TWO DAYS of not having Avis around was not new to him, pero hindi pa rin siya mapakali at hindi makapag trabaho ng maayos. Caleb massage his nape, nang maramdaman niyang pati ang likuran ay nananakit na sa kakapirma ng mga papeles, kaka attend ng mga meeting at pag-aaral niya.

Tumayo siya at humiga sa hospital bed na nasa loob ng opisina niya. Then a flashback of Avis caressing him to fall asleep cross his mind. He missed her. That's the truth. Hindi na niya lolokohin pa ang sarili.

"Damn." He hissed.

He covered his eyes using his arm. Hindi din ito tumatawag sa kanya, the operation must be too important. He knew because Caliber was like that too, he won't bug him when he's having a major operation. Pero hindi pa rin nito nakakalimutan na magpadala ng nurse sa opisina niya para i check up siya.

He looks like a freaking patient after his work as a Doctor.

Caleb chose his own path. Kaya wala siyang karapatan na magreklamo, aside from him, being a Doctor, he was also practicing Pediatric surgeon. He just found himself doing it. What could be the reason? Wala sa sariling natawa si Caleb.

"Dang it? What the hell am I thinking? It's like not she'll be gone for another years." He murmured lazily.

Kung pwede niya lang din sapakin ang sarili gagawin na niya. When he asked Avis if she really need to go, gusto niya itong pigilan, gusto niyang sumama, but when he remembered how he begged that night and how he convinced Avis to let him go to her. She left.

He realized, that maybe, Avis had enough of him. Enough of his attitude. He was not aware but he's a manipulative son of a bitch. Just like how he manipulated Avis to be his sex partner, he knew Avis was still harboring feelings for him and he take advantage of it.

He seduced her.

"Damn man! You suck!" He groaned again and change his sleeping position.

"Yeah right, you suck. I mean who the hell will let a woman stay inside our secret haven and introduced her to us as a freaking friend? Do friends fuck? If yes, what will be the benefit?" Napabalikwas nang tayo si Caleb nang marinig ang boses ni Light.

His lips parted when he saw his friends. Ang iba ay nakaupo na sa sofa at ang iba naman ay nasa sahig na. Funny, they're all here.

"What the hell?" He exclaimed.

His friends smile cheekily and they all shrugged their shoulders. "Surprise Bud?" They all said in unison.

"We have a special liqour from Alistair's mini bar, don't mind his sour mood and drink this ti'll our hearts content." Jyrelle said and lift the liquor.

Tumaas ang kilay niya. "Excuse me, this is a freaking hospital. Not a damn bar!" Singhal niya sa mga kaibigan.

"Alam namin." Kade said.

Caleb massage the bridge of his nose. "Then, what the fuck?!" He hissed.

"Calm down! We're here to help you move on, ay wait may balak ka ba mag move on? Kasi sa lagay mo parang wala. Pero para makainom kami ng libre, ayos na 'yon na dahilan." Castiel said like it was the most amazing idea.

"Who says I'm moving on? Who says I'm fucking broken hearted?!" He asked them.

"Luh, galit na naman." Castiel pouted and hide behind Yves back.

"Chill. Uminom ka nalang, oops. Kakain ka pala muna." Nakangising tinuro ni Laur si Yves na hinahanda na ang pagkain niya.

Samantalang ang mga kaibigan niya nilabas na ang mga shot glasses at ang sisig na pulutan nila. They even have a desserts!

"What with the sweets?" Nakangiwi na tanong ni Dylan.

"That's actually for my daughter, Khaila. Naalala ko lang kanina nang dumaan tayo sa coffee shop sa tapat, then this moron!" Kyst kick Kade's leg. "Forced me to give him some, ipangpupulutan daw niya."

"Remind me not to get drunk. I'll buy for my baby too." Dylan said.

"Bud, your son is like months old? He can eat but only a little. Ibili mo nalang cerelac." Hindi niya mapigilan na sumabat dahil siya ang Pediatrician ng anak ng mga ito. Muntik na din siyang maging pediatrician ng asawa nito, because his dumb friends didn't know his specialization.

Frances looks like a 18 below kid.

"It's not for my Love. It's for Frances." Dylan corrected him.

"Imagine Dylan, pagkalaki ng anak mo syempre papasok na 'yan sa school. Tapos syempre highschool, uso na 'yung mga crush crush non! Tapos may classmate siya na babae syempre tapos kapag tatawagan anak mo. "Love, paki gawa naman nito" okaya "Love, sa bahay mo nalang tayo gumawa ng project". Bud, his name is like a endearment!" Castiel exclaimed.

"Oh tapos? Anong gusto mong gawin ko? E sa 'yun ang pinangalan ng asawa ko." Pabalang na sagot ni Dylan rito.

"Keep on eating, Caleb." Parang nanay na sabi ni Yves. He just stop for a while dahil baka mabulunan siya sa mga tarantado.

"Paano kapag ikaw nagka anak? Ano ipapangalan mo?" Tumatawang tanong ni Mikael kay Castiel.

Castiel caressed his chin and act like he's thinking. Pero sobrang bilis naman kung sumagot.

"If it's a boy I will name him, Thunder, Dark Sky, Winter and Lightning McQueen. At kapag naman babae, Sunny, Cloudy, Snow and Sakura." He proudly answer.

"Really? Lightning McQueen? Baka imbes na 'unga unga' ang magiging iyak ng anak mo 'ka chow! ka chow!'" Killian said and even imitated how baby's cry and how McQueen said his line 'ka chow'. 

Napailing nalang si Yves nang mapuno ng tawa ang office niya na sobrang tahimik kanina. These idiots really was a God sent when there's a time like this. Pero kung sa normal na araw lang at inistorbo siya sa pagta-trabaho, baka pinalayas na niya ang mga ito. They even solicit a liqour inside his hospital.

"Done? Mauna ka na doon. Itatapon ko muna 'tong kalat mo." Yves said and started to packed the lunch box.

"Thanks Bud." Tinapik niya ang balikat ni Yves at tumango lang ito sa kanya.

Caleb joined them and tried to have fun. Tsaka na niya iisipin si Avis. Now, that his stomach was full and he cleared his mind. He's sure that Avis will be back, and when that day come. Sisiguraduhin niya na bibigyan niya ito ng dahilan para siya naman ang piliin niya.

"I'M REALLY thankful you're here. God, I don't know what to do. I can't find an Ob-Gyne who's too good at her work like you." Napailing si Avis. She can hear the sound of relief in his voice.

"Yeah," she answered.

Avis was looking straight to the patient. Napakaraming aparatus ang nakalagay sa katawan nito, but her eyes only settled on her stomach. There's a baby in there...

"She's strong, you know. I kept asking her to be strong, after my rounds I'm staying inside the ICU for an hour and talk to her. I believe in the saying that even if the patients was in deep sleep, they can still hear us." Napangiti si Avis at tumingin sa matalik niyang kaibigan.

"That's your habit, Justin. Si vous n'êtes pas l'enfant du propriétaire de cet hôpital, vous vous plaignez depuis longtemps d'être entré aux soins intensifs même si ce n'est pas votre patient." If you are not the child of the owner of this hospital, you have long been complained about entering the ICU even it's not your patient.

Justin likes to interfere with someone else patients. He likes to roam around the hospital and talks other patients. Others called it troublesome, pero natutuwa pa rin naman ang mga ito sa pinaggagawa ni Justin.

"I just love comforting them." He answered.

"To think that we need to wait for 4 more days to operate her, it's killing me." Avis suddenly said. Kahit nag-aalala siya ngayon sa posibilidad na baka mag back to zero siya pag balik niya sa Pilipinas, mas lamang pa rin ang pag-aalala niya sa pasyente nilang dalawa ni Justin.

8 months pregnancy was more dangerous than 7 months. 8 months was the full development of baby's brain and other vital organs such as lungs, eyes, heart, immune system, intestinal system, and kidneys takes place in this final term of pregnancy, at kapag sa pang walong buwan ito lumabas, the baby have a very low chance of surviving without neurodevelopmental impairment.

But they can't wait any longer. Lumalala na din ang sitwasyon ng nanay nito. The woman faced a very critical accident, it was a miracle that she and the baby were alive. But months after her operation, she started to feel a severe headache that cause her to have seizures. It turns out that the previous hospital and the doctors was not competent enough. Kumbaga, inoperahan lang siya. Tapos. They didn't check her thoroughly.

"Why don't you check her? I can't wait too. We need to remove the blood on her head. And I'm planning to save both lives." Justin cooly said, pero halata sa mukha nito ang kaba.

"Tomorrow. I'll check the baby." Paninigurado niya.

"That's good to hear. Why don't you head home first? I mean, you're only here because I askes you a favor. You're not literally working here, you should rest."

"Yeah. I should do that. I'll call Marga too, that mongrel might be looking for me now." Hindi niya kasi nakuhang magpa-alam sa kaibigan. After the call from Justin, umalis agad siya kinabukasan.

"How's she?" Justin asked suddenly.

Avis smiled and poked his cheek. "Ayiee, you miss her? Don't worry she's good. Last time I checked she's single. Always. And she stopped playing. Well, she never played in the first place. Why don't you asked her to come back here? Maybe that'll help to fixed your marriage." Payo niya rito.

Marga and Justin were a couple. Naghiwalay lang ang mga ito dahil sa hindi pagkakaintindahan and she's out of it. Hindi na siya nagtanong pa.

"Don't show her ass here. I might impregnate her so she'll stop having an affair, she's pissing me off."

"It's not like she's... ahmm... having sex?" She blurted out. She would know. Siya ang kasama nito sa bahay, and she never brought any man home. Marga would just say she's going out to meet some guy.

"She know what will happen to her if she dares being intimate with someone other than me." Justin scowled.

"This is why I'm telling you to lock her!" Natatawang suggest niya rito.

"Maybe, I'll tell your man too to tie you?" Ganti nito sa kanya. She blushed when she remembered how exactly Caleb tied her. "Anyways, tell that friend of yours to go home."

Napangiti si Avis. Ang gulo talaga nang mag-asawa na 'to. Avis was sure that they're going to fight again once they saw each other, isusumbat ni Marga kung ano man ang pinag-awayan nila noon, at isusumbat naman ni Justin ang pagb-boyfriend nito — na hindi niya alam kung saan nito galing ang ideya— habang kasal sila. But in the end, they'll still end up together. Hopefully, Justin will realize that he's being manipulated. It's kinda tiring to watch.

Nang makaalis na si Justin. Doon lang nawala ang ngiti sa labi niya. Bagsak ang balikat na lumabas siya sa hospital, may iilang nurses pa ang nakakakilala sa kanya at kinamusta siya. She plastered a smile once again.

Nang makasakay na siya sa sasakyan na hiniram niya sa Daddy niya, she stared at her fingers, napangiti siya nang makita ang singsing na ibinigay ni Caleb.

"Damn, dalawang araw pa lang tayong hindi nagkikita miss na miss na kita. I'm tempted to go home and stay beside you, pero hindi pa pwede." She whispered.

Avis open her phone and smiled when she saw her lock screen. It was Caleb. She took the photo the moment she woke up. Topless si Caleb at magulo pa ang buhok, he was so handsome, lalo na at kalahati ng mukha nito ang kita sa picture. Nanlalaban ang tangos ng ilong nito.

"Promis, ce sera la dernière fois." She whispered while looking at Caleb's picture.
