The nindroid sighed, calling Kai's phone for the hundredth time tonight. He knew Kai would be in the club but not this kind. Zane felt so bad for his friend. Kai only came to this place to forget about his cheating lover, his own “brother”. Crythor was so heartless to Kai, cheating on him was the last straw after getting abused both verbally and physical. Maybe even- No Zane, be kind…

He started fighting with himself but stopped as he saw Kai. The poor boy was drinking in the corner, all alone. He sighed approaching his friend. Noticing how Kai was wearing a crop top with shorts. Almost like a girl.

Kai smiled, hugging Zane.

“Zaney!!!” He smiled, clearly intoxicated. “I missed you!!”

He smiled, pulling Kai slowly out of the club. Guiding through the crowd to the exit, surprisingly without getting into a fight with anyone. Once outside, Zane noticed how Kai was walking like he had to left feet, tripping over the place. Picking up the fire ninja, Kai started to slurred his words even more. Talking about random things like how he loves his sister, how he misses his friends or how he had been training more recently. But not touching on the topic of why or how he was at the club, nor anything about Crythor. As if he didn't remember or want to. Kai giggled and hugged Zane as he was carried.

“hey Zane, can I ask something?”  He smiled.

Zane nodded, jumping Kai up so he would have a better grip.

“... do you like me?” He asked in a small voice, “.. like .. do you have a crush on me?”

Zane felt his face warm up like a normal human being, blushing. So he found it hard to talk.

“yea.. I do…” he admitted.

Kai smiled, laughing. Not at Zane, but at something else. Himself and the choice he made a long time ago.

He squeezed Zane tighter, burying his head into Zane's shoulder. Mumbling random words. Or his mistakes. Dating Crythor, leaving his friends, his family or even putting away his feelings for Zane.

It didn't take long until they got to the the bounty. For Zane to carry the drunken Kai to their still joint room, to set him on the bed. He turned to leave to feel something tugging his shirt behind him. The droid turned behind him to see Kai pulling on his shirt, looking distraught. He was dozing before they had gotten home.

“... don't leave please…” he begged, about to cry.

Zane kneeled down, “I won't… I promise”

Crawling into the bed, cuddling Kai. Who fell asleep quickly, snuggling the ice droid closely. Zane watches Kai's face as he slept, peaceful and in bliss. Must be having a wonder dream. Or happy that he's cuddling Zane, hoping it's not too late for them to be a couple.
