Chapter 2
We landed upstairs, why I don't know, but I let go of Alex's hand and pushed him into a room, which happened to be the room I stayed in over Christmas.
"Why were you in a muggle 'gang'?" I hissed and he sighed.
"I was assigned to protect you," he admitted.
"Protect me?" I asked in surprise.
"Yes, Ms. Riddle," he said sarcastically.
"I do not need to be protected!" I protested.
"You couldn't take on Auror's alone. We could together, but not just you," he frowned. I jabbed my finger into his chest.
"You listen to me right now. I do not need anyone to protect me," I said.
"Keep telling yourself that," he smirked and I rolled my eyes. I went to advance on him so I could hit him, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me forward so I fell into him. As soon as this happened, I looked up with a glare, our eyes met, and then the door flung open. Barty stopped and looked highly amused as I pushed Alex back, scowling at him.
"You know, you're supposed to be downstairs," he snickered.
"Shut up, who assigned your son to follow me?" I snapped, and he just shrugged with a smile. Finally I smiled back and walked up to Barty, hugging him.
"You're out of Azkaban... Bella must be here," I frowned. Barty nodded and pulled back.
"Yeah, she is, how did you know?" he said. I just shrugged and ignored him.
"Well Leah darling, let's go downstairs," Alex said cheerfully and I glared at him.
"Stop talking to me," I snapped as we hurriedly walked downstairs.
"Oh, baby come back!" he laughed, following me.
"What's going on?" Draco asked in confusion and I whirled around to see him leaning against the wall.
"Alex is an idiot," I snapped and Draco raised his eyebrows.
"What did you do, Crouch?" he asked angrily.
"See what you did, Leah?" Barty laughed and I faced all of them angrily.
"All of you shut up, and leave me alone! I don't need either of you to protect me and I don't need your smart ass comments!" I raged, my eyes a burning red. I never knew I was so angry all summer until it boiled over. This was the first time my father called me, and I find out someone's been sent to stalk me!
They all stared at me in shock and I burst into the dining room; everyone falling silent. I glared at all the shocked faces, and Alex and Barty meekly slipped in behind me, avoiding my gaze at all costs. Father was at the head of the table, watching curiously and I saw a woman at the head of the table next to him. What the fuck that's my spot. Severus was on one side, fair enough, but this woman? Fuck that. I walked over angrily and stood with my hands on my hips.
"Get up," I snapped and she looked at me with a sneer.
"Excuse me?" she snapped.
"I don't know who you are, but I promise I have the ability to ruin your life and if you don't move I will curse you without hesitation," I threatened lowly, and she laughed coldly, but most definitely not as chilling as mine. Everyone who knew who I was was silent, but this lady, was pushing it.
"Go at the other end, you're just a new recruit," she sneered and I flicked my hand so she was on the floor, and then I snapped so the Cruciatus Curse filled her with pain. Her screams echoed through the room and I just narrowed my eyes.
"Does that hurt?" I asked sweetly, stopping before sitting down.
"You little brat!" she shrieked getting up in a rage.
"Bella," my father said quietly, but it echoed through the room eerily.
"Yes, my Lord?" she asked breathlessly.
"Meet my daughter, Leah Riddle."
"Daughter?" she whispered. I glared at her and she silently and shamefully walked down to the middle of the table. The tale was silent, and new Death Eaters stared at me in fear. Older Death Eaters regarded me respectfully, and Narcissa smiled lovingly at me.
"Well, that was interesting," father smiled and a few Death Eaters chuckled appreciatively. I caught sight of Darius Zabini and gave a slight nod in his direction, which he returned.
"Darling, why don't you introduce yourself?" he asked with a gesture of his hand and I sighed.
"Must I?"
"Yes you must," he fixed me with a look and I stood up.
"I am Leah Riddle, previously known as Leah Loveland, and I am in fact the daughter of Voldemort," I said, gesturing to my dad.
"And your mother," he said.
"My mother is Katie Parkinson," I said, and I saw her sitting next to Bellatrix. I smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Wait why are you here?"
"Because you are my daughter and your father thought I should be here."
"Young love," I teased, and everyone laughed.
"Riddle's don't love," mum said a bit bitterly, and Barty spoke up.
"Leah Riddle does," he teased and I pointed at him.
"You shut up, I'm angry with you," I said.
"Who could possibly love her back? Unless he doesn't," Bellatrix smirked and I hesitated, cocking my head to the side. After everything I've done, maybe he didn't really love me.
"Oh he does," Narcissa chuckled.
"Who is this unlucky young man?" Bellatrix sneered.
"Is it Alex Crouch?" she asked with a laugh.
"She wishes!" Alex smirked but sunk back into his chair when I looked at him coldly.
"Your dear nephew of course," I said sweetly.
"Draco? You're with our Draco?" she asked disbelievingly. I smirked in response.
"He fell for a right witch like you?" she asked angrily.
"Enough," father said, sounding angry.
"I'm sorry," I said immediately and he ignored me, looking at Bella.
"You may have done me a great service, but you will not speak to my daughter like that, and you will not insult her without consequence," he said darkly and Bella trembled.
"Yes My Lord...I am sorry my Dark Lady," she said and I nodded.
The table was silent, detecting the tension that rolled off me in waves.
"I wish to induct some of our newest members," father said, finally breaking the silence. There were only two of us that I knew, but we already had our marks.
"Alex Crouch has recently joined," father said, and Alex stood.
"As well as Leah Riddle," he smiled and I stood as well. Father led us to the center of the room and put a hand on our shoulders.
"I wish to give them an induction ceremony tomorrow night at eight o clock. I expect all of you, including spouses and children, to attend. It will be a formal event," he said and Alex and I bowed to him before walking back to our seats.
"Now, I have another guest I wish to present; Ms. Ariana Dumbledore," he said.
