You and Lawliet had been together for almost 6 years now. It had been the best years of your life. But today was the day everything changed.

"Where are you taking me? Why do I have to dress up so fancy?" You said as L helped zip the back of your dress.

"That's a surprise" he said as you fixed his tie.

You followed him out to the car and jumped in the front seat.

"Ok but seriously are we going to a restaurant?"

"You'll see, when we get there I'm going to pick something up from whammies so I'll leave you in the car and be back in a few minutes" he said.

"Ok"

You soon pulled into the driveway of the orphanage and it looked surprisingly empty.

He was in and out in a second, you didn't really think much of it, he must have just been getting a spare credit card or something.

You drive down the freeway and pulled into the car park for the national park of the city.

"Ooo, fancy" you said.

"There's more"

You got out of the car wondering what was going on. The park looked normal and all, there were people walking around and flowers, what could he be up to.

As soon as you stepped onto the grass, you heard music start to play, gaining the attention of everyone around. You looked around and saw signs start to unravel from the trees.

"(Y/n)?" You said reading the first sign out loud.

You walked forward and saw another sign.

"I have something important to ask you"

You walked forward again, all the public around you seemed to stop and stare with smiles on their faces.

"Turn around"

You turned around to see a massive sign and L had dropped to one knee behind you.

"Will you- OH MY GOD!" You said reading the sign.

You threw your hands over your mouth and looked down at L who was holding out a box with a pure diamond ring inside it.

"(Y/n) (l/n), will you marry me?" He said.

It was silent as everyone at the park waited for you answer, you felt tears start to stream down your face and and slowly started to nod.

"Yes, YES!" You said.

The strangers around you started to clap and cheer as L slid the ring into your finger and jumped to hug you. He wrapped his arms around you as you happily sobbed into his chest.

"I love you so much!" You exclaimed.

"I love you too" he said.

Suddenly you heard a thump behind you. You turned to see Near and Mello had jumped from the trees where the held the signs up before they rolled down. You dropped to your knees as thee ran over to you, jumping on you and squeezing the life out of you. You felt Matt run over to you and join the party as well as L who was hugging everyone so tight they may as well pop out good their skin.

"Did you plan this?!" You said.

"We planned it for months!" Near said.

"We helped paint the signs and get the music!" Mello said.

"Congratulations (y/n)! You and L make the best couple!" Matt said.

You jumped up again and wrapped your arms around him, giving him a kiss smack dab on the lips.

"I love you so much..."
