You felt absolutely horrible. You felt like you were swallowing a volcano every time you spoke or swallowed something, you felt nauseous and weak. You caught something.

"(Y/n) you'll be late if you don't get up" you hear L call from down the hall.

You didn't respond or get up, you felt too sick to move.

"(Y/n)?"

You heard the door open and L walk over to you. You felt his cold hand on your forehead for a moment.

"You're burning" he said.

"I fell sick" you said in a croaky voice.

"Wait here"

L left and came back with a thermometer, you took it from him and stuck it in your mouth. L took it from you and looked at the temperature, a look of concern growing in his face.

"That can't be right..."

He put a hand on your forehead again.

"I'm taking you to the doctor, this is very un-natural..."

L picked you up bridal style and carried you out to the car where he sat you down in the front seat and bucked you up. He got into the drivers seat and started to drive down to the doctors.

"What hurts?" He asked.

"My throat, head and tummy" you said in a small voice.

"Are you nauseous?"

"I bit..."

"It sounds like a fever, but your temperature is too high... I hope you don't have anything too serious..."

L took your hand in his as he drove down the highway, giving it a tight squeeze. Suddenly the phone rang, L turned on the Bluetooth and answered it.

"This is L"

"Are you coming into work?"

It was Light.

"Not today, (y/n)'a very sick, I'm taking her to the doctors"

"Alright, hope she gets better" Light said.

"I'll do what I can from home" L said.

"Ok, bye"

"Bye"

And with that the call ended and you pulled up at the doctors. L helped you out of the car and walked inside up to the reception desk.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The receptionist said.

"Hi, my girlfriend is showing fever symptoms but her temperature is dangerously high" L said.

"We'll get you a doctor, I just need your name"

"Ryuzaki"

"Alright, just wait over in the waiting rooms alright"

"Thank you"

You walked over to the waiting room where there were a few kids playing with toys. They seemed to have very chesty coughs. You sat next to L, leaning against him, feeling tired, weak and overall just really bad.

You watched the kids play with blocks as L gently rubbed your arm.

"Ryuzaki?" A doctor said.

L got up and pulled you up with him, following the doctor to the doctors room. He sat you down on a chair and sat next to you.

"What seems to be the problem?" The doctor asked.

"(Y/n) here is showing fever symptoms but her temperature is dangerously high" L said.

"Has she eaten anything strange in the last few days"

L turned to you for an answer, you shook your head in response.

"No"

"What's your relation with her?"

"Boyfriend"

"Did she wake up like this?"

L nodded.

The doctor typed some things on her computer and grabbed a thermometer, she handed to you and you put it in your mouth, it beeped and she took it from you. She read the temperature and had a shocked expression on her face.

"That's odd... too high to be a fever... she could just have an unusually high temperature because of her immune system though" the doctor said.

"She's also feeling sore and a bit nauseous, she hadn't eaten anything today either" L said.

"Well, get her to eat something, only if it's a little bit. Now I have to ask some personal questions, (y/n) ryuzaki can leave the room if you like"

"No it's ok, he might know something I don't" you said.

The doctor turned to her computer and opened a document of some kind.

"Alright, are you sexually active?"

"No" you said.

"When was the last time you had your period?" The doctor asked.

"Three weeks ago I think"

"Yea three weeks, you made me buy chocolate at midnight" L said.

"Ok, have you been taking and drugs or other medicine?"

"No, the last thing I had was pain killer three weeks ago"

"Ok, now if you could allow us a blood test we'll ba able to make sure you don't have anything serious"

-short time skip of medicine-

"Well, the good news is you're not severely ill, the bad being you do have an extremely high fever. Try and take cold showers and wear shorter clothes, get some rest and eat something. Drink lost if fluids and take some of this" the doctor said handing your a bottle of medication.

"Ok..." you sniffed.

"And ryuzaki, try and stay with her for as long as she's off work, if anything progresses badly bring her back"

"Will do, thank you" L said.

You both walked back out to the car and drove home. When you got home, L made you drink some of the medicine and told you to take a cold bath while he made something to eat. You couldn't be bothered to argue so you did as you were told. When you came back out and ate a tiny bit, due to fear of throwing it up again, L gave you some cough lozenges and told you to go to bed. You dragged your feet down to your room and flopped onto the bed, feeling the mattress sink beside you and L's cold hands rub your back.

"You'll feel better soon, I promise" he said.

You rolled over and sniffed.

"You sure?" You said.

"As long as you take your medicine and get some rest you'll be fine"

L put a damp cloth on your forehead and took your hand I his.

"Get some sleep I'll take care of anything you need alright"

"Ok... I love you"

"I love you too honey"
