Chapter 7 Swordfighting and Romans
It had been a couple of weeks since I'd first come to camp.
I had gotten used to training, eating, and going to the campfire, everything.
After I met Mason, I started hanging out with him a lot.
We were sword fighting today. I wasn't the sword master like Percy, but I could still fend for myself.
He slashed at my chest but I blocked and jabbed at his legs. He jumped back though, and swiped at my right side. I blocked, but he almost got me, so I stepped back and back flipped a few feet away.
"That's not fair!" He complained "I can't back flip."
"Well, ha ha too bad for you." I stuck my tongue out at him.
I then climbed up a tree, got out my bow and arrows, and started shooting them rapidly.
He could hardly dodge them.
I picked up speed and pinned him to the ground with his shirt and pants.
He looked up at me. "Really? This was supposed to be sword fighting, not let's see how fast we can try to kill each other class."
"Hey! I wasn't trying to kill you, I was only trying to win."
"By climbing up a tree and pinning me down with arrows?!"
"Yup."
He rolled his eyes and said "Well, at least help me get up."
"Fine."
I hopped down my tree and started getting arrows off him. When I was down to the last arrow, he sprang up, and put his sword to my neck.
"Let's see who the winner is now." he smirked.
"Hey! No fair! That's cheating!" I yelled.
"Like you just did?" He pointed out.
"Humph. Fine, you win, but only for now!"
"Hhumm." someone cleared their throat behind us.
We turned around to see Will.
"Hey um, Chiron asked me to come get you for an announcement."
"Oh, okay."
We walked started walking to the dinner pavilion.
Since Will was my brother, I had visited the cabin a little in the past weeks.
We talked about being kids of Apollo and what powers they had.
Apparently they were, music, poetry, archery, and healing .
I found out that I could somewhat heal people and was pretty good at music. I was horrible on making poems though, especially haikus.
Like father, like daughter I guess.
Everybody in camp was sitting at the dinner pavilion now.
"So I bet you're all wondering why I told you to come here." Chiron said. "Well here's the reason, the Romans are coming to camp. Thats why we didn't have Capture the Flag last week. So, we are having a Greek vs Roman Capture the Flag tomorrow."
"Awesome!"
"We'll get to see Reyna!"
"I'm gonna gut those Romans and beat em!"
I glanced at Will, to see his expression. He had a poker face.
"Hey how long will they stay?" he asked.
"About a month."
"Ηow come you wanted to know?" I asked.
"Just curious."
"Oh. Are there any Romans you like?"
"Oh a couple," he said thoughtfully. "I like Hazel and Frank of course, and Dakota and Gwen."
"What are the Romans like?"
"Sorta like us, but they're more strict and there are more centuries of demigods."
"Cool."
"I guess."
"You can return to your activities now!" Chiron yelled.
"Well, bye I have to go to healing class." he rolled his eyes,"Most of them only know how to eat an ambrosia block and hope that it'll heal it. There's so much more to it though."
"Yeah."
He walked away.
"So what class do you have next?" I turned to Mason, who was standing with his hands in his pockets.
"Huh? Oh um, archery."
"Let's go!" I said and dragged him away.
AN So how was that chapter? I know it was sorta boring. I promise the plot will advance though. So all region wasn't as bad as I thought it was, I don't think I passed though. We had our town Christmas parade and it was fun. We wore cheesy Christmas sweaters. One of my friends sweaters said "Grandkids warm the heart."and I laughed at it. And our Christmas concert is tonight. I'm excited because it's my first one.
Yours in demigodishness, and all that. Peace out!
