Just the thought of moving around hurt my body. But I got up anyway; I found myself looking forward to seeing Natsu at school. At that thought I thumped myself in the head.

"No, don't fall for a guy like him!" I scold myself. I sigh at the thought, if I was jumping to that conclusion already I knew I was doomed.

"I don't like him," I mutter, almost angrily. I finish getting ready and head to school. When I enter the building I immediately regret coming. Lisanna stands waiting for me, her hands on her hips. Her lip gloss gleamed and her eyes sharpened when they landed on me. A smirk crossed her lips.

"We've been waiting for the trash to walk in," she sneered. Only beggars wait for trash...but I'll let her keep thinking that's a good insult. I tighten my grip on my bag and my brown eyes keep darting everywhere but her.

"Are you nervous? Or just trying to look for a way to escape?" She giggled and resumed her glare. I swear if looks were knives I'd have so many embedded in me I wouldn't be recognizable. I shake my head denying her questions.

"Well girls, it's time to try out our new heels," Lisanna laughed with the girls before snatching up my arm as my stomach sank. I was dragged away helplessly, afraid to fight and afraid to succumb. My heart beat sped up and I could already anticipate the pain and the bruises.

I was pulled from sight and not long after that I felt the first jab into my gut. I felt a heel dig into the back of my shin and I gasped but didn't cry out. A weak punch was landed on my face but it still would bruise slightly. I got more knees to the same spot in my side and my leg was kicked in from the back. I collapsed in the corner and they shoved me in the small maintenance closet between the bathrooms before heading to class, laughing and chattering away.

My breaths where short and minutely labored. I was leaned on the wall taking the weight off my leg. I hit my fist on the shelf, angry I didn't punch back. I cursed under my breath before finally trying to leave the closet.

I stumble as I leave and I hit the floor. I let out a soft yelp but in the secluded hall I was sure no one knew. I pushed myself up and limply got to my feet. My breathing was ragged as I moved slowly through the hall.

"Lucy?! What the hell!" A soft yet rough voice called from behind me. I turned slightly to see Natsu. I let out a soft moan of pain, unable to speak.

"Holy shit!" He raced up to me and immediately started looking me over.

"What happened?" He asks seriously. I shake my head, unable to speak. He helps me out of the school and into his car-and let me tell you sports cars are very uncomfortable things when you are injured.

He got in on the other side and sped me home, almost running over someone and running a few stop signs.

"You should be more cautious on the road," I mutter through gritted teeth.

He looked over at me, an unknown expression written in his features. "I'll make sure to do that next time when you aren't injured. Now don't talk, I could almost feel your lungs partially collapsed," he ordered. I glared out the window.

When we pulled up to my house I started to climb out but in a blink of an eye he was beside me lifting me up. I didn't protest because if I did my side would erupt in stabbing pain.

I unlocked the door and he pushed it open. I let my arm fall limp at my side as he closed the door with his foot. Natsu carried me to my room and set me on my bed gently.

"Where's your ice packs?" He asks in monotone.

"Kitchen...in the bottom freezer..." I murmur between breaths.

He leaves but soon comes back with an ice pack in his hands. He grabs a blanket and wraps part of it over the pack thinly before placing it on the side of my stomach.

"Where is your painkillers?" He asks again.

"Bathroom...counter," I sigh as I point at the bathroom door. He nods and heads in, grabbing the bottle he quickly spots. He opened the bottle and poured out the pills, keeping two and put the rest back. He grabs a cup with a small amount of water in it from beside my bed.

"Here," he says gently, handing me the pills and cup. I quickly pop the pills in my mouth and swallow them with the water. I lean back again and close my eyes.

"So are you gonna tell me who did this to you?" Natsu asks as he sits on the end of my bed. I shake my head slowly.

"I bet I could guess who. Only one person would want to beat you like that," he says. I hum softly in response. My eyes close, an exhausted feeling settling over my body. I let myself fall asleep, forgetting about Natsu being in my room.

When I later woke up he was gone and my stomach had been wrapped up while I was sleeping. A found a note on my nightstand and it read:

"Sorry I had to leave. I wrapped the worst part of your injuries while you where out, I figured that would be better for you. Call me if you need anything.

-Natsu"

I smiled to myself and set the torn notebook paper back down. I heard Michelle's voice below me so it was later in the afternoon. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. It was nearly six at night, I had slept almost all day.

But, I wonder where Natsu went...
