You had a huge surprise for your husband Lawliet, you had set things up so when he came into work he would get the news that would change his life.

What was the news? He was going to be a father. You had three decorated boxes set up on the floor of HQ, one small one, one medium one and one huge one, you sat in the huge one and hid with a pastel blue baby onesie on your hands.

You stayed quiet as you heard the doors open.

"There's boxes and balloons in here for L" one of the task force members said.

"What? It's not my birthday?"

You heard L walk up to the boxes and the first box be opened.

"I have a surprise for you?" He said, reading the note inside

He opened the second box and dug through the tissue paper. You heard the task force gasp, he must have found the baby bottle. There was the sound of more paper being throws around and you finally heard him pull out the pacifier.

"Oh my god"

You beard him scramble up and open the box with you in it, you jumped up and held up the baby onesie.

"Surprise!" You said.

He threw a hand over his mouth and tears formed in his eyes. He threw his arms around you and squeezed the life out of you.

"Are you serious?" He asked.

"I wouldn't lie about something like this, you're really going to be a dad!" You smiled.

You saw the smiles on the faces of the taskforce, even Light of all people was smiling.

You felt tears of joy soak through your shirt and felt L's body start to shake as he cried.

"I can't believe this is real" he sobbed.

"You get to name him" you said.

"No way you have to"

"Nope you are"

You stayed in each other's arms for what felt like years before the hug finally broke and L used his sleeve to wipe the tears.

All at once you were bombarded with congratulations from the taskforce and tips on raising a child.

The whole time L just smiled at you.

"What?" You giggled.

He walked up to you and grabbed your hands, resting his forehead against yours.

"I'm finally going to have a family"
