Chapter 4
Alex and I realized we had to get back soon, but not before I spoke to Draco. We walked out of the Dining Room and found Draco lounging on the stairs.
"Listen Leah, I'm sorry," he started to apologize, but I raised my hand to silence him.
"Ariana said that you had helped her, is this true?" I asked abruptly and he looked taken back.
"She said she wouldn't tell you!" he blurted out. My heart dropped into my stomach and I stepped back in surprise.
"How could you help her? She's the enemy! You didn't even tell me about it, or say anything at all! You've brought her to our headquarters where she can get very valuable information!" I yelled and he looked paler. However, when he spoke, his voice was strong.
"I did what I had to do for the benefit of our side. She's useful," he said.
"She is a spy, and not for our side! This won't benefit us, it'll hurt us!" I yelled, advancing on him.
"Leah," he said wearily.
"Draco, I don't understand how you could endanger my family like that," I said lowly, and he glared.
"I don't understand how you could not trust me," he retorted. We looked at each other coldly for a while.
"Then I guess this won't work out," I said eventually, and though I felt like I could die, I sounded confident and cold.
"I guess your right," he said, looking slightly taken back. I gave him a stiff nod and then turned.
"Come on Alex," I said, and as we walked away, I saw Bellatrix and my father watching in surprise.

Alex and I apparated back to the Dursley's house where everyone was seated anxiously in the living room, Dudley looking incredibly pale and deathly; Potter looked terrified.
"Big D, man," Alex said, getting back into character.
"Leah?" Potter asked, and I saw that my eyes had betrayed me. They were the deepest blue I'd even seen, yet bright and barely filled with unshed tears.
"What?" I asked bluntly.
"What happened?" he asked gently.
"Some guy," Alex snorted, but Potter knew what he meant.
"He isn't worth it," Potter rolled his eyes, and I blinked back tears.
"Give Dudley chocolate and he'll be fine," I said and Alex looked at me.
"What kind of bullshit is that? He's got the flu," he glared, and I remembered Alex was posing as a muggle.
"I know what I'm doing," I said coolly, and I grabbed chocolate from the refrigerator. Dudley ate a piece and instantly regained some color and stopped shaking a little. The more he ate, the better he looked.
"That's some weird stuff," Alex muttered.
"What happened with this guy?" Dudley asked, regaining speech and I blinked.
"Oh, nothing important," I shrugged it off.
"Then why do you look like you're going to cry?" Potter pressed.
"Fine, we broke up," I snapped, walking upstairs and slamming the door. I looked at a picture of Draco and me, and grabbed it.
I stared at it for a few moments and then angrily threw it against the wall, shattering it. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, but I didn't move, and also ignored the cut that had formed across my whole palm. So I was getting blood on Petunia's floor, big deal.
"Leah...will you be okay? They're taking me to the doctor really quickly, and I guess you should know Harry got expelled," Dudley said, observing the room.
"I'll be fine," I said, not looking at him. He hesitated, but I heard him leave and then the car start up and pull out of the driveway. So that was fathers plan. Either has his soul sucked out, or get his wand taken away and be expelled. Nice.
After a while, I realized Potter was with me, and he just stared at the picture I had thrown, or what was left of it anyway. I looked at him and he seemed angry, sad, and a bit concerned.
"Why did you go to his house in the first place?" he asked finally.
"I wanted to see him," I lied and Potter nodded.
"What happened?" he dared asking.
"He got Pansy into a dangerous situation and I asked him how he could put people I cared about in danger, and he asked how could I not trust him...so I told him that we weren't going to work out," I said, altering the truth.
"I'm sorry," he said, half sincerely. I shrugged just as my phone rang. I picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number.
Be prepared, the Auror's are coming for Harry and yourself.
"Uh, Harry, Auror's are coming for us," I frowned. No sooner had I said that, there was talking downstairs and then the breaking of a dish. I pulled out my wand and walked downstairs, pointing at each person in turn until I realized they weren't here to literally take us to Azkaban or something. I lowered my wand and saw a few familiar faces like Tonks and Remus... then there was the real Moody and some black guy, old man...old woman; needless to say, a lot of people I don't know.
"Wait, we need to see if it's him," Moody said and I felt Potter approach from behind.
"What form does your patronus take?" Lupin asked.
"A stag..." Potter said and I cocked my head to the side. I didn't know he could cast a patronus.
"Now the girl," Moody narrowed his eyes. Severus materialized out of the back of the group and spoke up.
"What were the last words you said to Draco?" he asked, and I hadn't realized he'd been there. I glared, eyes burning with tears, and Moody snorted.
"It isn't her, Riddle's don't cry," he said, his wand raised towards me.
"No, it's me!" I snapped.
"I said 'then I guess this won't work out'," I said, and then bit my tongue.
"It's her," Severus said, not looking away from me.
"Severus, if you keep gawking I will strangle you," I threatened.
"It isn't every day we see a Riddle fight with her boyfriend, and beloved enemy, Ariana," he smirked. I managed a small smile.
"No, more like every waking moment of my life," I said with a humorless laugh.
"Wotcher Leah, what happened?" Tonks asked, but everyone seemed to be watching me like I was a major threat. Okay, well I am but that's beside the point. I saw my eyes turn red in the mirror and I shook my head.
"He endangered people I care about," I said vaguely.
"Leah, he didn't," Severus said firmly.
"Severus, shut up," I glared.
"So, uh, Ms. Riddle, can you put your wand away?" asked some guy in the back. I realized that while my wand was out, they felt threatened. I stuffed it in my pocket and Moody blew up at me.
"Don't out your wand there, girl! What if it ignited? Better wizards than you have lost a buttock!" he yelled and I laughed.
"Moody, that's crazy," I said.
"Who do you know who's lost a buttock?" Tonks asked skeptically.
"Never you mind, just take it out of your pocket girl!" he ordered and I glared, shoving it in between my bra.
"Happy?" I asked smugly.
"Riddle-"
"Anyway, this is Kingsley Shacklebolt," Lupin interrupted, pointing to the black man. I nodded and him and looked at the people in turn as they where introduced. I didn't even really care.
"Alright, do you have your stuff?" Lupin asked.
"Uh, no," I said raising my eyebrows.
"Well come on then," Tonks smiled. We walked upstairs and I threw open my suitcase. The first thing I saw was the music box, and I honestly had no idea what to do.
"You'll see each other again, and you'll work things out," Tonks said.
"I don't know, I just hate this feeling; like half of me is torn away," I said, and I don't know why I just said that out loud.
"Everything will be okay in the end," Tonks smiled and Potter rolled his eyes.
"Then why'd you break up with him?" he asked and I sighed.
"I was angry that he went behind my back. He must hate me," I frowned, and then shook my head.
"Whatever," I scowled and Tonks shared a look with Potter, which I ignored. I threw my crap into my trunk and then put the ring in the music box, which I hid at the very bottom. We ran downstairs and Moody was impatiently waiting.
"Okay, Leah you're apparating with Lupin, Potter you're with me," he said.
"Wait, I can apparate myself," I protested.
"Yes, but we aren't the secret keepers," Moody said, and then Lupin grabbed my hand, apparating us to the front steps of some muggle complex.
