Chapter 23

Draco POV

We went up into my room and she sat on the bed, staring at me with a small smile.

"What?" I chuckled.

"I wanted to give you your Christmas present," she said.

"Oh yeah? What is it?" I asked. She pulled a wrapped box out of her pocket and bit her lip.

I took the present and sat next to her, unwrapping it to find a small velvet box.

"Proposing?" I teased and she laughed.

"Open it," she urged. I did as she said and found a silver ring with a black and silver Celtic design through the middle.

"I figured since you gave me a promise ring, I'd give you one too," she blushed. I smiled and put it on, tilting her chin up so she'd meet my gaze.

"I love it," I said and then kissed her slowly. She smiled and put a hand on my cheek as I ran my hands up and down her sides.

"Love you," she muttered against my mouth.

"Love you, too," I said.

Leah was dead asleep next to me as I traced circles on her back. We kissed for a while and then we talked until she fell asleep. It was near midnight and I carefully disentangled myself from Leah. She stirred slightly, but only burrowed deeper into the blankets. I walked across the room and opened the door, slipping out into the hallway.

"Jesus," Thane said when we almost collided.

"Sorry," I whispered.

"I think I got lost...am I on the right floor?" he frowned.

"No," I chuckled, "you're a floor above me."

"Hell...okay thanks mate. Leah in there?" he nodded to my room.

"Yeah, she's passed out though. Why?"

"I was looking for her earlier to talk about Violet's Christmas gift, but no worries," he shrugged.

"Ah. Yeah I wouldn't wake her up," I chuckled.

"Where are you off to?"

"I need to ask Leah's dad something important. I need his approval for something, if you will."

"Have fun...night," he said.

"Night," I grasped the small velvet box in my hand and made my way to see Voldemort.

Leah POV

"Leah!" Mikey screamed and I ran out of Draco's room.

"Mikey!" I screamed, running up and jumping into his arms, my legs wrapped around his waist and my arms around his neck.

"This is the first time I've ever seen you so happy in the morning," he said with a smile.

"Don't be cheeky," I laughed.

"I missed you," he said, crushing me against him.

"Put me down and we can have pancakes with chocolate chips and whipped cream!" I said and he set me down as we ran off into the kitchen.

"What are you two doing?" father asked as we ran past him to the stove.

"Having some fun," I laughed.

"You're up early," father said in disgust.

"He was yelling down the hallway, I had no choice."

"Let's go we're leaving in an hour...well...you're not," Mikey smirked and I smacked his cheek lightly.

"Shut up," I said and then moved to make the pancake batter. Thane made his way into the kitchen and waved. I waved back and handed him a glass for the orange juice sitting on the table.

"What's been going on with you? Something about dying..." Mikey raised his eyebrows.

"Morfin almost killed me," I sighed.

"Why are you always on the brink of death?" Mikey frowned.

"Death is inevitable," I sighed dramatically, sprawling against the wall in a highly dramatic fashion.

"We all face it eventually; some sooner than others," I continued and they started laughing.

"My time is almost near," I said, slowly sliding down the wall. Father rolled his eyes at me and I clutched at my heart.

"I will greet death with open arms as it takes me away," I said and then clutched my throat, dying with a little melodramatic flare.

"Oh God," Draco muttered, walking into the kitchen in just his boxers.

"Put a shirt on," I ordered and he smirked.

"Are my abs too much for you?" he asked.

"This is a kitchen," I said, standing up and the boys stopped laughing at my death display. I spun Draco around and pressed my hands into his surprisingly muscular back, pushing him out into the living room. I discretely let my finger tips graze his skin as I pulled away. I saw him shudder and almost laughed, but I contained myself.

"Go," I ordered.

"Aw but I only have about thirty minutes left with you," he said, wrapping his arms around my waist and burying his face in my neck. I groaned in exasperation and fidgeted.

"True but I want to go see Mikey, too," I complained. He trailed kisses up my neck with a smile and I sighed.

"Mikey can't do this," he taunted under his breath. I relaxed slightly but tried to stay firm.

"Go get dressed," I said.

"Nah," he whispered, placing gentle kisses along my jaw now.

"Draco," I scolded, but he tightened his arms. He reached my lips and teased me by placing kissing on each corner before kissing me full on. I took that moment to push him away.

"Go get dressed," I smiled and darted off into the kitchen. I could hear him laughing in the living room.

"Tease!" he called.

"You shouldn't be talking!" I called back as I snatched the whipped cream off the counter.

"Are the pancakes ready?" I was bouncing on my toes.

"Yes!" Mikey smiled.

"Then let's eat!" I smiled.

***

"Movie time," I sang, walking into Thane's room.

"Jeez it's hardly even seven o clock," he groaned.

"We have plenty of movies to see, okay? You're lucky I waited this long. I was ready to go right after everyone left for vacation," I laughed.

"Well then come on. Ariana will meet us there, she said she had to visit her father really quickly."

"Cool," I said, taking his hand and apparating us to Thane's house. I looked around and then nodded.

"Very nice," I complimented.

"Thanks...eh, we have a room just for movie marathons upstairs," he said sheepishly.

"You're like...rich," I said.

"Yeah," he sighed.

"Why do you seem so embarrassed?"

"It's not that I'm embarrassed. It's just that my dad is never here so it's all so...empty," he said.

"Oh...wow," I raised my eyebrows.

"Why have all this stuff if there's no one to share it with?" he shrugged.

"Get a dog," I suggested.

"A dog?" he laughed and I smiled as we walked into the movie room.

"Whoa this is like being at the cinema," I said.

"Pretty cool, huh?"

"Definitely," I smiled.

"Alright, let's get this over with," Ariana yelled up the stairs and I popped my head out the door.

"Get up here!" I said and her footsteps grew closer until I saw her head.

"I'm not happy," she glared.

"Oh well!" Thane and I chorused.

Draco POV

"Ciao!" a flurry of blonde hair engulfed me.

"Ciao," I chuckled.

"It is so good to see you Draco!"

"It's good to see you, too," I said.

"How have you been?"

"Great I suppose," I shrugged.

"Draco, Rosa, come in here and say hello to your favorite aunt!" a voice hollered from inside the villa. We groaned and reluctantly headed inside.

"Oh my lovely little niece and nephew," Aunt Lucia smiled, kissing our cheeks.

"Chance!" she screamed.

"What?" my irritated cousin walked down the hall.

"Say hello to Draco and Rosa," she said.

"Sup losers?" he ruffled our hair. Rosa started muttering in Italian and I glared.

"Don't touch me," I said and he laughed.

"Draco's big and tough now," he rolled his eyes, running a hand through his hair.

"What's new baby cousins?"

"I've been accepted as an intern for the Beauxbaton's headmaster," Rosa said proudly.

"That's great!" I smiled.

"Draco, get my stuff," Mikey said, walking up and gesturing back to the door.

"Um, no. Mum get our stuff," I pointed to the door as she walked in.

"Cute," she snorted.

"Where is your girlfriend?" Chance asked.

"I thought she was supposed to be here," he wrinkled his nose.

"Her father has her..." I rubbed the back of my neck.

"On a sort of house arrest," Mikey finished my sentence.

"We all know Leah isn't staying in that house. They're over Thane's tonight," Mikey said.

"Oh that's right. Their scary movie night," I laughed.

"Isn't Leah a big deal in the wizarding world?" Rosa asked.

"Oh please, Draco couldn't land a girl of importance," Chance chuckled.

"She's the Dark Lord's daughter," I said casually.

"What?" Rosa gasped.

"Oh please," Chance narrowed his eyes.

"It's true. I actually wanted all of your opinion on something. I already went to her father," I pulled the box out of my pocket and Mikey smiled.

"Oh my God...you aren't..." he smiled.

"What do you think?" I opened the box and she screamed.

"That's beautiful," Rosa put a hand to her mouth.

"Wow," Chance looked mildly impressed.

"Mate...she's gonna flip," Mikey said.

"And her father approved," I smiled.

"When are you asking?" Rosa asked.

"Sometime in June," I took a deep breath.

"Why are you waiting so long?" Rosa whined.

"So all the chaos of this year can settle down."

"She'll be in the asylum," Mikey whispered.

"Are you kidding? She'll find a way out of that," I laughed.

"Or she'll be dead," Mikey said quietly.

"Whoa what is with your girlfriend?" Chance made a face.

"She has too much dark magic in her," Mikey said.

"Interesting..." Chance said.

"I want to meet her," Rosa smiled.

"All in good time," I shut the box and put it away.

Leah POV

"OH MY GOD!" Ariana whisper screamed and I smacked her arm.

"Jesus Christ!" I hissed, hiding my face.

"Hell," Thane said, wide eyed and holding my free hand tightly.

"Okay I preferred Paranormal Activity and watching that bitch get dragged down the hallway," Ariana cried into my arm.

"This is better than Last House on the Left," I reminded her.

"I almost threw up watching that," she shuddered. Then we screamed as more foolishness happened. We stayed hidden behind our hands and finally the movie ended. The cinema lights turned on and I shook my head.

"Nope, nope, that movie was not okay," I said.

"Scared?" Thane whispered in my ear and I punched him.

"You made us go to the late showing and now I'll never sleep," Ariana groaned.

"It was really good though. Told you that would be a good film," we walked out of the theatre.

"Let's all grab hands now," I said as we made it to the side of the building. We joined hands and apparated back to Thane's house.

"Are we done with scary movies? Can we watch Peter Pan now?" Ari asked with a cheesy smile.

"Who's there?" called someone from the kitchen.

"Oh damn there's someone here they're probably gonna murder us," I whispered in panic, gripping Thane's arm.

"Hello?" he called, gripping his wand.

"Thane, it's me," Carrick walked out of the kitchen.

"My good friend Carrick!" I smiled.

"Oh goodie, it's you," he deadpanned.

"Dad...what are you doing home?" Thane frowned.

"It's Christmas," Carrick shrugged.

"Oh yeah guys...Merry Christmas," I smiled sheepishly.

"I have presents back at Leah's," Ariana sighed.

"Same," Thane and I said. We laughed and then I shrugged.

"Can we just crash here?" I asked.

"Sure," Thane nodded.

"Game room," he pointed upstairs.

"Do not get into any trouble," Carrick watched me carefully.

"Yeah, yeah," I rolled my eyes. We made our way upstairs and I summoned over black sleep pants and a tee shirt. I changed really quickly as Ariana and Thane did the same and then we met back up in the game room. I claimed the guest bathroom right across the hall to change in so I wouldn't get lost.

"Alright, I'm exhausted," Ariana crashed on a bean bag chair.

"Then sleep," Thane said, tossing her a blanket.

"Thanks," she said and I'm pretty sure she fell asleep within seconds. I eyed the Xbox and Thane smirked, throwing me a controller.

"Bring it," he smiled.

***

"You upset me," I pouted and he laughed as I grabbed another Monster. My hair was up in a messy bun and basically I looked like a bum. An attractive bum.

"It's four in the morning," Thane laughed as we put in Just Dance 4.

"Yeah but after I kicked your ass in Black Ops 2 there was no going to sleep. I'm too hyper."

"I'm going to laugh when you crash," he chuckled and then a crack filled the room.

"Hey!" someone greeted, grabbed my arm, and then apparated us.

"Oh my God!" I yelled when my feet were firmly on the ground. I shut my eyes and took a sip of my Monster to settle my stomach.

"What the hell?" I held my hand out in case I needed to use magic.

"Hey Leah," Draco smiled. I looked around and noticed we were in Italy. We were in Italy.

"Merry Christmas," he kissed my cheek.

"Why am I here at four in the morning?" I asked, slightly amused and slightly outraged.

"She's pretty!" chirped a voice with a heavy Italian accent. I looked over to see a blonde girl with hazel eyes and rosy cheeks. She looked kind of like a model.

"I'm Rosa, Draco's cousin," she held out a hand. I noticed she was wearing a belted dress and heels...at four in the morning. I am in pajamas with my hair up and a Monster in my hand. There's something wrong with this picture. I took her hand and shook it in confusion.

"I'm Leah," I said.

"She's really pretty Draco," Rosa beamed and he smiled.

"Yes she is," he nodded.

"Er thanks," I said.

"By the way it's five in the morning here," she said and I laughed in shock.

"Oh so you kidnapped me at five? Makes much more sense," I rolled my eyes.

"Ah so this is Leah?" asked someone else.

"Who is this?" I frowned.

"My cousin Chance," Draco sighed.

"Cousin?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes..."

"What?" I asked.

"Yeah," Draco laughed.

"But he's tan..."

"Uh huh."

"With black hair..."

"Yeah."

"And hazel eyes..."

"Indeed."

"He's a Malfoy?"

"We don't all have fair skin and blonde hair," Draco laughed.

"You're a Riddle?" Chance asked.

"Obviously," I took a drink of Monster.

"She's classy," he snorted.

"She's great. I wish people here were so laid back. She looks like a teenager," Rosa sighed.

"People aren't laid back in Italy?" I asked in doubt.

"Well...not our family," she sighed.

"Hence the reason the ass over there in dressed in a designer shirt and hundred dollar jeans and the princess is dressed in a designer dress and heels," Draco smirked.

"I helped Draco pick out your present!" Rosa said.

"Well I was kidnapped...so it's a good thing I already gave him his," I glared.

"Oh please, you were at Thane's you weren't even home," he snorted.

"Yeah and I was kicking ass," I said as some woman walked in, eyeing me up.

"Who is this uncivilized child?" she wrinkled her nose.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"You, you look like a slob. Peasant," she spat.

"Who do you think you're talking to?" I snapped and mum walked in.

"Oh Leah darling," she said.

"Leah please, don't cause trouble," Narcissa hurried in.

"Mum she's the Dark Lord's daughter, don't start shit," Chance said, staring at me.

"Aunt Lucia, really, she's from England it's different there," Rosa pleaded.

"The Dark Lord's daughter?" Lucia asked, squinting her eyes.

"Need me to prove it?" I glared.

"Of course not...but I am deeply sorry. You are very welcome in our families villa, please, forgive me," she said.

"I suppose I'll forgive you for your ignorance," I spat.

"Leah, be nice please," mum sighed.

"I like her," Chance smiled.

"Wow, that's the first time he's ever liked someone," Draco muttered to me and I laughed.

"Give Leah her present, I'm impatient," Rosa demanded.

"Jesus, alright," Draco said, walking down a hall way. When he came back he had a wrapped box and a smirk.

"What is it?" I asked suspiciously.

"Open it," he said and I tore the wrapping paper off, peeking inside.

"I see fabric," I said and then pulled the lid off completely to find a really pretty dress.

"Now it's not designer," Draco said.

"But it is pretty," Rosa smiled. The bottom was black and slightly puffed out while the top was black and white striped with a black bow and it was really cute.

"I love it," I beamed.

"Ah, there's more," he pulled a box out from behind the couch and I felt excitement start to tingle in my stomach. When I tore off the box lid and gasped Draco came up behind me.

"Now they're designer," he whispered in my ear.

"These are Jimmy Choo's," I gawked and he chuckled. I set the box down and squealed, throwing my arms around him.

"Thank you!" I said and everyone chuckled.

"You are very welcome," he kissed me.
