Chapter 5
There are continuity errors and plot holes because I was rewriting the series before I had to abandon my account.

Why are you bleeding?" he asked, shaking me. I kept my mouth shut and didn't answer as tears streamed down my face.
"Riddle!" Carrick yelled, shaking me again.
"I don't know!" I cried.
"Do not lie to me!" he shouted, getting all up in my face. When I didn't answer again he hit me across the face.
"Search her cell!" Carrick barked, throwing me out of it and into the wall. I cried out and sunk down onto the floor. Carrick grabbed my bicep hard so I wouldn't run, and the two guards searched through stones and whatnot, looking for my 'weapon'.
"No," I sobbed as they flipped my mattress and took my razor.
"Stop it!" I screamed, pulling against Carrick. He took me hard by the waist as I kicked and screamed. The guards put it in a plastic baggie and walked away. I tried going after them, but I was weak, and Carrick was not.
"Give it back!" I screamed like a mad woman.
"Shut it!" Carrick yelled.
"I need it!" I yelled, tears pouring down my cheeks. I could feel bruises forming where Carrick had thrown me into the wall, and where he grabbed my bicep. At the moment, I didn't care. I need the razor; it was like a drug.
"Don't make me stun you again," Carrick threatened, tightening his grip on my waist. He guided me forward and then threw me onto the floor of my cell. I spit blood from my mouth after smacking it on the ground and busting my lip. He locked the cell and walked away in disgust and I cried brokenly on the floor.
It's been two weeks since Dumbledore visited, and seeing as he told me it might be another month, I'm expecting to get out in two weeks. I think its August...it has to be I suppose. I've been getting away with cutting myself, but when I passed out the other day, the gig was up and they caught me the next time I tried it (which was this morning). I've gotta get out of here. I'm going to lose my freaking mind. I don't care if I have to be on the run for the rest of my life, I need to break out of here. I've gotta get back to Hogwarts, if anything.
Maybe if I get enough Prophets and twist them together I can make something to pick the lock. Yes, that's it! Okay todays Prophet is all I have at the moment, but maybe within a week or so I can do it. Then again, not only do I have to pick the lock but I have to get past Carrick and the other guards. While thinking about my escape, my vision swam and I passed out again.

"I don't know...she's been....haven't a clue," I heard bits of a conversation as I began to wake up. I gave a soft groan and opened my eyes against blinding light. I blinked several times as tears started forming and I put a hand up to my eyes.
"Finally," I heard Carrick say.
"Turn off the light," I croaked, my throat scratchy and raw.
"I can't" I heard a smirk in his voice.
"Why not? Oh my God, it burns," I said, and a glass was thrust into my hand.
"Drink," Carrick ordered. I started drinking the water and felt it instantly hydrate my dry throat.
"It's the sun," Carrick snorted, and I shot up.
"The sun?" I gasped.
"Hello, Miss Riddle," Dumbledore smiled as I began to see better. I looked around and saw that I was in a room with plenty of windows and a skylight, which illuminated the room. I looked between Carrick and Dumbledore, and then felt something stir inside of me.
"Lumos," I said carefully, and the lamp in the room turned on. I slowly started to smile, and then happy tears ran down my face.
"You're free," Carrick confirmed, and I jumped up, hugging Dumbledore tightly. Sobs raked through my body, and I was stiff and sore, but hell I didn't care. He gently hugged me back and I clung to him like there was no tomorrow. I hated all of the aurors with a passion, but Dumbledore? He got me out.
"Come, Leah. I will be taking you to Severus's where you can get fixed up," he said softly, pulling back.
"Hold on, I need to get you your things," Carrick said, and I saw that he was unhappy. After he left, Dumbledore turned to me.
"I'm afraid your injuries are beyond healing now," he said apologetically.
"It's okay, I'll be better now that I'm out," I said.
"So why were you passed out for a week and a half?" he asked with a frown.
"Well...I cut myself and they found out. So not only was I bleeding from my wrists, but they hit me and my lip was busted," I said.
"You'll be okay," he promised as Carrick came back with a small, slender box. He also handed me my clothes I came in, as well as my rings, and then he held out the slender box, opening it. Warmth spread through me as I took my wand and I started crying happily again.
"Now come; we must use Floo powder seeing as you are in no shape to apparate," Dumbledore said, and I nodded, taking his hand and stepping into the green fire which engulfed us.
We came out of a fire place in a dark yet slightly classy home. It wasn't large and it wasn't very extravagant, but it was cozy.
"Who is it?" drawled a familiar voice and then Severus walked in. I stood slightly behind Dumbledore and watched happily.
"Hello Severus," he smiled and Sev nodded.
"Do you bring good news?" Severus asked hopefully, and Dumbledore stepped aside.
"I do," he said, and Severus looked at me in shock. After that moment passed, he walked over in long strides and knelt down, hugging me tightly, yet at the same time gently.
"Leah," he whispered, and I hugged him as tightly as possible.
"It came to my attention at the end of the school year that he's like a father to you. I thought it best to let him greet you first," Dumbledore smiled and I thanked him numerous times.
"Are you alright?" Sev asked, wiping away a few stray tears that made their way down my cheeks.
"I will be," I nodded.
"You look horrid," he said and I gave a short laugh.
"It wouldn't surprise me," I said.
"Here, Dumbledore had me take your trunk after school ended, so you can go upstairs and get cleaned up," he said, summoning my trunk. I took it and smiled.
"Thanks," I said, walking up the stairs and into the bathroom. So it wasn't just Azkaban; my eyes really are completely black. The Power of the Phoenix really is gone...and I need to get it back. I was pale and my lip was still semi busted; my figure was skinnier than it ever has been, and dirt was smeared all along my skin. My wrists were just...unexplainable. They were pink and white scarred, and the skin was slightly raised. I was all torn up, yet...it sort of added to who I was. Behind all this dirt and pain, I was still the same Leah. I stripped off the disgusting dress I was in and stepped into the warm shower, scrubbing off all evidence of Azkaban; as much as I could, that is. The water running off of me was blackened, and once it cleared, I moved onto my hair. I leaned out of the tub and grabbed my trunk, finding my shampoo and lathering it through my hair; I repeated about three times. I grabbed my razor, but I didn't want to hurt myself at the moment. I shaved and then turned off the water, grabbing a towel and lotion as well. My skin has been badly neglected. After that I sprayed on perfume and magically dried my hair and body. I pulled on skinny jeans, which I had to magically alter, and a brightly colored flowing tank top. I put on black sandals and grabbed my eyeliner. I got to work making up my eyes and then grabbed my coral tinted lip balm, generously applying it to my lips, which instantly made them smooth. I rarely wear foundation, but I decided to wear it today and then gave my cheeks a little color with blush. I sighed happily and practically skipped down the stairs where Sev and Dumbledore were waiting.
"Ah, you look much better," Dumbledore smiled.
"I decided not to cover my arms. It shows who I am, you know? I'm not ashamed," I said confidently.
"She's already almost back to normal," Sev smiled slightly.
"I got to use magic," I said happily.
"I know," Sev nodded. It grew silent and I held up my palm, staring at it.
"Come on, please work," I whispered, and then clicked my fingers. Nothing happened. Not even a spark, let alone a ball of flames. I clicked my fingers frantically, but still there was no result.
"Damn it!" I cried, sinking down into a chair.
"It's gone," I sighed.
"You have to get it back," Dumbledore said.
"I know," I sighed.
"Don't focus on it now. Come, there's a house full of people that are desperate to see you," Sev smiled.
"Do they know I got out?" I asked.
"No, and we made sure the Prophet wouldn't print anything either," Dumbledore answered me.
"Thank you," I smiled, and then Severus clicked his tongue.
"Wait, let's get you fed," he said.
"Wormtail!" he barked, and Wormtail scurried into the room.
"Miss Riddle!" he exclaimed, bowing at my feet.
"Hello," I sighed.
"Wormtail, fetch her some food," he said, and then Wormtail bowed again, running to what I assume to be the kitchen. I heard a lot of banging around, but finally he came back with a plate of fried chicken and chips.
"Oh God," I said, biting my lip with a smile.
"I need to get fat, ya know?" I asked and laughed as I took the plate.
"Yay!" I squealed and then got to eating.
"This...is really good," I said in-between bites.
"The positive side of Wormtail is his cooking," Sev nodded.
"Do you have soda?" I asked hopefully, and he nodded, summoning a tall glass. I drank that too, and once I was done, Severus took my hand.
"You're well enough to apparate now," he said and I nodded. With a crack we vanished and we on our way to whoever's house everyone was residing in.
