She's A Lady

Like the three following words: Loyal Leading Ladies, I have three leading ladies that help pathe my road. These ladies all joined in my journey at different times, with intervals spanning of years in between.

(1) Larger Than Life: Mother

(2) Live, Laugh, Love the Lord: Mentor

(3) Lovely Ladies Living: Wattpad "Ladies on Life"

My mother definitely is larger than life. Having had numerous careers within the teaching field and animal aid, her passion for both have her leading a life with the motto that there's always something to learn, you just need to sit and listen. Animals have a voice, just quieter and needing a bigger ear to hear. A woman who loves dance, of any sort, boogies like no one's watching - not like she'd care if anyone was. Navigating her adult life with her fair share of hard knocks, she says firmly, "don't be a doormat and let people walk all over you." It's a lesson that still hasn't gone through my thick skull. Her life goal is to live a fulfilling life where she can look back and say, "wow, I did all that!" Also, managing to retire by the time she's old enough to collect senior benefit discounts would be nice.

My mentor lives, laughs, and loves the Lord. She's married to a wonderful man with beautiful children both inside and out. A friend of my uncle, she knew me before I knew her! Wise beyond her years, her wisdom is something I desperately sought at that time where my life felt like it was falling to shreds. I wanted guidance from someone, a woman unrelated to myself, to give me counsel through the highs and lows of my life. But I gained so much more than truthful and always caring advice. I gained a loyal friend who has decided to stick it out with me even when things get ugly. I have grown closer to her from 2013 to now, and we are continuing to deepen our friendship through Him. As Romans 12:5 says, "we are all one with Christ."

Last, but certainly not least, the lovely ladies living on Wattpad, of whom I just met within the last six months. Age is just a number, it doesn't define what you can or can't do or if you're 'too old' to do it. It's just life trying to put a tag on people, but it's up to us to decide how we look at the double figures. So I've kept in mind that a milestone becomes a millstone when there's a void of aspiration for the future. I've also learnt that maturity develops and flourishes with age, and these ladies are the best examples of fine wine. Continuously growing as a writer, I've gotten a chance to live with their characters, experience what they feel, and learn lessons along the way. Among the themes of inspirational reads is live with the choices you make, regretting them is okay, but you must accept them for what they have caused and move forward.

Thank you, my wonderful Leading Ladies in life, I don't know where I'd be without you!

A/N: I encourage you to #JustWriteIt and take on the #LeadingLady challenge. Surely there must be extra special ladies who've helped lead you. Who Run the World? Girls! as Beyoncé says. XD

I'm dedicating this chapter to the LOL-35 aka Ladies On Life 35+
