"What do you mean? What are you talking about?" He asked.

"I-i love you" She repeated nervously.

"How could you? I mean we are just friends and nothing more than that and you know that I have a woman whom I love with all of my heart" He said

"But i-i thought ....." He cut her off.

"Enough is enough Layla! Just because I considered you to be my friend and I cared for you doesn't mean that I love you and you took all the care that I have for you as love? Wow! Wow! You know what you're just so childish" He hissed.

"What do you mean I'm childish?! I just told you that I fucking love you and this is the answer that I get?" She shouted.

"Look please better get me out of your mind I have way more important things to do than listen to you" He left the backyard.

And just then 'Can we kiss forever by Kina' started to play it was supposed to play right after he said those three words back to her

She immediately regretted ever telling him about her feelings how could she be so foolish to think that Aaban loves her? Now she has ruined the small relationship they had

She cried and cried until her eyes turned red and the song was adding to her pain

"Why! Why me!?" She shouted on top of her voice and smashed the cake to the ground.

"Why do I have to keep falling in love with someone who will never love me? This is the second time he is rejecting me and he called me childish as well!" She sobbed.

She later fell asleep on the grass

10:00am

She woke up immediately and saw herself in the guest room in her house

She thought that Aaban brought here but her smile dropped when Falisha came in with a steaming cup of hot chocolate

"Falisha what are you doing here?" Layla asked.

"I called you but you didn't pick up that's why I came" She dropped the cup on the nightstand.

"So it didn't go well right?" She asked with a pitiful smile.

"He did it Lisha again!" She started crying on her cousin's laps.

"It's going to be alright Lay I'm sure he didn't do it delibretely" Falisha said.

"What do you mean? He said all those things to me by mistake or what? And on top of all that he didn't look as if he regretted all that he said and he didn't even bother to check up on me"

She stood up angrily and went to her room to freshen up

"Layla please have something you didn't eat anything since you woke up please" Falisha said.

Layla collected the cup of hot chocolate and drank it all before handing the cup back to Falisha

"And that's all? I made some yummy pancakes for us come one let's go and eat" Falisha dragged her hand to the dining room

"Are they nice?" She asked her cousin who was lost in thoughts.

"Yes yes they are really amazing" She faked a smile.

"What of your exams?" Falisha asked.

"I only have two papers today thankfully and they are starting by one"

"Okay" Falisha said and just then Aaban came into the house looking terrible and devastated.

Layla threw the spoon she was eating with on the floor and right in front of his feet

"Get out of my house!" She yelled not looking at him

He continued walking but she pushed him away before he could even step of the first stair

"Don't let me repeat myself get the hell out of my house I hate you!"

"Your feelings do not matter to me so why would I care if you hate me? And as far as I know,we didn't contribute in buying this house" He said looking at the floor.

She stood in front of the stairs flashing him a daring look to try and pass so he did the unexpected

He pushed her away and she was about to fall but he caught her hand

"Leave me alone you beast! So you were planning to injure me right?!" She removed his hand from her wrist.

"Let me warn your for the first and last time Aaban Muhammad don't you ever in your life touch me again and as from today,we don't share any relationship with each other again and don't you ever talk to me again!" She declared which was clearly said out of anger

"Aaban why?" Falisha stared at him with tears in her eyes.

He was about to speak when she cut him off

"I don't need to hear anything from your filthy mouth ever again! And all this just because she confessed her feelings for you? Men are all the same!" She said.

"Look Falisha this is between my wife and I" He said with no remorse.

"Your wife and you? Just wow! I'm not blind remember and whatever happened happened right in front of my eyes I saw everything and you call her your wife? The woman who did nothing but loved you and you humiliated her?"

"Now that she has helped you to change for the better this is what you repay her with? You men are all beasts and all of you are the same! You just use someone and get whatever you want from him and then let them go just like that"

"Falisha!"

"Don't call my name or my cousin's ever again you know what? You don't even deserve such a kind hearted woman like Layla wallahi cause she deserves better! Way more better than your filthy self" She said and ran upstairs to her cousin.

"Falisha he doesn't feel guilty right?" Layla asked.

"It's alright babe,I've taught him a great lesson"

They hugged each other and cried in each other's arms cause they both have been betrayed and used

Falisha left earlier and Layla was making lunch before leaving for University

She was cutting carrots and her attention wasn't even there so she didn't know when she cut her left hand she just felt her hand getting wet

"Oh gosh! Innalillahi wainnailahi raji'un" She turned on the tap quickly

"Layla! How could you be so careless?" Aaban rushed into the kitchen immediately and grabbed her hand.

Her anger immediately rose up and she snatched her hand ignoring the pain she felt due to her cut

"Who gave you the right to touch my hand? Haven't I warned you?" She glared at him but he ignored her and dressed her wound up while she just stared at him waiting for him to finish

"Now that you're done with your so called duty which you just found out about let me go" She said.

"No! You're not going anywhere you can wait till tomorrow" He said and she let out a dry chuckle.

"And who are you to tell me what to do?" She asked.

"I'm your husband and ....." She cut him off.

"So called husband you know what? Even if I didn't have exams today,I wouldn't have stayed in this house because you said so"

"But your university is not more important than your husband's order" He said which is the most stupid sentence she has heard in years.

"To me,my studies are more important to me than you will ever be now let me go!" She left the kitchen immediately

She doesn't like doing this to him she doesn't like the person she is turning into but he caused all of this not because he rejected her,but because of what he said to her earlier that he doesn't care what she thinks of him so why should she be the only one to suffer?
