Personality:  Sara Sinclair is a soft-hearted person at her core. She means well and wants the best for everyone, which contributed to her previous naiveness before she grew and became wiser. She is genuinely friendly, but if people whom she cares about, such as her husband or her children, are wronged, then she will fight on their behalf until the end in the calmest way possible. However, in that situation, she loses control of her emotions easier than she usually does. When dealing with personal conflicts, she is much more emotional than she would be if it involved people whom she was not close to. She loves to make people smile when she can and is generally a very friendly person unless she is crossed. Her favorite pass-time is anything musical, such as singing, songwriting, or playing violin, which she is all very talented at. She prefers to do activities like this with her children and her husband, but she also enjoys doing them with her friends as well. She is also a black belt in karate and uses her skills to teach self-defense to her family and loved ones.
Sara is selfless, which is a blessing because it allows her to be there for her family and loved ones more, but also a curse because she often fails to take care of herself on many occasions. Despite generally being shy and mild-mannered, she is also feisty if the situation calls for it, such as if she is being degraded or if someone whom she cares about is being mistreated. Though Sara has gained more confidence over the years and does not avoid conflict as she used to, she still generally has a shy and quiet personality. Her shyness is often mistaken as standoffishness and her quietness is often seen as ignorance. She is also slightly quirky and catches people off-guard with funny clap backs as well as unusual remarks (though these clap backs and remarks are not impolite unless the situation calls for it).
Although she is a romantic, she is also a realist, and her idea of romance involves friendship as well as the importance of family. Though she has learned to be confident over the years, Sara still cares too much about what other people think and often panics around people whom she wants to impress, which is her fatal flaw. She also has a habit of diving into her work to escape her problems. When people whom she cares about are in need, she insists on helping them, but often refuses to acknowledge when she is in need. Though she is sometimes stubborn and occasionally impulsive, she is very intelligent and knows how to work with people very well. She is also independent, efficient with assessing problems, and skilled at coming up with solutions.
Sara Sinclair may be a difficult person to understand on the surface, but one must truly get to know her to realize that underneath her mysterious exterior lies a little bit of darkness and a lot of sunshine.

Character Arc: Sara Sinclair (born Sara Abrams) was born and raised an only child in Covington, Louisiana to a shady emergency nurse (her mother Faith Sinclair) and a corrupt criminal prosecution lawyer (her father Dominic Abrams). When Sara was only nine years old, Dominic was arrested for obstruction of justice and beaten to death in jail, which prompted Faith to change Sara’s surname for her safety and give her away to a foster home just before Faith died of cancer. Sara was abused at the foster home and was never adopted. As she grew older, she became interested in nursing because she wanted to help people like her mother and decided to study to become a nurse anesthetist. Faith suffered through many surgeries due to having acute myeloid leukemia which is ultimately what led to her death.
The anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists were often careless with the anesthetics, which motivated Sara to go into the anesthetic field because she did not want people to suffer like her mother suffered.
Sara graduated high school early at the age of sixteen years with Summa Cum Laude and was awarded a merit scholarship to Harvard Medical School, where she obtained an associate degree in nursing after six years of college. Though she barely failed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing the first time, she passed it the second time with flying colors and obtained her registered nursing license after graduating nursing school in two years at the top of her class. Then, she went on to become a Registered Nurse Anesthetist one month later, applying for a job at the best hospital in Covington, where she was quickly accepted.
Sara quit six months after working at the Covington hospital upon discovering that the hospital and its staff were corrupt and cared only about money. She moved to Malibu, California to apply for a job at Community General Hospital two months later. Though she was more than qualified for a position at the hospital, the only person who trusted Sara was the hospital’s medical pathologist Amanda Bentley because she and Sara were both foster children and, as they eventually discover, former foster sisters. After discovering that Sara transferred from a corrupt hospital, many found it difficult to trust her, but she was hired anyway because the hospital needed her skill and there was no evidence that she was corrupt herself. As things progressed, however, Surgeon Doctor Mark Sloan, Emergency Doctor Jesse Travis, and Mark’s Police Lieutenant son Steve Sloan began to trust her as she continues to prove herself as a worthy ally. The more time that she spent with them, the more that they made her feel like part of a happy family, as she grew to see Mark as a father, Steve as a brother, Amanda as a sister, and continued to form close relationships at the hospital, in her profession, and elsewhere. After spending two years working at Community General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Sara decided to continue her nursing education to become a General Nurse Practitioner while she was still working at Community General Hospital and accomplished her goal two years later.
Though Jesse and Sara initially got off on the wrong foot when Sara mistook Jesse’s overly friendly personality as coming off too strong and Jesse mistook Sara’s shyness as being standoffish, they gradually grew to understand each other and eventually formed a close bond after being trapped in a malfunctioning elevator together. After being best friends for slightly over two years, Sara and Jesse realized that they wee in love, though they were both too anxious to admit their feelings to one another. After hesitating for two months about proposing to Sara due to his insecurities, Jesse finally decides to pop the question while he and Sara were on a casual outing, but just before he was about to do so, he and Sara were caught in an explosion and trapped together under the rubble of a demolished building. After Jesse fell unconscious, Sara finds his proposal ring under the rubble and spoke to him about it when he woke. Assuming that they were both going to perish, Jesse proposed to Sara while they were trapped, and Sara accepted. They said their vows to each other while they were confined to the debris of the ruined building just before Jesse went into cardiac arrest. Sara managed to save his life by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him. Miraculously, they were rescued by their friends and the fire department, and the young couple began planning their wedding as soon as they recovered, tying the knot one month later.
One year after Sara and Jesse get married, they decided that they wanted to have children of their own and began trying for a family as soon as they made their decision. Nine months later, Sara gave birth, through a Caesarean section, to fraternal twins: a boy named Stark, which is a combination of Steve and Mark’s first names, and a girl named Mandy, which is a play on Amanda’s first name. After taking four months off work for maternity leave, Sara decided that she wanted to be a stay-at-home mother as well as a homemaker, so she resigned from her job while Jesse continued to work and be the breadwinner for his family.
Two years after the birth of her children, Sara was framed for financial conspiracy. When criminal defense attorney Benjamin Matlock arrived in California to defend Sara, Sara discovered that the plaintiff, though guilty of financial conspiracy, was also falsely accused of medical malpractice years ago by Sara’s father. However, it was revealed through a mutual friend that it was Sara’s mother who convinced Sara’s father to convict the plaintiff so that she could steal money for her own expensive cancer treatments, which led to the death of many people. Sara’s father was charged with obstruction of justice and imprisoned in jail where he was beaten to death by his vicious inmates. Sara worked with her friends and family to solve the case as she painfully came to terms with the fact that her mother was not as heroic as she believed.
Sara slowly began to uncover more about the true nature of her family tree and was confronted by demons of her past that involve her parents as well as their corrupt ways. However, she managed to overcome those demons with the help of her loved ones and the strength that she found within herself. Sara Sinclair lives a comfortable life in Malibu, California with her husband and her children in a quaint little hobby farm near Malibu Beach.
