Chapter 48
"Where's Draco?" Lucius asked as we all sat around.
"Well...I'm not sure. Probably with Pansy," I said bitterly. I believe that he might like me, but I'm still doubtful since I don't know our history.
"What do you mean?" Narcissa frowned.
"Nothing," I scowled.
"I am sensing some confusion," Bellatrix said, sipping some wine.
"Well, it's complicated. I don't know, just some memories that made me sort of think twice about what they were telling me was true," I said.
"What'd they tell you?" my father asked.
"Well they said we were this awesome couple, but Pansy showed me a memory of them that definitely made me think twice," I sighed.
"Which memory?" Narcissa asked.
"The one in your backyard when they said they loved each other," I rolled my eyes distastefully.
"Oh sweetie, no; if you could remember how you felt about each other, you'd know it was only a bad memory," Narcissa said.
"Well earlier he had this attitude and when he was talking to Montague he had this scary look in his eyes that I never want to see again," I shuddered.
"I'm just terrified because I'm completely in the dark. I don't know what these people are really like, no matter what anyone says," I sighed, slamming my face into a pillow.
"Well you'll remember soon enough," Bellatrix said.
"If you don't we'll just have to rebuild memories," father said.
"Well it's true," he snapped, so I suppose someone gave him a look.
"I need a drink!" I moaned.
"You are fifteen, you do not need a drink," father said.
"I never drink," I whined.
"How would you know?" Bellatrix laughed and I smiled into the pillow.
"You were completely wasted the night you were knocked out," father said, and I looked up to see him drinking his wine.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"That, my daughter, is a conversation for later. As in, once you remember what happened," he smirked. I glared at him and shoved my face back into the pillow.
"So are you married to my mother?" I asked, peeking up at him.
"No," he shook his head.
"Oh...you should get with Bellatrix then. You seem lonely...or do you have a girlfriend?" I asked, sitting up. Bellatrix cleared her throat and looked down, father stared at me blankly, and the others openly gawked at me.
"What?" I frowned.
"She doesn't even know who you are," Narcissa whispered.
"Sure I do, he's Voldemort," I rolled my eyes.
"Sweetie, do you know who Voldemort is?" Narcissa asked gently.
"My dad who looks like he was crossed with a snake," I said honestly.
"That's another story," he said dismissively.
"The point is, Riddle's do not love," Narcissa said carefully.
"Apparently I did," I said.
"You are the odd child in this family," father smirked.
"I still say you and Bellatrix should go out," I mumbled.
"Shut up," she hissed, nudging my leg and we shared a look. I started giggling, which made her giggle, and then Bellatrix, Narcissa, and I were laughing hysterically.
"I don't find this funny," father frowned.
"Oh my God... Leah I think you should date a Weasley," Bellatrix said in a teasing voice, but I just frowned.
"Who is that? Oh Ron... as in the red head who's friends with Hermione and Harry," I asked.
"I haven't seen Ron yet, but I think Harry is decent," I mused. Again I was gawked at.
"Well without the glasses and old clothes...maybe a little fine tuning," I shrugged.
"Leah, no," Bellatrix shook her head.
"I know I'm supposed to hate him, but without knowing anyone at all, I can just evaluate them by their looks. Blaise is hot, and so is Damon, but he's kinda my cousin so that's gross," I said.
"Oh that's nice Leah," said an amused voice over by the fireplace. I glanced over and saw Draco leaning against the wall, smirking at me. I refused to meet his eyes, and just looked away.
"Yes, I know," I said.
"That's okay, Pureblood families have been inbreeding for centuries...will you please look at me?" he sighed.
"Why?"
"I am your friend, not an enemy. Why are you so afraid of me?" he asked.
"Apparently she didn't like the look in your eyes when you were talking to Montague," Bellatrix smirked.
"Are you kidding? I was angry!" he exclaimed.
"Plenty of people get angry, but you don't have to look like a murderer," I said coolly and everyone laughed.
"Leah, you're worse than anyone I know when you get angry!" Draco laughed. I frowned at him and he took my hand.
"Come here, we have a pensive too," he said, getting one out of a cabinet. He pulled out a few memories and I cautiously dunked my head in. I watched as several memories swirled by, all of which showing my eyes bright red with a glint even more frightening than Draco's. I watched myself glare at numerous people, and oh hot damn if looks could kill! I pulled my head out of the pensive and laughed.
"That's hilarious!" I laughed.
"Do I really get that mad?" I asked Draco with a smile.
"Yeah and it's terrifying," he chuckled.
"Well, it's different when for all I know, you could all be lying. I don't know you yet," I said, looking in his eyes again. Something about him sparked my memories, but I never got a full glimpse.
"Kiss her already, dammit!" Bellatrix yelled, and that's all it took. It felt familiar and natural to kiss him, I admit. I felt memories swirl in the back of my mind, and suddenly, I remembered something. I gasped and pulled back, looking at him wide eyed.
"What?"
"I remember something," I smiled.
"What'd you remember?" he asked, taking my hand.
"The first time you kissed me, I was in my dorm getting ready for...um...a party! I was getting ready for a party and oh my god it's there I can see it!" I laughed excitedly.
"Okay, I was in a deep purple tank top and skinny jeans, my hair was pale blonde, and you were talking about black lights! I sat on your lap and I looked at you and BAM!" I laughed, almost jumping for joy.
"That's amazing!" he smiled, hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck and started crying.
"That was the best feeling in the world; remembering," I smiled, pulling back. I spun around happily and saw everyone watching with a bright smile.
"If it only takes one little kiss to jog your memory..." Bellatrix smirked, winking.
"Bellatrix I am appalled you'd think such a thing," I giggled.
"Pansy did too," Draco rolled his eyes.
"Leah?" whispered a woman, walking downstairs. I looked over at her and she ran at me, tackling me with a hug.
"Oh sweetie I'm so sorry!" she cried.
"Oh my God, who are you?" I gasped and she pulled back with tears in her eyes.
"Oh honey, don't be like that," she said quietly. I looked helplessly at my father who rolled his eyes.
"Get off her," he said, pulling her back.
"This is Katie Parkinson," he said with a blank face.
"Mum!" I smiled and she looked at dad with a frown.
"What is she doing?" she asked.
"Hating you," he said and I frowned.
"Dad, just because you hate my mum doesn't mean I have to," I said.
"You two were fighting before all of this happened," he said, waving a hand at me.
"Oh... do tell!" I said, and father pulled out the memory. He dropped it in the pensive and I walked over, peering inside.

I pulled out of the memory as it dissolved and stared at the pensive for a while. So Draco killed Pansy's dad and mum was pissed? Interesting.
"That was intense," I said after a while.
"Why did I cover for you?" I asked, looking at Draco.
"I don't know, honestly," Draco sighed.
"So mum hates me...what about Pansy?" I asked.
"You two made up after you fell off the astronomy tower," Draco said and I nodded.
"So you hate me?" I asked mum. She blinked back tears and took my hand.
"Sweetie, I love you, it was just too much to handle. You were happy that Frank was dead," she said gently.
"Um, no excuse me, he was trying to kill me," I pointed out.
"I know baby," she said.
"You were more concerned about him dying than you were about me being tortured! I'm your daughter, you're supposed to love me more," I insisted.
"I loved my husband, too!" she cried.
"I am more important!" I snapped.
"Please forgive me, sweetie," she begged with tears running down her face.
"No, no way," I glared. She broke down crying, trying to hug me, but I pushed her away.
"I was reunited with you not even a year ago, please don't do this to me," she sobbed.
"Dad," I said, looking back at him.
"Go back upstairs Katie," he snapped, and Narcissa helped her back up the stairs.
"That was weird," I frowned.
"Hey, why was mum crying?" asked a boy who was eating a chocolate frog. He made his way down the stairs and then looked at me.
"Leah!" he screamed, running up and hugging me so tightly I think he broke my ribs again. I screamed out and pushed him back, and then I bumped into Draco. He took my hand and brushed my hair out of my face.
"Are you alright?" he asked with worry. I wiped tears off my cheeks and poked my ribs.
"I'm okay...a bit bruised... everything's fine," I said shakily. Draco looked over at the guy and glared at him.
"Why would you do that?" he snapped.
"What?" he asked with wide eyes.
"She broke her ribs, you idiot," Draco said.
"Why wasn't I told? I'm so sorry, Leah," he apologized.
"Right, it's fine," I said, not going near him. He opened his arms with a smile.
"How about a gentler hug?" he asked and I moved closer to Draco, shaking my head.
"Sweetie, that's your half- brother," Draco smiled. My brother looked at me like I was crazy and then smiled.
"Sorry I missed the party by the way, I was stuck working...yes I got a job," he rolled his eyes.
"I did see you however, little delinquent," he winked.
"Huh?" I asked dumbfounded.
"I work at the Three Broomsticks," he sulked.
"Draco?" I asked in confusion.
"That's your brother Mikey who was supposed to go to the Halloween party you threw, but didn't come because he works in the Three Broomsticks where we went after the party," he explained.
"She knows that," Mikey rolled his eyes.
"She was hit in the head; she's got amnesia," Draco sighed. Mikey looked at me in shock and then demanded to be told the whole story, which I left up to Draco.
