Body Swap Part 2
"(F/N)!" A voice shouted.
It sounded distant, as if it was an entire country away.
"Laxus!" Another voice shouted.
A moment later, you felt a hand on your shoulder.
"Hmm?" You groaned in a groggy manner. You opened your eyes, giving them time to adjust to your surroundings. Once you could see clearly, you saw Freed and Bickslow kneeling on each side of you (Freed on your right and Bickslow on your left), staring down at you.
"Laxus, are you okay?" Freed asked.
"Wha-" You gasped, burrowing your eyebrows together. "What's the matter with you?" You snapped, "Why are you calling me Laxus?"
"Uh . . ." Freed looked confused; as did Bickslow. "Because you are Laxus."
"Yeah, dude." Bickslow teased, "I think you hit your head a little too hard in the fall."
"What are you talking about?" You growled in frustration. "It's me, (F/N)! Remember me?"
"(F/N)?" Freed repeated. "But (F/N) is," He turned and pointed across the grassy field. "over there."
Across the field was an unconscious body with Evergreen kneeling next to it.
You shifted your body, trying to sit up, when you realized that your body was WAY heavier than it was earlier.
"No way!" You gasped, looking down.
You were in a man's body.
Looking up and across the field, you finally saw your body lying unconscious next to Evergreen.
"Why am I looking at my body?" You said in a daze.
"What do you mean?" Bickslow grunted.
You opened your mouth to reply, but then your body began to stir.
"(F/N)!" Evergreen gasped, almost overflowing with happiness.
You narrowed your eyes, observing the scene closely.
"What the-" The other you said.
"Oh, (F/N), I'm so glad you're ok!" The Fairy Mage hugged the other you tightly.
"Wha-" The other you gasped, struggling to get out of Evergreen's grip. "Get off of me! And why are you calling me (F/N)?"
"What do you mean?" Evergreen asked.
"What's wrong with your eyes, Ever? It's me, Laxus!"
"Laxus?" Evergreen looked at you. The other you followed suit and eventually locked eyes with you.
"Who the heck are you?" 'Laxus' asked, skeptical.
"Who do you think it is, numbskull?" You growled.
"(F/N)!" Laxus' eyes widened.
"Is anybody else confused?" Bickslow asked, mainly to Freed and Evergreen.
"Guys, as crazy as it sounds, I think Laxus and I switched bodies." You stated.
"SWITCHED BODIES!?!" The trio exclaimed in panic.
"Story of my life." Laxus mumbled.
"What did you say?" You growled, though it came out as Laxus' voice so it was way scarier than you intended it to be.
"Woah," Laxus flinched, "do I really sound like that?"
"Yes." Everyone answered in unison.
"I just remembered something." You stated. "Where's Destiny?"
"Uh . . ." The Thunder Legion trio scratched their heads.
"YOU ABANDONED THE MAYOR'S DAUGHTER???" Laxus shouted, although it came out as your voice which screeched a little.
"Why do you care so much about her? Huh, Laxus?" You sneered.
"I don't, I just care about our reward." He replied.
"Why don't we focus all of this energy on our mission?" Freed suggested, trying to diffuse the tension between you and Laxus.
"That'd be absolutely wonderful." Laxus spat, glaring at you.
This is gonna be a LONG job. Freed, Bickslow, and Evergreen thought in unison.
You and Laxus attempted to stand up in each other's body.
It proved to be quite difficult.
"Gosh, you're so tiny!" Laxus complained.
"That's just because you're a muscle man!" You rebutted. "Everyone probably seems small to you."
"And you've got too much hair! It's, like, everywhere!"
"Oh, I'm sorry! Would you prefer I go bald!?"
As the five of you walked, you noticed Destiny a little farther up the street.
She was caught in a headlock by a hooded figure while a second hooded figure stood close by.
"Oh, no! It's Destiny!" Evergreen panicked.
"Taking a young lady hostage," Freed said, "that's not very noble."
"What happened to 'I know three different kinds of martial arts'?" You grumbled.
"Laxus, help me!" Destiny shouted, looking at you.
Why is she looking at me? Then that light bulb went off on your head. Oh, right! I'm Laxus now! Well, I guess it's time to be Laxus. You grinned from ear to ear.
"Nah, I'm good." You shrugged your shoulders.
"WHAT???" Destiny shouted.
"What are you doing, (F/N)?" Laxus whispered.
"I'm being you." You whispered back.
"Look fellas, she ain't no mage and she ain't packin' anything, so why don't you run on home and I can promise you, you won't end up behind bars?"
"We know she's not a mage," One of the figures said, "but you are! You and your friends come quietly and we won't hurt the girl."
"'Cuse me?" You growled and glared at them.
"You heard us!"
You cracked your knuckles and a dark, anger-filled aura flowed from you. "Who do you think you're talkin' to, pal?" You snarled, "You got a death wish?"
She's just like Laxus! The Thunder Legion thought in unison.
"We ain't playin' around, man!" The hooded figure, who had Destiny in a headlock, spat. "Surrender or we'll kill this girl!"
"(F/N)." Laxus warned.
"Okay, okay, we surrender." You sighed, raising your hands in defeat.
"Heh," The figure chuckled, "good."
Suddenly, the five Fairy Tail wizards and the two hooded figures began to disappear.
"Wha-" Evergreen gasped.
"What's happening?" Bickslow panicked.
A few seconds later, Destiny was all alone in the middle of the street.
"Oh no." She grimaced.
SOMEWHERE IN AN UNKNOWN LOCATION . . .
"Where are we?" Freed wondered, looking at his surroundings.
"Welcome to the Wizards' Slave Camp!" A voice said.
"Who's there?" You hissed, annoyed.
"I run this camp." The voice said. "We bring wizards like you here, force them into labor, and all while draining every single drop of their magic power."
"So you're the one who has been taking wizards from their towns." Evergreen concluded.
"Haha!" The voice laughed. "They made it easy, honestly. Do you know that people are so distracted when fighting with another person that they lower their defenses? Try and deny it all you want, but you guys are proof of that."
"What are you talking about?" Laxus growled.
"The two of you," The voice said concerning you and Laxus, "you two were arguing earlier, weren't you?"
How did he-You thought as your eyes widened.
"You two were so caught up in your relationship issues that you didn't notice one of my men casting a spell on you."
"YOU MADE US SWITCH BODIES!?" You and Laxus shouted at the same time.
"Boy, you two are slow." The voice groaned.
"Switch us back!" Laxus demanded.
"Yeah," You agreed, "right now!"
"I don't think so." The voice hummed. "Having you two like this will make putting you in cuffs so much easier. Go get 'em, boys!"
The five of you heard a herd of footsteps and suddenly, you all were surrounded by an army of hooded figures.
"Get 'em!" One of the figures shouted before the entire army charged.
Let's dance! You grinned, excited to fight.
"Explode." You said in a monotone voice.
You expected an explosion to go off, but nothing happened and before you knew it, you were kicked in the jaw.
"Ow!" You groaned, rubbing your jaw. "What the heck happened? Why isn't my magic working?"
Then you heard a scream.
You turned your head and saw Laxus on the ground.
That's why! It finally clicked. I'm not in my body so I don't have my magic.
Then Laxus screamed again as he was hit by another attack.
"(F/N), your magic's not working!" He whined. "How the heck do you make it work!?"
"Concentrate." You said.
"I AM!" He shrieked.
"C'mon Laxus," You scoffed, "it can't be that hard."
So, you decided to try.
You took a battle stance and did one of your personal favorite spells that Laxus has.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON'S ROAR!"
Not even a single spark.
"WHAT THE HECK!?" You shouted, frustrated.
"Laxus, (F/N)," Freed called. "maybe you two should sit this one out. Try and break the body switching spell."
"But you guys can't fight all of these people on your own!" You protested.
"We'll be fine." Evergreen said.
"Yeah, we are the Thunder Legion after all." Bickslow grinned.
"C'mon." Laxus ordered, grabbing you by the wrist and pulling you away from the large battle.
Once you two were out of the way, Laxus stared at you. "Any ideas?"
"You're leaving it up to me?" You growled.
"Look," Laxus sighed. "let's not fight. That's what got us into this mess in the first place."
"Well, if you would act like you want a relationship, we wouldn't be having this problem!"
"Well, what do you want (F/N), huh? What do you want from me?"
"Showing some affection wouldn't hurt! Sometimes, I feel like . . . . I feel like you don't really like me . . like you said. Sometimes, I think 'was he lying when he confessed' but I try to keep hope alive. I tell myself that I'm just imagining stuff. You . . . You told me you liked me and I gave you a chance, and now I've fallen for you and it feels like you don't care about me at all!"
By now, you were crying and wiping the tears away as they came.
MEANWHILE, WITH THE THUNDER LEGION . . .
"There's too many." Evergreen commented.
"We can't afford to give up." Freed said. "Laxus and (F/N) need our help. We have to find a way to break the spell in case they can't."
"You think if we find whoever runs this place and beat him, then we can break the spell?" Bickslow suggested.
"Or maybe if we figure out which one of these guys cast the spell in the first place . . ." Evergreen thought aloud.
"That just might work." Freed smiled. "Let's act quickly. It could be any one of these hooligans."
"Right!" Evergreen and Bickslow agreed in unison.
The trio continued their battle against the vast amount of hooded figures.
BACK TO YOU AND LAXUS . . .
"(F/N)," Laxus called your name in a serious tone. He reached a hand up and caressed your cheek. "I'm sorry, okay? I've never had . . a real girlfriend before. I've dated girls, but I didn't care about them. You're the first girl I actually care about."
"Really?" You asked with a bit of hope in your voice.
"Of course." A brief moment of silence came between you two, until Laxus said, "You know what, this . . this is weird." He grimaced and removed his hand from your cheek.
"I guess touching your own face would be weird." You said.
"It was uncomfortable." He grumbled.
"Oh by the way, wizards," The voice returned. "If the spell isn't broken within thirty minutes of being casted, then it becomes permanent."
He chuckled, "You have ten minutes."
