you related to the patient at all?"

I paused. "I'm her husband." I could hear Levy and Liora gasp a little. "That's good enough. If you come with us, you have to sign a few waivers, then we can proceed with the procedure."

I nodded and followed the doctor.

After signing a few papers and agreements, they dressed me in gown and took me to the emergency room. I was horrified by the sight of Lucy. Her skin looked so pale, there were machines strapped on her, and she looked like she was in total pain. I walked up to her side and grabbed her hand. "You're going to be fine," I whispered. "I swear it."

I kissed her cold hand and sighed. Her hand twitched a little, and her eyes opened. "Na..tsu?"

"Shhh. Don't speak. The operation is going to start soon."

"But....Solar....Lisanna..."

"I'll tell you about it after the operation," I promised her. "Now just rest."

"Natsu...I...love you..," She breathed.

"I know," I whispered, pressing my head against hers. "I love you too."

"Mr. Dragneel, please lay down on the bed. It's time for the procedure," one of the nurses informed me. I nodded and lied on the bed next to Lucy's. She took my hand and squeezed it. I squeezed back. Everything is going to be okay, I assured myself. We're going to be okay.

And with that, they inserted the anesthetic into my lungs, and I went into a deep, dreamless sleep.

When I woke up, I wasn't in the ER anymore. I was in a white room. There was a window open, letting in a soft breeze into the room. The sky looked so blue that I haven't seen it that blue in what seemed like forever. Am...Am I dead, I wondered in my head. Suddenly, I noticed a presence other than my own. I looked to my left and stared.

It was Lucy, staring directly into my eyes, smiling softly.

Although I was in pain, I reached out to touch her hand. She reached for my hand as well, touching the ends of my fingertips. "You're awake," Lucy smiled.

"I don't know whether I'm awake or dead," I whispered, smiling like a fool.

Lucy chuckled. "Trust me when I say that you are perfectly alive."

I sighed with relief. "When did you wake up?"

"A while ago. Levy and Liora were here to keep me up to date on what happened after...I was stabbed."

"So you know about Lisanna...," I muttered. Lucy nodded. A tear slowly fell out of her eye and down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away. "I just wished...that we would've spent more time together, you know? Get to know each other a little more instead of fighting all the time."

I slowly moved closer to the edge of my bed and gently touched her face. "There was nothing we could do. She was linked to Solar like the others. She knew her fate."

Lucy nodded. "I know. I thought I avoided her death by letting me get stabbed instead of her."

"Wait, you knew she was going to die?"

"I had a dream while my life was being sucked away, I saw my sister's lover. He said that either my sister or Lisanna would die. I thought I could change fate-"

I noticed how upset she was feeling, so I just slowly stroke my fingers against her face. She shuddered and pressed her hand against mine. "I haven't thanked you yet, have I?"

"For what?"

"For giving me your blood and saving me."

I smiled. "It was the least I could do for the person I love."

Lucy smiled as well. "I love you too, Natsu."

"Now rest, Luce. The more you rest, the sooner we can both get discharged." Lucy nodded, and suddenly she stepped out of her bed. She slowly pushed me away from the edge and lied there in my place. She pressed her head against my chest and began to rest. I smiled and kissed her scalp. As she fell asleep in my arms, I soon also began to sleep in the comfort of someone I love.
