Chapter 37

"Here," Pansy said quietly, gently handing over my dress and shoes. I waved my hand so they appeared upstairs and didn't look at her as I arranged the flowers around the casket. I put the blade of the scissors in between my teeth and pulled out more flowers, arranging them as well. I found two flowers with a few dead leaves, so I narrowed my eyes and took the scissors out of my mouth, cutting them off.

"Um, Leah," Pansy said, but I just turned my back to her and found the pictures of Alex and Barty that I needed. I also took out their wands and put them in the glass case displayed on the wall behind Barty's coffin. Thank God the lid was closed because this would be really creepy if it weren't.

"Engorgio," I said, waving my own wand and enlarging the pictures.

"Leah, why are you doing this so manually?" Bellatrix asked distastefully.

"I'm bored," I smirked and I heard Pansy sigh. She started walking away and I saw that she changed into a short sleeved cotton dress that really wasn't too flattering. She also had on plain black flats that made her legs look much shorter. I shook my head and then looked over at Bellatrix who was fiddling with the flowers.

"If you just waved your wand everything would be done," she pointed out.

"Yeah but I thought I'd need more time...in reality I don't so I'm dragging this out," I sighed, putting the pictures on the stands beside the coffin.

"I can't say I'll miss Barty, but it's never a good thing when one of our own dies," Bellatrix frowned and I agreed.

"I'll miss him; he was my first partner in crime," I sighed, setting up the lights and enchanting the ceiling so there were stars overhead.

"You also found him, sweetie," Bellatrix said, stopping what she was doing to rub my back soothingly. So I am not sure when Bellatrix and I became friends, but we did. She's a lot like me, and if we ever had to do a mission together, we'd be the best team ever. We're both so vicious that when it comes to each other, we can really relate!

"That is my job," Draco smirked, nudging Bellatrix and hugging my waist.

"You're working too hard on this," he sighed and I turned around to look at him.

"Oh good, you healed yourself," I smiled, ruffling his hair.

"Okay, get that away from me," he said, pulling back. I frowned at him until I saw where his eyes were.

"Hydra will not hurt you," I laughed, petting her head. She's starting to get bigger, yay!

"Snakes are creepy," he disagreed and I giggled.

"So if you were to wake up with a snake in your bed," I said, smiling mischievously.

"I will kill you if you do that to me," he threatened and I laughed.

"Good luck," I winked, waving my wand and setting up the hundreds of rows of nice benches.

"I don't understand how they creep you out. I mean, Hydra is always around my wrist and Nagini slithers around like a BAMF. Come on Draco, look at her," I cooed, brushing Hydra against his cheek. Draco shuddered and pulled back shuddering again. I smirked and shook my head.

"Get used to her," I smiled. Draco made a face and stayed a safe distance away.

"Bellatrix, do you think Hydra is creepy?" I asked, kissing Hydra's head.

"I think it's creepy that you're so attached to her," she said, wrinkling her nose.

"She's such a good snake," I laughed and then added the final touches to the living room.

"Perfect," I said to myself and smiled.

"Well, are you ready for this?" Draco asked and I frowned.

 "No absolutely not," I sighed.

 After the Service

The service was awful because believe it or not, people were crying. Alex's service was pretty painful, and father watched curiously as I started crying again, and then Barty's funeral rolled around. That was brutal, absolutely brutal. Everything was so pretty, but I guess seeing a Riddle cry, it made a few others cry as well. I tried talking through it all, and it worked, and finally the service was over.

"That was great," Draco said softly, hugging me.

"Thanks," I sighed, wiping the tears away. I spotted Yaxley a few feet away and held up one finger to Draco.

"Hold on," I said, making my way through the people.

"Yaxley," I greeted with a smile.

"Hello, my Dark Lady," he bowed and I smiled.

"You know, I've met your son and spoken with him quite a few times. I have to say, I can really see the resemblance...besides the hair," I laughed.

"Oh Leon? He's quite the Slytherin," Yaxley smiled.

"Mm...if he doesn't clean up his obnoxious and disgusting behavior, I will kill him," I threatened.

 "My Lady?" he asked nervously.

"Your son is a disgrace," I said coldly and then walked away.

"You're terrible," Draco frowned and I shrugged.

"Always have been, always will be," I said.

"Should we get back to Hogwarts?" Draco asked, looking at the clock which read 10.

"Yes, I'm, exhausted," I sighed and walked over to Mikey.

"Bye Mikey, I'll see you on Halloween," I smiled, hugging him tightly.

"Bye Leah, and don't be too mad at Pansy, she loves you," he said softly and I just nodded. I walked over to father who was talking to Bellatrix.

"I'm leaving now, father," I said, and he hugged me.

"I shall be seeing you soon," he said, releasing me. Bellatrix pulled me over and hugged me as well.

"Don't hesitate to write," she smirked.

"And cause trouble," father said and I laughed.

"Alright guys, I'll see you later," I said, and grabbed Draco's hand, using a portkey to get back.
