The Circus

The ringmaster travels from town to town, staying for only 3 nights. Never more. His assistant is always by his side. They call her the Siren.

Each town is different. Not too big and not too small. However, there's one town that seems to be better than them all. See, he doesn't run an ordinary circus. When you enter the circus, you earn a small stamp on your hand. A tiny black circle, with a different colored dot in the middle. If only people knew the dangers it would cause. You watch his show, each room is different than the next. Each room has their own act. It's own special creature inside. You walk through the circus and you get to leave. On the third night though, something different happens. His assistant performs, her voice puts everyone under an almost hypnotic spell. The doors slam shut and are instantly locked. That's when people begin to panic. The ringmaster steps out, and shoves his assistant aside. He explains why this is happening. In order to keep such a wonderful act grand, he needs new creatures. Of course people try to protest but with a wave of a hand, they're in agony. See, that small stamp on their hand? It would make people feel an excruciating burn. Generally, people submit after they realize this. He shackles them up and leads them away. This is when the selection begins. He sizes them up, and studies them all. Then he hands them to his assistant, who leads them away, to an machine that's extremely tall. One by one people enter and leave, at least if they passed his test. Those who don't, get their memories wiped clean, and are sent away. They won't remember a thing. To those who pass, they'll enter and exit the machine, looking different than before. When you step inside you come out as a creature. An actual one. From that moment on, you'll go through training. Preparing to put on a show. No one has ever escaped before. Those who've tried have been punished severely. Will you escape the circus, or will be stuck performing forever?
