Chapter 3 Welcome to Camp Halfblood
"Hey, Astria, wake up we're almost there."
"Huh?" I woke up with a start.
I yawned and then looked around. We were flying over New York City right now, and would be arriving at Camp soon.
I must have fallen asleep on the Pegasus back. It was weird because I didn't have any bad dreams like I usually did. It was unsettling, like calm before a storm.
When we got there, I gasped. Camp Halfblood was amazing! It had lush green strawberry fields, with ripe red berries just ready to pick. There was also a lake, a ring of different colored cabins, a blue mansion, a rock climbing wall, a sword fighting arena, pretty much anything a demigod could ask for.
"Wow, it's so amazing." I said not caring if anyone heard.
"Isn't it?" Percy said.
I turned to look at him and he smiled at me.
I blushed and smiled back.
Then we landed, and there was a crowd if demigods standing at our feet.
Some of them looked angry at our arrival. Others looked surprised or interested.
A man walked forward. Or, at least half a man. The other half was a white stallion. The man looked kindly at us. "Welcome to Camp Halfblood."
I think he was the famous trainer for heros, Chiron.
"What are they doing here?" A tall girl with stringy brown hair stepped forward.
"Clarrise," Chiron said "They are our guests and always welcome at camp. They are staying here while Artemis is away."
A multitude of voices spoke out.
"Why can't they just hunt on their own?"
"I don't like them or want them here."
"Where's Artemis?"
"Quiet!" Chiron stamped his hoof on the ground. "Artemis is away at olympus, trying to work something out. It is currently not safe for the hunters to hunt on thier own so that's why they are staying at camp."
We got glared at by some demigods, while others were whispering to each other, no doubt gossiping about us.
"Hey Gwen!" Thalia called "take the hunters to cabin 8 for me. I want to go catch up with some friends and I'll be there in a while."
Gwen, the new second in command, nodded then led us to the cabin.
While we were walking, I looked at all the other cabins.
One was red with barbed wire. Another one was like a Barbie doll house. There was also one that had grass growing on the roof and one that looked like a bank.
There were all different kinds of looking demigods too. I saw some that all looked tough and mean and others that had blonde hair and blue eyes, like me.
Then we got to our cabin. It was silver, with animal heads mounted on the walls, and animal skin rugs.
I sat down on a bunk and then asked Wren a question. "Hey Wren, what to we do now?"
Wren was playing with her bow and arrows. "You can explore the camp if you want to."
"Okay!" I said excitedly. Before I went out, I grabbed a mirror to look at my reflection.
My long blonde hair was matted in several spots, and my blue eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep.
"Ugh, I look horrible." I muttered to myself. "You can take a shower you know." another hunter, Nicole said. She had really sharp ears because shed been with the hunters for a couple of hundred years.
"Oh ok I'll go shower then."
I walked to the bathroom and turned the water on.
It felt so good to take a warm shower. I stood in there for about 15 minutes, and then I stepped out.
I threw on a pair of jeans, a black tank top, and some converse. Then I put my hair in to a French braid and went to go explore the camp.
AN Okay, so I know that was probably a crappy chapter, but the next one will be better. Well get to meet some demigods!!!😆
Yours in demigoddishness, and all that. Peace out.✌️
