1 Bride and groom
Damian POV
I took a quick glance in the rear-view mirror of my car. Smiling, I adjusted my tie before getting out of it. I slowly made my way up to the church. My eyes kept wandering over the surroundings. It really was a beautiful day. Hopefully the ceremony wouldn't drag on too much. Because in the church... you never knew.
As I was just arriving at the entrance, my eyes caught sight of a badass looking Ford Shelby Mustang. God it looked good! Either it had been very well looked after or someone had put a hell of a lot of effort into the restoration. Because this sky blue baby was at least 50 years old.
I couldn't help but run my hand over the hood. But then it was time to make my way inside. The first other guests were already arriving. It didn't take me long to find the room where I was
After a quick knock on the door, I quickly heard him tell me I could come in. I opened the door and stuck my head in. And what I saw almost made me laugh.
Will was standing in front of a full-length mirror, fiddling with his bow tie. His fingers were shaking so much that he couldn't really manage it.
"Hi bro... how are the nerves?" I asked, chuckling as I walked over to him.
"Damian, thank god! It's about time. I think you're asking because you can see how well I'm doing here. A little help please?" Will asked, his words coming out in a rush.
Of course, I immediately set about helping my friend. After all, it was my job as the best man to help him make this day go as smoothly as possible. Even if I didn't particularly like his bride. She was always reserved and shy towards me. The complete opposite to Will. But it was probably this opposites attract thing. He loved her more than anything and that was the most important thing.
"Now take a deep breath. Everything is fine. And this day is going to go exactly as you and Savannah wanted it to. The fact that you're nervous just shows how important it is to you." I replied as I stood in front of him and adjusted his bow tie.
Then I put my hands on his shoulders and looked into his shining, happy eyes.
"You're right. I just hope she's okay this morning. When I think about the last few days..." I said almost absent-mindedly.
"Why? What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"What I tell you now is just between us... okay? Savvy and I are having a baby." he said happily.
"Dude, that's great! Congratulations." I replied and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you! We're so happy, I can hardly put it into words. But not a fucking peep. It's a bit early for that." Will then said.
"My lips are sealed. Do you want me to check on her? Then I can report back to you." I suggested.
"Oh, that would be great. And Lucy will be happy to see you too. I'll quickly see if everything has worked out with the car. A surprise for my bride." he replied.
"Oh yes Lucy... Your little sister... Interesting... Wait, you mean the Mustang? It's right outside the door. Awesome thing. I'd love to take it for a spin," I said.
"Maybe you can do that later. I'll drive Savvy and myself to the reception later. She loves these cars. Even if she doesn't know much about them." he laughed and I could tell that his nervousness was slowly subsiding.
"That makes me like her a little more." I laughed.
Will punched me lightly on the shoulder. Then he turned away and grabbed a small writing pad and a pen. He quickly wrote a short note. He folded the piece of paper and then handed it to me.
"Here. Please give this to my bride." he then said.
And with that, I left the room to go in search of the room with the bride. It didn't take me long to find the right room and I knocked. Lucy opened the door. Grinning, she moved aside to let me in. She looked great. But of course it was no comparison to the bride.
