Chapter 49

"Leah you are such a klutz," Mikey teased.

"Nah, just an alcoholic," I winked and he laughed.

"So we were really close?" I asked.

"We still are close," he ruffled my hair.

 "Mikey," I complained.

"Sh, stop complaining," he whispered and I stood up.

"I should get going, I have things I need to catch up on. I also have food to eat," I sighed, feeling my stomach growl.

"Draco already left, so don't go looking for him," Mikey smirked, walking me over to the fireplace.

"I'm gonna miss you girl. I hope your memories come back," he said, hugging me gently.

"I do too," I smiled and then stepped in the fireplace.

"Hogwarts!" I said, and was brought back to Severus's office. I stepped out and brushed off my dress.

"Welcome back," Severus drawled, not looking up from his papers.

 "Gee thanks," I sighed.

"Potter, Granger, and Weasley are looking for you, but I'd like to speak with you first," he said. I sat on his desk and he glared up at me, to which I shrugged.

"You need to know who you really are," Severus said, folding his hands and giving me his full attention.

 "Okay," I nodded.

"You are a prefect for starters, which is the least of your identity. Another thing, is that you are friends with the Gryffindor's. It is all an act though, since you are the Dark Lords daughter. Your father is so terrible, that only few dare speak his name. He kills anybody he sees fit to kill, including an infant. Back when Potter was only an infant, your father tried to kill him, only his mother, Lily, created a love shield so powerful, that your father was destroyed. Lily and James Potter were killed that night, but Harry lived and now you and your father are out to kill him. I don't know if he gave you specific plans for this year, but I do know that it is crucial that you befriend him. Now, it is well known that Riddle's cannot love, and seeing as the Riddle in you is so strong, it is a mystery as to why you love other people. You love Draco, your mother, your father, Mikey, Pansy, and Blaise. There may be more than that, but again I do not know all that much of your personal life. You do have feelings, which you obviously know since you've already felt lovingly towards Draco, am I correct?"

 "Yes, I suppose," I nodded.

"Now, last year you discovered that Lamoure and Clementine Loveland were not your parents, and myself, along with a few other death eaters, killed your adoptive parents and brought you to the Dark Lord. When you found out you were his daughter, you were given a dark mark," he said, taking my left arm and flipping it over.

"This is how you are contacted by the Dark Lord, and it is also the mark of a death eater. The staff is under the impression that Lucius forced you to get one over Christmas break, but this is not true. You are one of the best liars I know, and that sort of thing doesn't go away. I'm sure you can handle it all, though it'll be difficult when talking to your peers; you never know what lies you could have told them," he warned me. I looked at him with a frown and hopped off the desk.

"So I'm pretty badass around here?"

"I suppose you could say that, but be careful Miss Riddle, one slip up and your web of lies could come crumbling down; the best part is you might not even realize it. You may leave," he dismissed me and I nodded, walking out of the door. I started making my way to the Gryffindor common room, and realized I didn't know the password. Lucky for me, Weasley, Potter, and Granger were just walking out as I walked up.

"There you are, Leah!" Potter smiled.

"How are you feeling?" Weasley asked.

 "Oh, I'm fine," I shrugged.

"Well in that case, do you remember how Umbridge wouldn't teach us any real magic? Well we decided to make a defense group for all houses except Slytherin. However, we wanted you to come as well," Weasley smiled. Oh yeah, he doesn't know I have amnesia.

"Right, sounds like fun! When's your first meeting?" I asked.

"Tomorrow," Granger said. Good, I'm supposed to be meeting Sapphire tonight to explain everything. I also wanted to ask what the whole 'Slytherin class' and 'Quidditch' thing was about.

 "What time?" I asked.

"Eight oh clock," Granger nodded. I nodded and then turned back around, heading for the courtyard. I found Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Montague, Blaise, and Pansy sitting around, talking smugly.

 "What's up?" I asked.

"Not much," Draco said, kissing my forehead.

"Um, how's your head?" Montague asked awkwardly.

"Fine thanks," I said coolly. I saw a group of Gryffindor's walk into the courtyard as well, which consisted of Potter, Granger, Weasley, some child, and red headed twins. Draco straightened up and took out a slip of paper, waving it around.

"Yeah, Umbridge gave the Slytherin Quidditch team permission to continue playing straight away; I went to ask her this morning. Well, it was pretty much automatic, I mean, she knows my father really well, he's always popping in and out of the Ministry. Not to mention we've got our very own Leah Riddle on the team," he smirked, slinging his arm around me.

"It'll be interesting to see whether Gryffindor are allowed to keep playing, won't it?" Draco asked, and we all laughed coldly in agreement. I don't know what we're even talking about, but hey, anything to help out my Slytherin's.  Granger whispered something to Potter and Weasley as they tensed up, glaring over at us. Draco looked over at them with a smug glint in his eyes and I smirked.

"I mean, if it's a question on influence with the Ministry, I don't think they've got much chance. From what my father says, they've been looking for an excuse to sack Arthur Weasley for years... and as for Potter... my father says it's a matter of time before the Ministry has carted him off to St. Mungo's. Apparently they've got a special ward for people whose brains have been addled by magic," Draco said and we all laughed. Pansy gripped my arm and I looked at her, which made me laugh for real. I was sort of faking laughter since I had no clue what was going on, but when I saw Pansy cracking up, it made me laugh harder. I felt something collide with me, knocking me back into Draco, who was furious.

"What the hell?" he yelled and I looked up to see Potter and Weasley struggling with some child, who looked like he wanted to kill us all.

"Neville, no!" Potter yelled. They ended up restraining him, and I stood up straighter, brushing off my dress.

 "Jesus," I snapped.

"Leah, how are you?" the one twin asked, walking over.

"Um fine," I said, glaring at the boy who was apparently Neville.

"George, she looks confused," smirked the other twin.

"I would agree, Fred," George said.

"Fighting are we?" Severus asked Weasley, Potter, and Neville as he walked into the courtyard.

"Looks like the bat came out of the cave," Fred snickered and George joined in as well.

"What a surprise," George whispered sarcastically.

"You three come with me, along with you Miss Riddle," Severus said.

"Why me?" I asked and the twins started laughing.

"The headmaster would like to see you," he said. I groaned and faintly rubbed my head, feeling a headache come back. I followed them and then cast a frustrated look towards Draco who gave me an apologetic smile.

"That wasn't funny, Leah," Neville finally said as we walked into Hogwarts.

 "What wasn't funny?" I asked.

"Malfoy's joke about people's minds addled with magic," he scowled, glaring at me.

"Oh please, it was just a joke. Magic is bound to get to my head one of these days," I smiled with a small laugh.

"You don't get it Leah, and you never will," Neville snapped.

"Neville, relax she's a bit off," Potter said, looking at me uncertainly.

"She's been awake for hours, the most trouble she'd have is a headache," Neville said.

"Well I'm fine and I don't understand why you got so angry," Weasley said.

"It's not only that, it's the fact she was laughing. I thought you were on our side, Leah," Neville said, and Severus cast a side glance at me.

"I am on your side Neville, I'm just so confused!" I cried in frustration. By the looks they all gave me, I suppose I am still a great liar.

"Guys, I think I should tell you something," Potter sighed and he looked at me for approval. I nodded and then shivered from the cold. Where's a jacket when you need one?

"When Leah woke up...she didn't remember anything or anyone; she has amnesia," Potter said and Weasley and Neville looked at me.

"Oh I am so sorry! I shouldn't have gotten mad at you," Neville apologized.

"No, it's okay Neville. I shouldn't have laughed," I said apologetically.

"Why'd you get so mad, anyway?" Weasley asked.

"Why don't you ask Bellatrix Lestrange," Neville said, looking at me.

"What does Bella have to do with it?" I asked with a frown.

"Never mind," he muttered as we walked up the steps to Dumbledore's office. Severus knocked on the door and I heard a muffled 'enter' come from the other side. We walked in and Dumbledore looked up from his pensive with a smile.

"Hello, I see you've brought extra students, Professor Snape," he said.

"They were fighting in the courtyard," Severus drawled.

"Leah as well?" Dumbledore asked with a calm smile.

"No sir, she is only here because you asked for her," Severus said.

"Thank you Severus, I will take it from here," he said and Severus nodded, sweeping out of the room.

"Now, care to explain?" Dumbledore asked the boys.

"Well I'm not really sure what happened," Weasley frowned.

"Malfoy and his gang were taunting us about Quidditch, but then Neville charged after him. He didn't get to him though; knocked into Leah however," Potter said.

"I didn't mean to do that Leah, I'm sorry," Neville said.

 "Oh it's okay," I smiled.

"We were only trying to hold him back," Weasley explained.

"Miss Riddle, is this correct?" Dumbledore asked.

"Well yes, basically... well I don't think Draco did anything wrong. It was all harmless teasing," I frowned.

"Were you taunting them as well?" he asked, looking at me over his half- moon spectacles.

 "I was laughing," I admitted.

"Leah was just trying to fit in, really. I don't even think Quidditch was explained to her," Potter smiled.

"It wasn't," I shook my head.

"Now is not the time. Boys, I will only take a mere ten points from Gryffindor, since I do not believe you meant any harm. However, I do need to speak to Miss Riddle. The three of you are dismissed," Dumbledore smiled and they all murmured their goodbyes as they filed out.

"Miss Riddle, what have you been informed of?" he asked.

"Well, I know who my father is and what he's done, I know my friends, I know my mother and what's happened between us, I know my adoptive parents were killed, I am a forced death eater, and I'm a Riddle so I shouldn't know how to love yet I do," I said.

"Indeed that is very true. I do not believe anyone has told you that you are strongly on our side. Now that Voldemort is back, a war has begun, and it is in the shadows for now, but I believe after he is exposed and it has been confirmed he is back, that the war will hit us full force. You, my dear, are the deciding factor to the war. We know this because of a Prophecy that was told only days before you were born. Now, there is a Prophecy about Mr. Potter as well, and you can bet that your father is after both of those Prophecy's. Do not tell Mr. Potter about this, he has too much on his plate already, but Leah, you must know something. In order to keep the people you love alive, you must be on our side. Have you stopped to think what it would be like for young Draco if your father wins the war? He will be tested constantly by Voldemort, and will be worked to the bone. You may think since he is your boyfriend that your father will spare him, but he will not. Not even a possible child of yours would be safe," Dumbledore said firmly. I stared at him slightly shocked; I hadn't even considered any of that.

"Leah, I would like you to be a spy for us," Dumbledore said, and I stared at him for an eternity before I gave him my true answer; I didn't want to lie any longer. This is it, and right now, I'm putting all my trust into one person. I just hope it's the right person.
