Chapter Twenty-Eight
"What'd you guys do to her?"
"She should have woken up by now."
"Nah we only JUST gave her the other half."
"She'll be fine."
I heard a bunch of people talking and I squeezed my eyes shut tighter to block them out.
"See, she moved."
Ugh, shut up! Maybe I should open my eyes and see what happened. What did happen anyway? I opened my eyes and saw Fred holding me and I was tilted back as if he caught me.
"What did you do to me?" I asked angrily. Fred smiled and George laughed.
"We were trying our new candy, Fainting fudge and it works!" George announced. I scowled at them and Fred helped me steadily to my feet. I looked around and saw Weasley staring at me sorrowfully and I realized he was the first one I heard speak. I looked away and Ginny reached behind the couch.
"Here, want this?" she smirked, handing me a butterbeer.
"Yes please," I said. She tossed it to me and I opened it, taking a big sip.
"Are you encouraging her to get drunk?" Granger asked, raising her eyebrows.
"No, I only gave her one!" she defended but I saw her flash another bottle at me. I smirked and sat down next to her and then took another big swig of butterbeer.
"Listen, Leah..." Weasley started but I turned away from him and chugged the rest of my butterbeer. When Granger wasn't looking, Ginny passed me another one.
"You're being stupid," I heard someone say, and I thought it was Weasley, but it turns out, it was Longbottom.
"Excuse me?" I asked, swallowing my mouthful of butterbeer.
"Are you really going to drink that and then go back to the Slytherin common room? Look what happened last time," he said, trying to look out for me. I shook my head and smiled.
"I'll be fine, dearest Neville," I smiled. Potter smirked at me and Ginny looked pleased.
"I'm the fun friend," she whispered and I giggled.
"How do you feel?" I asked her, and everyone nodded and Weasley looked confused.
"What do you mean?" he asked and I glared at him.
"I cursed her," I glared.
"You did what?" he yelled, standing up angrily.
"Ronald, sit down! We'll explain later!" Granger said heatedly. He hesitantly sat down and I turned back to Ginny.
"I feel fine," she smiled and I nodded.
"I better head back," I sighed, standing up.
"Are you sure?" Potter asked.
"Yeah, I'll see you guys later!" I called and I left the common room. I slowly made my way back downstairs and realized that tomorrow that the other schools were arriving. That should add some spice to the school year.
I reached the dungeons and paused, feeling my mark itch, but it wasn't burning like when he was calling me. Instead of going into the common room, I went to the potions classroom to find Severus. I opened the door and found Severus searching his supplies furiously.
"Professor?" I asked, stepping in.
"Yes, Leah?" he asked, his back still to me.
"Well...what are you doing?" I asked, not being able to concentrate without knowing.
"Has Potter and his gang been using ployjuice potion?" he asked, angrily spinning around to look at me. Does he not know about Barty?
"No, Severus. Not that I'm aware of," I answered truthfully.
"Do you know of anyone who is?" he asked, and this time I had to lie.
"No, nor do I have any idea who might be," I said steadily, knowing I could pull off this little lie easily. Severus slowly nodded and walked over to a pile of papers, which he then began to read.
"The reason I came down here was because...well, my mark. It started itching, but it didn't burn. What does that mean?" I asked, sitting on his desk. He looked up at me with his eyebrows raised, probably because I was sitting on his desk. I smiled brightly, which annoyed him, and crossed my arms, waiting for an answer.
"He was either calling or contacting someone else," he drawled.
"That's it?" I asked, slightly disappointed.
"Yes, what'd you expect?"
"I don't know, something more fun than that."
"Sorry to disappoint," he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Fine, I'll be out of your hair then," I said, heading out the door and to the common room.
"Pureblood," I said and walked inside.
"Pansy darling, thank you so much!" I sighed, walking over to the couch and sitting down next to her.
"Draco, who is this?" asked an unfamiliar voice. I looked to my left and saw a chubby boy and his friend sitting there.
"That's a highly stupid question," I said coldly.
"Hey, don't speak to me like that," he said taking out his wand. I laughed eerily like my father and stood up.
"And what do you think you're doing with that?" I asked. Draco chuckled and stood up too, followed by the two new boys.
"Come on Draco, what are we gonna do to her?" asked the skinnier one. I raised one eyebrow and laughed quietly.
"Yes Draco, whatever will you do to me?" I asked.
"Petrificus totalus!" the chubby boy shouted, but I was too quick, using a silent counter spell.
"Oh, you'll have to be quicker than that, boys," I scolded. All three had their wands out, and I knew Draco was doing this just to see if he could beat me, but the other two were in it to really fight. Wow, my second duel in one day.
"I'll start out easy on you. Stupefy!" I said, and then nodded when he blocked it.
"Aw good, you know how to block. Locomotor Mortis!" I said, and the chubby boy's legs locked together. He fell down and dropped his wand, which I picked up while keeping myself angled towards the fight.
"Oh too bad, now your turn!" I smiled cheerily to the other boy.
"Crucio!" he said and I was shocked he used it. I didn't block it in time and it hit me.
"Goyle!" Draco snapped, but I wasn't feeling pain. I take that back, slight, and I mean very slight, pins and needles all over.
"That was weak," I said in a bored tone.
"Immobulus," I said and he fell down, unable to move.
"Aw, now it's just you and me," I smirked to Draco. He barely smirked back when he threw the first spell at me.
"Rictusempra," he smiled and I had no idea what spell that was. When it hit me all I could do was laugh. I still had my wand, but I dropped to my knees laughing.
"Stupefy!" I gasped out and the laughing stopped as he blocked it.
"Immobulus!"
"Fernunculus!"
"Petrificus totalus!"
"Expelliarmus!" I shouted and it just missed. I frowned and dodged his silent spell.
'Stupefy!' I thought, and finally, Draco was knocked backward. He was conscious and shocked. I held my wand to his neck and bent down.
"You can't beat me, babe," I smirked, and then helped him up.
"Finite Incantatum," I said, releasing the random boys from their spells. They stood up and glared, ready to fight again.
"Here, take your wand," I said lazily, throwing his wand at him. He caught it and I turned to Draco.
"Who are they?" I asked in disgust.
"This is Crabbe," he said, pointing to the chubby one.
"And this is Goyle," he said, pointing to the other one.
"I don't like them," I decided. Draco laughed and so did Pansy.
"Just because they don't bow down to you?" Pansy teased. I smiled and nodded.
"Exactly!"
"I haven't seen them before," I said, stating the obvious.
"They've been on vacation, the stupid gits," Pansy muttered, but I heard her.
"Alright, whatever! First things first, don't ever try to duel me, don't expect Draco to fight me, and lastly, I will speak to you however I please, and you will NOT give me any sass or I will hex you into oblivion. Understand?" I asked, and they glared.
"Draco, who is this bi-" Crabbe started saying but Draco cut him off with a glare.
"This is my girlfriend," he said annoyed.
"Well she acts like she rules the school," Goyle scowled.
"I do."
"Hey, I heard some spells going on down here. Who used Crucio?" Blaise asked, coming downstairs.
"Oh, Leah's back. It was you, wasn't it?" he asked, sauntering over.
"No Blaise. Do I sound like a guy to you?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"Of course not sweetie, but walls tend to muffle voices," he said, patting my head. I scowled but Blaise just slung his arm around me and smiled.
"Draco, your girlfriend is the perfect height for me," Blaise said, looking down at me slightly.
"Yeah well, hands off," he snorted.
"Yeah, sod off Blaise," I smirked and he pretended to be appalled.
"Why never has anyone been so rude to me!" he gasped. I laughed and sat down next to Pansy, away from the idiots.
"Wait so who actually did use the Cruciatus curse?" Blaise asked, sitting down on the chair next to the couch where Draco and his little posse were sitting.
"That idiot Goyle," I snorted. Draco smirked and quoted me from the first day of school.
"That's highly unattractive love," he smiled. I smiled back and quoted him.
"You love it really," I shrugged. He chuckled and his goons laughed hesitantly also.
"Do you two have brains of your own?" I asked, becoming highly annoyed.
"Leah, I love you!" Pansy gasped out, laughing so hard that she fell on me.
"Pansy you weigh a ton!" I teased. She gasped and sat up.
"Maybe I should tell Ronald that kiss was a set up!" she teased back.
"I dare you," I said, rolling my eyes. She shook her head and magically put out the fire in the fireplace.
"Well, Leah and I need our beauty sleep so we can break some Durmstrang guy's heart. Those other schools are coming tomorrow! Tootles everyone!" she smiled, leading me upstairs. I got into my pajamas and slipped into bed, thinking about how dangerous this tournament could possibly be.
