Chapter 16

[JULIAN]

You don't know how wonderful it is to have someone fawn over you, wanting to cuddle and kiss you - wanting to make love to you.

"Zeus stop," I complained, trying to undo his hands from around my waist. It's Sunday morning and we are by the counters in the kitchen with Spots barking at the distance.

"Why?" he asked teasingly as he gave my neck little butterfly kisses.

"Spots' looking at us weird," I defended, trying my best to undo his hands without success.

"One last time," Zeus said, pressing himself against me.

"No Zeus!" I shuttered, blushing deeply. Zeus could be so direct.

"One-Last-Time," Zeus groaned, lifting me off the floor. I shook my head, chuckling.

"Come on, surrender or I'll make you cum on the counter..." Zeus trailed as we suddenly heard ringing.

"Sorry, that's mine," Zeus groaned, dropping me and reaching for the phone in his pocket.

"I really have to take this, we'll finish later," Zeus whispered, bringing the phone to his ear.

"Hello? Tamara?" Zeus said, walking out of the kitchen door, and into the living room. I groaned uncomfortably. How could he just leave me here all hot and bothered? Okay, my revolt did say otherwise. Well, haven't you heard of playing hard to get?

I leaned on the counter taking in the kitchen. I liked the black tiled floor and the dark wood paneling that adorned the walls. The kitchen looked pricy like the rest of the place.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I just couldn't believe it was already Sunday, and that meant I was leaving tomorrow. I didn't want to think about it, and I think Zeus felt the same way, considering the way we kept cuddling and giving each other gentle kisses. My chest felt unnaturally heavy thinking about going home to Linda  — thinking about having to subject myself to sex with Linda. I cringed at the idea. I had never liked it, and now I knew what sex could feel like when you were attracted to the person, I despised the idea of having it with her.

"Julian," Zeus said, bursting through the kitchen door.

"I have some guests coming over in a while," Zeus continued saying as he pat the dog's head as it held on to his pant leg. He gave the dog a brief soft look before looking back at me.

"Uh, okay," I said, biting my lip. Is he asking me to leave?

"I swear I'll be back as soon as possible," Zeus said, gently shaking Spots off his leg. The dog fell on its back before getting back up and whimpering.

"Fine, I'll go with you too," Zeus sighed, talking to the dog. It gave an excited bark and started nibbling on Zeus' toes. I chuckled and Zeus just rolled his eyes.

"We'll be back by ten," Zeus said, leaving the kitchen with the dog on his tail.

I will never admit this to Zeus in my life but I'm lonely, bloody lonely.

What in the world is taking so long? I wondered, cuddling his pillow. It's been what, twenty minutes? I groaned, rolling over on my back, the pillow still tucked between my arms.

I gauged the room for the first time ever. The walls were a creamy shade of yellow. I really like the Greek mural on the ceiling. It was of a mythical forest rich with creatures and mischief. The bluish fluorescent lights on the ceiling were in irregular shapes which made them blend into the mural as streams.

How expensive of Zeus. I thought, looking away from the ceiling to the fur carpet. This isn't the first time I'd thought anything looked a tad too expensive and it probably won't be the last. Obviously, I had some sort of idea that Zeus wasn't living a middle-class life. I mean I'm not that stupid. You can tell from little things like how ridiculously large the bathroom was or the expensive-looking china in the kitchen cupboard—

I jumped hearing a door slam from downstairs.

"Zeus?" I said, confused and scrambling out of the bed. I soon heard feminine laughter followed by the loud barking of spots.

Women. I thought, heading down the spiral staircase. Reaching the end of the stairs I stopped. I'm not so sure if I should walk in on them.

"Julian!" I heard a woman shriek, ambushing me from the corner.

"Thank goodness! I've wanted to see you for so long!" she squealed, trapping me in a tight hug that couldn't ignore the size of her stomach.

"Darn it! Tamara would you please get off him?!" a dark-skinned woman said, walking up to me and the woman hugging me; who I suppose is Tamara.

"Tamara," I heard Zeus say as he approached.

"I'm sorry, I know I said I was going to be back sooner but their car broke down so..." Zeus trailed. I gave him a sincere smile. He looked so worn out and I think I understood why. I thought about it, looking down at the woman engulfing me in her hug.

"The car didn't break down, Tamara crashed it!" The caramel-skinned woman sighed frustration, her brown curly hair bouncing.

"How could you! I'm an amazing driver!" Tamara screamed, letting go of me.

"Amazing driver, huh? You can't even tell reverse from brake!" The brown-haired lady countered rolling her eyes.

"The blinky red thingy was distracting me!" Tamara defended.

"The seat belt light Tamara! You mean the seat belt light!" The lady groaned. Zeus chuckled and rolled his eyes. It's amusing watching them are they sisters or something?

"What did I ever see in you?" the caramel-skinned woman sort of asked herself.

"No, it's what do you see in me. We're in the present boo," Tamara said, reaching out and shaking the woman by her shoulders.

"You- Are-A-Mad-Banshee," The woman stated.

"And-I-Am-Utterly-In-Love-With-You," Tamara said, batting her eyelashes.

Okay, so they aren't sisters.

"You're going to be a horrible mother," the lady stated, frowning at Tamara.

"And what on earth makes you think I'm the mother?" Tamara asked.

"I know, I know. I'll soon have two kids to handle," The woman sighed, giving up. Tamara just beamed and hugged her.

"If you guys are about done with screaming and trying to suffocate Julian, you may proceed to the living room," Zeus said. Tamara let go of the woman and shrugged.

"Oh, and I'm Kelly," the woman stated, giving me a faint smile. I smiled back at her, not really knowing why. It's possible she just has a really contagious smile.

"I'm not going to be making dinner alone am I?" Zeus asked, reappearing from the kitchen door.

"I'll help," Kelly offered, walking over to him and following him back into the kitchen.

I don't think it's wise of Kelly to leave me here with Tamara. I thought,  glancing at Tamara. She just gave me a big smile before screaming 'Race you to the couch!' I rolled my eyes and laughed. A pregnant woman (or should I say a child trapped in a woman's body?) shouldn't do things like run. I thought, reaching the living room sofas to find a pouting Tamara on the couch.

"You didn't race with me," she accused, folding her arms across her chest.

"Sorry?" I blurted for no reason whatsoever before settling on a one sitter sofa beside the couch. A couple of minutes passed in uncomfortable silence. I'm just realizing I've never sat on any of the one sitter sofas since I got here on Friday, just on the couch cuddling up with Zeus.

"Don't you dare perv on me," I heard Tamara yell. I blinked, then blushed before diverting my attention to the flat screen TV that wasn't even on.

"I'm bored," Tamara stated. I looked back at her to find her lying on the black leather sofa sulking. I nodded in agreement to her statement not really knowing what to say. What could I say?

"I want to go make out with Kelly" Tamara sulked looking towards the slightly opened kitchen door. My mouth fell open in surprise. How could she be so blunt?

"What? Don't you want to make out with Zeus?" Tamara asked. I just blinked and turned away.

"You know I don't do well with people ignoring me," Tamara said. I could hear the 'uhu' and the sharp clicking of fingers that followed. Still blushing I nodded still refusing to look at her.

"Take care of him, okay?" Tamara said her voice softening. My features softened at her words. Was she referring to Zeus? She probably was so I nodded still not sure exactly why she was asking me to do that. If anything Zeus takes care of me.

"Don't worry, Kelly is going to take real good care of us," I heard Tamara coo. I turned to face her out of curiosity and found her rubbing her pregnancy bump. I didn't know what to say. It looks so natural, so mother-like.

"You'll make a wonderful parent," I said out of the blue. Tamara looked up at me her eyes widened in surprise.

"I'm serious," I said. For a while, the only sound between us was the light clattering of plates from the kitchen.

"Do you really think so?" she asked, her brown eyes looking more like misty pools of chocolate now.

"Yes," I answered, turning away. I'm a bit uncomfortable with her staring at me like that.

"Sometimes I think I'm selfish for the fact that I decided to have this baby just to be more secure about Kelly and me," Tamara muttered then sighed. God, I know how she feels. When I heard about Louis I just — I just wanted to mark Zeus as off-limits in some way.

"I know it's really dumb—" she said, pausing.

"It's not," I assured, turning back to her. She looked up at me questioningly.

"It's not dumb," I finished. I watched her bite her lip, sit up then rock from side to side. She opened her mouth then closed it, then opened it again. Wait. Was she imitating some cartoon characters?

"You know I like you Julian and no it wasn't a cartoon it was some cheesy chick flick on TV," Tamara said and I burst into a fit of laughter.

*

Zeus and I were on the bed in his bedroom now. I was making silly patterns on his chest, using his long hair, while he petting my hair and giving my forehead light kisses. We weren't talking. It was okay, I guess. There was really nothing to say except for the looming fact that I was leaving tomorrow.

I don't want to talk about that.

"I'll miss this," Zeus said, giving my forehead another kiss.

"Me too..." I trailed, still playing with his hair. I liked that he keeps it so long, it suits him.

"Zeus," I said, cuddling up to him.

"Huh?" Zeus murmured, placing his head atop of mine.

"Don't cut your hair ever," I murmured, running my hand through his scalp. Zeus' chest soon vibrated in laughter. I really don't see what's funny, I like his hair it's unique in a way.

"Did you like Tamara and Kelly?" he asked, pulling me into his chest.

"Yeah," I managed, closing my eyes. They left about thirty minutes ago. I like them, they're a funny couple.

"I'm glad," Zeus whispered into my blond hair, wrapping his hands around me. My face felt hot, and I tried not to think too much about how fast my heart was beating. I felt funny, you know in that jittery stomach flipping way I felt anytime Zeus touched me in an intimate way. I liked it. It was unnerving and refreshing at the same time.

I listened to Zeus' rhythmical heartbeat and let myself follow in sync with his breathing. I gasped a little, feeling my boxers get tighter — Okay, the boxers belonged to  Zeus'. It's not like I planned any change of clothes apart from the jersey, jeans, and sweater I took to the game with me. Anyway, It was nice to find out I fit in Zeus' old clothes quite alright, they were a bit big but fine.

"Zeus," I called.

"Hmm?" Zeus answered. I blinked, realizing that he had been sleeping, or at least dozing off, and I feel awful for waking him over a stupid question I wanted to ask.

"Do you — do you feel like sleeping with me?" I asked, feeling my cheeks warm up.

"Isn't that what we're already doing?" Zeus asked teasingly

"I didn't mean it in that sense. I meant  — just shut up and make love to me," I muttered, burying my face in his chest. I soon heard soft laughter and his soft voice mouthing, 'I thought you would never ask.'

Within the last three days, I think I've slept with Zeus more than I do with Linda in two weeks.

The way we made love tonight was different. It was slower, longer, needy, and incredibly passionate. I liked Zeus so much. Dam I like him too much.
