Chapter 30

"Alright I think we pretty much all agree on these songs right?" I asked.

"Yeah, I think. Prefects?" Granger asked. The rest nodded as the groups watched on.

"Wait a second, why are you all the ones who decide the final playlist?" glared Amortentia.

"Because I said so," I smiled.

"Yes, but the younger kids aren't getting any say," she protested.

"You have no party experience. However, what are your thoughts, young ones?" I asked.

"None of us have a problem aside from Amortentia," Orla rolled her eyes.

"Alright then, let's continue," I said.

"For the second year songs, they were all pretty good but Boom Boom Pow is a little old, isn't it?"

"It's party appropriate!" protested Orla. This girl is a problem child.

"It's okay, don't get me wrong. I'm just wondering why you guys went old school. Well...old school for you guys at least. I can understand Disturbia, it's often put on Halloween party playlists."

"We like them," she shrugged.

"Okay, fine. As for the third years, every song was accepted. I was a bit shocked by a few of the choices, but they were good," I smirked.

"What ever happened to voting for these?" Terrance muttered.

"Whatever happened to respect for authority?" I asked back, and he slouched his shoulders.

"Sorry Miss Riddle," he mumbled. I shook my head and looked at the forth years list.

"You picked great songs, no complaints," I said, and they all shared looks of approval.

"Now, you all get to vote on our list," I smiled, and they all immediately huddled up, discussing our choices.

"We're putting all of our choices on the playlist anyway. But, let's let them think they have a say," I laughed, turning to my fifth years.

"We're done," Ginny announced and I raised one eyebrow.

"That was incredibly fast," I said.

"We loved all your choices," Orla sighed.

 "They're brilliant," Dennis smiled excitedly.

"Are those all the songs we're going to have?" Lisa frowned.

"No, I'll come up with the rest later on," I nodded.

"So, I think that we should take a break for today, but I have an announcement!" I said.

"From this Saturday to the night before the party, we will be choreographing our own little dance to Thriller by Michael Jackson. It requires all of you dressed up as killer zombies, and in the very beginning of the party we'll play that as our entrance. The committee members must be announced before the party starts, so when we all pose at the end, that's when our names will be called. Does that sound fun?" I smiled and everyone beamed. They seemed really excited.

"Great, now go get some rest and I'll see you all Saturday!" I said, and they filed out of McGonagall's room.

"You're exhausted," Draco said softly, taking my hand.

 "I'm okay," I smiled.

"I can see you aren't, so let's go," he said, and Pansy walked on my other side as we made our way back to the common room. As we walked, I felt myself getting more and more lightheaded. Abnormally so.

 "Pansy," I said.

 "Yeah sweetie?" she asked.

"I don't feel so well," I whispered before I fainted.

The calming darkness that swirled around me was relaxing and I felt at ease. However, soon the blackness parted and I could faintly see people. Eventually I could see the people and their surroundings clearly.

"Ah, the Carrow's," father said, smiling widely at them.

"My Lord, we wish to speak to your daughter," Amycus said, bowing.

"She is in school. What is it you need?" father asked, folding his hands.

"We found the Riley boy for her. He put up quite a fight my Lord. He killed Rodolfus, but we have him stunned in the basement, tied up and without a wand," Amycus said.

"I will summon her. Very nice job, the both of you," father said and they bowed. Father touched a long slender finger to his left forearm, and frowned.

"Something isn't quite right," he said.

 "My Lord?" Alecto asked.

"I cannot reach her. Why can I not reach my daughter?" father asked, his voice angry.

"Father, she isss weak," Nagini said, slithering into the room.

"How do you know this, my Nagini?"

"Hydra has contacted me; she says her massster has been ssssleeping for a week."

 "Is she dead?"

"No, simply unconscious," Nagini said and father stroked her gently.

"I believe I should pay her a visit," father said, and the edges of the setting became black until the people blurred and the swirling darkness surrounded me again.

This time, though a while after, I didn't see anything, rather felt it instead. The presence of someone, someone who was standing by me filled the room. I felt myself coming back to reality, first feeling my body anchor back to Earth and then the smooth feeling of fabric on my skin. My sense of hearing came back and I heard soft breathing. I could taste the stale air around me and felt that my mouth was very dry. Slowly, my sight came back. A faint glow surrounded me, and I realized that they were candles. I blinked a few times and my sight fully returned. I looked around and saw Draco sitting by the cot in the infirmary, sleeping peacefully, and Pansy next to him. I looked to my right and saw father standing there, watching me with a faint smile.

"Ah, sleeping beauty awakens," he said, and I felt Hydra slither up my leg, across my torso, and then intertwine herself between my fingers.

"Huh?" I asked, and then looked around to see that it was dark outside, and madam Pomfrey was thankfully asleep in her own room.

"How did you get here?" I asked and my voice was really raspy.

 "Severus," he said simply.

"Leah?" Pansy asked with a yawn, sitting up.

"Finally. I thought you'd never wake up!" Pansy said.

"I wasn't worried too much until your father showed up, and then I thought something was very wrong. Didn't stop me from dozing off, though," she said sheepishly. She stood up gently so she didn't wake Draco.

"He hasn't moved from that spot unless it was to bathe," she smiled fondly, seeing my gaze on him.

"If you weren't worried why was he?" I asked, sitting up.

"Oh he wasn't really worried; he just didn't want to leave you. You only passed out because you worked yourself too hard. It's been about a week, we actually expected you to be out for at least two," she sighed.

"Well why are you here?" I asked, looking at father.

"I tried calling you, but I couldn't reach you. I thought something had happened," he said.

"Look at you being all concerned," I teased and Pansy rolled her eyes.

"You sound like a dying old lady, here," she said, handing me a glass of water. I downed it and then lounged back.

"So what's up?" I asked father.

"I'm not going to worry you with it now," he said dismissively.

"What happened?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Everything is fine," he said firmly.

"By the way, Dumbledore postponed Alex's funeral until you woke up. He felt like you needed to be there," Pansy said softly and I nodded.

"Okay," I said. I can't let death get to me anymore; I'm going to be around it a lot.

"They want you to give a speech," she said carefully.

"I hate speeches," I grumbled. Pansy smiled and took my hand.

"I know you do," she laughed.

"Pansy shut up," Draco mumbled, shifting in his chair. Pansy rolled her eyes and smacked the back of his head.

"Wake up, asshole," she glared and Draco opened his eyes, glaring back.

"Are we having a memorial for the death eaters?" I asked father and Draco looked over at me.

"Oh good your awake," he said, and then looked at father in shock.

"My Lord?" he asked, and father nodded his response. Draco sent me a look and I smirked.

"To answer your question, yes we will. Barty seemed to have disappeared into his room, but all is well," father said and I nodded.

"Alright, I'll try talking to him," I sighed.

"No, you will rest for a few days. I heard about this party you're planning and I do not want you to choreograph anything until you are well rested," he said firmly.

"Dad, let's be honest, when have I ever gone easy on myself?" I snorted.

"I'm not asking you, I am telling you," he said, his eyes faintly glowing red. I narrowed my eyes at him and sneered.

 "Fine," I lied.

"Leah, you better listen," Draco said sternly and I sent him a look.

"Draco, shut up," I said and he smirked.

"I'll make sure you behave," he said.

"Good luck," I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Quidditch try outs are tomorrow, too bad you're gonna miss them," Draco said smugly.

"Oh come on! I wanna learn Quidditch," I complained.

"No. After a few days, come see me. We have things to discuss," father said and I grabbed his arm before he left.

"Is Riley back?" I asked, remembering what I dreamt.

"How did you know?" he asked, and I smirked.

"I had a dream about it," I shrugged and he looked at me for a moment.

"Stand up," he said and I raised one eyebrow. I did as he said and he turned me around, pushing my tank top up in the back.

"What are you doing?" I frowned, trying to look back.

"When I healed you, did you feel any pain or burning heat on your back?" he asked.

"Uh, yes? I felt like I was burnt," I said, and he turned me around so my back was to Pansy and Draco.

"Oh my God," Pansy said, and I could tell her eyes were wide.

"We ought to call you Potter, now," Draco snorted.
