Lost

I sat there. I sat here in pure dread. How long was I out? Maybe an hour?

I was given basic first aid. My neck was bandaged my leg had a brace on it. They probably thought I would be unconscious for a while. I had an I.V. on my arm. I sat there as it slowly dripped.

I know I have a high pain tolerance but it doesn't mean I don't feel the pain. I would say it's more like I ignore it.

I know my leg is broken. I ran on it but moving it now doesn't seem like a good idea.

They all saw me fight. Bakugo, Hitoshi, Aizawa, the heroes, my class, they all saw me. Those three heard that they are after me. That someone wants me.

Why?

Why would they help Master break out of jail?

Tears were running down my face.

LOV has no gain in breaking him out of jail.

I thought back on it, 'Eraser. What did Nezu say to you.'

'A group of Villains called the LOV helped break a man out of prison.' Eraserhead bent down only talking to his sons, 'He's underground name is the RingMaster.'

The tears rain down my face. I don't understand. Why would they need each other?

The only thing Master has to offer... is me.

My body trembled. It reverberated down to my broken leg making pain shoot back up. No one is safe with me. No one has ever been safe with me.

I am a plage. I will ever be safe and no one around me will ever get close to me.

I looked around the room I was in. Why isn't there anyone in here? This looks like a hospital. But why would they leave me alone?

On cue, the door busted open. A horde of people coming in. Most of them looked like doctors I recognized two people, RG and Nezu.

"Why isn't he on anesthesia?" One of the doctors asked.

"Hm sir, he is?" Another one said, "There is no way he should be awake."

They have no bedside manners. It is bad enough to earn them all a wack from Recovery Girl.

Just as I predicted she wacked them and huffed out, "This is not how I trained you to act!"

I chuckled at her gaining the attention of everyone, "Oh hmm sorry about that." I brought my hand up to rub my neck.

Just before I touched it RG's cane caught my hand pulling it slowly away. Everyone was quiet as they stared at me. "ahh...Can I talk to Nezu and maybe RG alone?" I asked looking anywhere but those two.

"What for dearie? It needs to wait. How about after I heal you?" RG desperately said feeling the need to use her quirk.

"Recovery Girl we need to hear him out." Nezu looked into my eyes long enough that I looked away again. "Everyone please leave the room."

Everyone eyed us as they left the room. Nezu walked over and turn off the anesthesia.

"Thanks. I was starting to fight it." I looked out the window. It was starting to rain.

"What do you want to talk about?" Nezu asked.

"I don't know what to do." I was so lost.

There were no options left for me. If I ran they would find me. If I stayed they will hurt the people around me. If I go back, they will make me hurt people.

I've become too much of a weapon. Now someone's trying to pull the trigger. I really am a plague.

"Nezu," I couldn't look him in the eye, "I'm so lost." I felt a tear run down my face. Then another one. "I don't want to go back," I sobbed, "but I have nowhere else, else to go." I wrapped my wings around me hiding.

"You are in too much pain please just let me heal you?"

Nezu pulled RG back, "No this is important. How? How was I so blind?"

I tried to chuckle but cried harder, "I've got mad skills." I brought my hand to my neck. This time I rubbed it not caring.

"Can someone please explain what going on?" RG asked. Taking my hand away from my neck again.

"You see. This boy is no other than the notorious Vigilante." Nezu sat next to the bed placing his hands over his eyes.

Recovery Girl was speechless. She stood there until she asked, "Why? Why tell us? How? You are just a kid."

"Either this or run away. Nezu would have figured it out anyway. Plus I don't feel like running." I moved my leg to see if it still hurt.

"Don't do that!" RG yelled at me.

"Your pain tolerance is incredible"

"Don't get me wrong I still feel it. I just prefer to ignore it." I moved my leg again trying to push the pain down, "Yah it hurts."

"I don't care what you two say, I'm healing you right now." RG came over with the intention to see if I had more injuries.

I grabbed her hand harshly. "RG, this is why I let you stay in the room. But," I let a breath out before letting her hand go, "Sometimes scars bring back old memories." I was starting to tremble as a felt another tear.

Both of them leaned forward as RG slowly lifted my shirt. Their eye's widened.

My normal scars are horrible. They bring me bad memories whenever I see them. This time It wasn't just the scars. From the fight, I was covered in bruises, and cuts and the hospital's bright lights showed it well. With those things on top of my scars, I must have looked like a broken toy.

A toy a kid once loved. Worm down. Covered in scars. Abandoned.

I pulled my shirt up a little more. RG looked away first then Nezu.

By their reactions, I quickly pulled my shirt back down, "Sorry. You didn't need to see that."

"Recovery Girl I clearly forgot my place. This is an injured kid who needs to be healed this second." Nezu looked at me with sadness.

"About time you noticed." RG came closer to me and switched the anesthesia back on. I noticed that she also turned the volume up much higher.

"Please no."

"It's ok you do not need to worry." RG came closer to me.

My consciousness was slipping out of my grasp.

"RG please call a staff meeting." Nezu looked at me with a determined face.

"No, please." I tried to gather my thoughts as they slipped away from me, "Please don't tell anyone. Please say you won't."

"Ren." I heard RG's sad voice in the distance.

"I, I just want to be normal, please." I took a sharp breath in trying to get my point across, "If they know, please. I can never be normal if they." I don't know if I said anything else. The last thing I felt was a tear dripping down my face.

________________

Who was the wise guy who put me and my sons in different rooms? Putting us in different ambulances, different rooms. I am starting to see a pattern.

RG healed my arm and wrapped it up like a mummy. She told me she healed as much as she could, but she, herself couldn't grow someone's skin back. Only time could do that.

She was in and out of my room in seconds. It was too fast for me to ask any questions.

It made me worry. She doesn't act like that. She has never acted like that. Something is going on here and I don't like it.

As soon as the dizziness I had went away. I was up looking into every room. A nurse tried to stop me but ran off when I glared at her.

This place is too freaking big.

I found Bakugo first. The nurse in his room said he had a bad concussion and that he need quiet.

He was staring out the window.

I left his room not saying anything. I was opening his door leaving when the room across from me opened showing my son.

"Dad."

My disheveled purpled haired kid stood in front of me. In a swift move, he was in my arms, "You did a great job kid." I hugged in harder.

"I barely did anything."  I could tell he was on the verge of crying.

"Then let's go thank that rascal for talking all the glory." I brushed my hand through his hair, "Do you know where he is?"

"Yeah, he's at the end of the hall." He broke the bear hug and pointed at an identical door at the end of the hallway.

I watched Nezu walks out of it.

Why was he in there?

Why didn't he come to my room first?

We both saw each other and the little mouse came walking up to me.

"You know how to pick out the problem children."

Nezu looked at me when he said this. It came out as a joke, but there was dark humor to it.

He kept talking, "We all need to talk but before I get to that," he turned toward Hitoshi, "Hitoshi from what I have heard, without you today someone in need of saving would have been taken or even killed. Thank you for being a Hero."

I didn't like how he said in the need of saving. It was in the present tense.

"Thank you, sir. That means a lot to me. The one who we should all be thanking is in the room you just came out of."

"Just like I would expect from an Aizawa. To the point with no beating around the brush. Please let go into his room. He is sleeping right now but out of everyone in this whole world you two are the ones who need to know."

We turned around and went back to Ren's room. There was a curtain splitting the room in two. The curtain was closed leaving my son out of sight.

"Don't worry. He is fast-asleep he can't hear anything we are talking about." Nezu stood in front of the curtain keeping us from opening it. "Before we open this curtain I would like to discuss something."

"Principal just like you said we handle things better when you just cut to the chase. Why is my bother causing such a racket?" Hitoshi butted in.

"I will keep this short. Please be patient. The first thing is that your son and brother is in more danger than any of us ever knew. Secondly, I am deeply ashamed and impressed that I wasn't able to find out the truth till now. Thirdly, none of us know Ren Suzuki's real name."

"Please explain more," I asked.

Nezu knew why they wanted the boy with wings. They wanted my son and the answer is right in front of me. Nezu had it and was about to tell me. I wasn't about to ask unnecessary questions.

"It would be easier to show you. But please stay quiet and don't do anything rash."

Why would I do anything rash? What could possibly make me irrational?

Nezu was moving the curtain open. It slid making a raddling sound. The curtain was open and there was Ren.

"I don't get it," Hitoshi said confused.

There was Ren covered head to toe in bandages. His tuff of black hair was a fluffy mess. His wings laying on the bed. He looked like Ren. I don't understand what Nezu is trying to tell me.

"Is he not ok? Why did you build that up so much?" I was getting frustrated. Hitoshi was right we don't beat around the bush.

Nezu held up a bottle, "I would like to show you something. I am indeed ruining the trust I will ever have with this boy. This bottle has a powder that RG gave me."

"If you want anyone in this room to drink it I quit right now." I wasn't about to let that Satin kill one of us.

"No, no it's a strong dry shampoo. Please just watch." Nezu walked over to Ren and dumped it into his hair. Slowly as Nezu shifted the powder through Ren's hair it started to change colors.

"What are you doing?"

"This boy may have many names but to my knowledge, the one we know most of all is Phantom or to a select view Santa's Slave."

Nezu had finished shifting the white powder into his hair. Once white the powder had changed to black. The powder left a cloud in the air. It was clear as day that Rens's hair was a dark green.

It was clear as day, but I've been so blind.

Hitoshi mumbled something I didn't hear. Along with Nezu's Response.

"How could I be so blind." I was shocked. No, I was beyond shocked. I would have never figured it out.

"Don't blame yourself Shota he is a phenomenal actor. I only found out because he told me. I am sure I would have figured it out later, but the fact that I didn't." he left his sentence unfinished.

"Why did he tell you?" it didn't make sense why he would tell someone now.

"It's simple, he is lost. He has no options left to him. So I simply forced him into one for him of course." He paused turning paler than his white fur, "There is also the matter of the scars on his body. RG would have seen them no matter what. I only saw half of his front. I am ashamed to say that I looked away."

"But RG must have seen them all." It was logical. I went to say something else but Nezu started talking.

"She kicked me out of the room, but yes she saw them."

"How bad was it?" Hitoshi added never prying his eyes off of Ren.

"She came out of the room crying."

My eyes looked at the boy trying to see the scars under the bandages.  "Nezu. Is he still my son?"

Nezu huffed, "Technically no he isn't, you adopted a ghost. No clue about the kid's name is anywhere."

The kid I've been looking for since I've adopted Hitoshi I've already adopted. I've already met him. I've already seen him at a hospital covered in injuries. I've already failed.

I spoke deep and low, "He is my kid and no technicality can change that."

"I know. No one will take him away from a family form a technicality. He deserves to be loved more than anyone I have ever met." Nezu stopped then started again, "But there is also the problem of his safety. I will suggest a tracking bracelet and another hero around him at all times."

"Are you already on it?"

"Yes, I am setting up a UA staff meeting. But please don't forget I have lost all trust with the boy. He begged me not to tell anyone. I am not the type of soul who would listen to that type of stupidity. He will not trust you. He may have never trusted anyone in his entire life."

I looked at Ren and my heart throbbed. Why couldn't he tell me? How can I help him? Why? Why was I so blind. What is he going to do when he wakes up?
