It been a couple months since Loki and I have started dating, and it's been the best couple months of my life. The team is finally starting to warm up to Loki, and they're including him in random things the team is doing, like Would You Rather and movie night. They still have him on lockdown, so he can't leave the tower, but they're opening up.

Zaylee is crazy happy. Loki is a great father to her, and she's always wanted that kind of love in her life. Sure, she has me, but I'm more of her sister. Loki is just like her father, whether it comes to boys or tickle fights.

And he's still a great boyfriend. He's a romantic, which is not something I would expect from the god of mischief.

It's a great life. Loki is my boyfriend, the Avengers accept him, and Zaylee finally has the father she needs.

That was before the Frost Giant attack.

"Avengers!" Thor cried, running in. I was cuddled with Loki on the couch while Zaylee, Clint, Tony and Bruce played Cards Against Humanity. Steve and Natasha were intently watching the movie that I had chosen, which was John Wick. Everyone stopped what they were doing to turn to his panicked expression. "The Frost Giants are coming! They want to take back Loki!"

"No!" Zaylee cried. I was in shock. They can't take Loki!

"What do you mean??" Tony asked.

"They have been searching for him for a long time. Since Loki started to date Claudia, he has been getting stronger, and the Frost Giants followed his power here. They came to take they're rightful king," Thor explained.

"Then we fight!" Zaylee cried, jumping to her feet in panic. "They can't take him!"

"They won't," Steve said. "We will fight them. For Loki's sake."

"Well, then, we should prepare for battle," Loki agreed.

"Maybe you should stay here..." Clint said. "If they're looking for you, it's not safe for you to go and try to fight them."

"We're not fighting them without Loki," I said. Zaylee twirled her finger and suddenly she was in her supersuit.

"Guys, Loki's coming, whether you like it or not," she said, glaring at everyone. Tony sighed and started to walk to the basement.

"Avengers, assemble!"

I had changed into my supersuit, which was a formfitting gray outfit with intricate designs in it with black boots. Guns were clipped to both of my thighs and a knife was at my waist. My mask was a gray masquerade mask that was very flexible and comfortable and clung to my skin. Loki was dressed as himself with armor and when he saw me he took a sharp intake of breath.

"You look beautiful," he said.

"This is my supersuit. I kick ass in this," I smirked. "Come on, we have to go show those Frost Giants what's up."
Loki held out his arm and I looped mine through the crook of his elbow. "Let's go."

When we got to the lobby of the tower, I saw Zaylee picking at the hem of her sleeve and everyone else discussing battle plans.

"We can't do that, Tony. Too much damage to the citizens," Steve said.

"Why don't we go over here." Zaylee pointed to the right side of the map. "And fan out around the giants. That way they have no where to go and all the damage is in one central area. When the Frost Giants come down, the citizens will run and there will most likely be no human damage."

"Smart girl," Clint said. "That's a good plan."

"The other guy will keep them from heading east," Bruce promised. "Zaylee, maybe you can use your fire to create a circle they can't cross."

"That works."

I grabbed Zaylee and pulled her over to me while Loki took her place. "Are you okay? You look really nervous."

"I'm fine, Medusa," she said. There's a country accent, a clear sign that she's not. "It's just, Frost Giants against fire girl. Flame and frost don't go together too well. I hate to say this, but I'm scared."

"It's okay, kiddo. Don't worry. Your Lucifer. Your flame is much stronger than their frost," I said. She sighed.

"Okay, Medusa," she smiled bravely. She's the bravest kid out there.

"You two ready?" Steve asked. Zaylee sighed and shook herself before nodding.

"Yeah. Let's go, Captain."

"Of course, Lucifer," he smiled.

Time to fight.

Pretty short chapter but I'm trying. I just finished One Of Us Is Lying and it was so so soooo good. I'm gonna read the American Assassin series next to yay! I love reading.
