'"ABHIMAAN'S POV"

Of course I would've gone to office. Firstly, I didn't want to be at home and waste my time in some rituals. Not that I don't believe in them but they weren't even of any meaning right now.

Secondly, I really had a very important case to attend. Not in court but the case was damn important.

And third, I didn't want to be there because my mind wasn't clear. Looking at those foot marks on floor I felt something unusual. I felt uneasy in a way I've never felt. I don't wanna feel it at all. Yet it was As if someone was screaming inside me for just being there and this was where I would've lost my sense to think.

And listening to the heart is something I can't afford. In this case, not even in dreams or nightmares.

Hence I left. In evening I got some calls from mom as well as her.

Her.

Now Mrs. Vrinda Abhimaan Kapoor.

And the name itself was twisting something inside me.

I didn't pick any calls because I knew they would call me home. Even if Vrinda won't, she'll be forced by mom to call me and ask me for being at home. I know my mom.

It was at somewhat 12 at night when I reached home.

"Lucas, I asked for one more bodyguard from tomorrow for Vrinda" I said to Lucas who was my driver as well as bodyguard.

"Already done sir. Elliot will be here from tomorrow" He told and I nodded.

"And about what I told to dig in" I asked

"You'll have the file of it in morning sir" He told

"Not at home. Don't even do that mistake. At office. And you're going to hand it to me only. No one else. Clear. " I commanded and he nodded.

"Good night Lucas" I wished

"Good night sir" He replied as I rang the bell.

Staff opened the door when I went inside to the living room I saw mom and Aadi on couch.

"You can burn your phone and never use another" Mom snapped and I looked at her.

"Where's.. " I was about to ask when Aadi spoke.

"Gayi vo (she left) " He said

"What. Where" I asked horrified

"To her parents" He replied with a duh tone.

"Toh ghar gayi esa bol naa. (So say that she went home) I snapped

"If you keep ignoring phone while work and come home this late, sach mai chale jaayengi (she'll leave in real) " He muttered

"Shut up Aadi" I warned

"What shut up. He's right. First day of marriage Abhi. A woman expects her husband to be there with her. We all are new for her. It's just you whom she knows completely" Mom said

No she doesn't. And I'm sure she's more comfortable with them all then me.

"Mom, no one knows me completely. But yes She understands my work mom. And moreover she herself will join the firm from tomorrow " I lied again and she sighed

"She won't join from tomorrow. Go to your room. I'll send dinner with someone" Mom spoke leaving where as Aadi frowned and left too.

What! What did I do!!

I sighed and left for my room and slid the door of walk in when I saw some four suitcases.

What the hell.

It's my walk in.

Biwi bani nahi ki walk in pe kabza kar lia.

(As soon as she became my wife, she Occupied my walk in ).

Freshening up and changing I came out when my eyes went to the white envelope on the table.

I picked it up and opened it. It was a letter for leave.

Fucking great. Leave for two days.

That's why mom said she won't join from tomorrow .

Keeping it aside I had my dinner and worked on some files in my hands and slept not before turning on the gramophone and listening some music.

It's been two days. Two days since she has neither picked my calls nor replied to any texts.

She has been talking to Aadi and Mom but not me. Fine by me . I'm not dying for her to inform me about her where abouts.

You already know her whereabouts so shut up.

"Sir.. " Eleanor spoke

"What" I scowled and she looked at me terrified

"Aa... Ne.. Si.. " She tried to say when I glared her.

"Don't eat words Eleanor. I hate that" I said this time keeping my voice in check.

"Ms. Tanya is here" She informed

"I really can't deal with her right now Eleanor. Just tell her to leave" I said

"I told her sir. She doesn't listen to anyone" She sighed when I stood up and left the cabin.

"What are you doing here Tanya" I asked as I saw her on the same floor again.

"I was here to see you. " She said

"This office doesn't even know about you other then you as a client. So don't create fuss " I warned

"Abhimaan, don't do this to us. Come on. We know each other for more then six months. It's better then marrying someone who doesn't even know you at all" She said

"Really? So for your kind information Ms. Tanya Dewani, I'm already married. So now, if I see you here, it won't be without consequences" I stated and without a word went back to my cabin.

I swear if I won't have been a lawyer, I would've just strangled her.

"Eleanor, this floor is a fucking reserved place. I don't want to see anyone being here without appointment. Anyone at all. Tell receptionist the same. Clear" I commanded to which she nodded.

"Get me an espresso. My head's banging" I said and she was out before I could dismiss.

Thankfully Eleanor is not a cringing secretary. She's disciplined, trustworthy and work headed.

Lucas handed me the file and I went through it. And my doubts were getting more on this file.

I picked out my phone looking at the calls and texts but no, I found the woman no where.

Is she even for real.

That was it. My patience gave up and I dialled Neil first.

"Tell your little sister to pick up my damn phone or else I'll break that thing into pieces" I said

"Do that. She's your wife. Get your credit card ready for another one. That's it" He mocked

"Neil shut it yar. She hasn't even found it important to just call once and tell her where abouts" I said

"You know her where abouts. Admit that you want her to call you. " He mocked again

"It was mistake talking to you" I said when he chuckled.

"She'll be at airport seeing off her family" He informed

"Okay" I muttered

"Any progress in the files" He asked

"No" I replied and cut the call standing up.

"Eleanor, wrap up the work and leave. It's already 9 pm. I'm leaving" I said in my way where as she was standing with the coffee cup.

I took that cup from her and walked out.

"Okay sir" She replied from behind as I took the lift and went downstairs.

Reaching airport I went inside looking around when I saw her with her parents and brother.

"Sush. Don't cry. Now you're not even alone. You've a mom , a little brother and husband who loves you so much" I heard her mom say as I walked towards them.

"That's right mom" I said and it's when they all turned and looked at me.

"Hello Wife" I smirked looking at her shocked face.

"What the hell are you doing here" She asked

"Vrinda! What's the way" Her dad scolded

"I mean.. What are you doing here" She asked again.

"Yes. Vrinda told us that you're busy with a very important case hence can't come" Her brother Jay said and I looked at her.

"Really. You told them this " I asked when she shut her eyes muttering something.

How much I want to tell everyone that she's cooking it up but, I'll pass that.

"Well yes I was busy But I came to see you off and pick her too. Her above everything else " I added with a sickening sweet smile and she glared me.

This was really fun!!

Meanwhile the flight was announced and she looked at her parents.

"Take care. I'll see you soon" She whispered and I looked at her as tears left her eyes as she hugged her dad.

"Be with her Abhimaan. I'm giving you my heart and life. She doesn't show but she needs you. Protect her" He said and I nodded.

"I'll protect her from the each and everyone" I replied and the woman looked at me shocked.

Fuck! I'm myself shocked.

As they left I saw Vrinda taking a deep breath.

"You shouldn't just fake this much Mr. Kapoor " She mumbled and I was about to say something but stopped myself.

"Let's go home" I said and walked away where as she followed.

"You're driving" She asked as she saw the car and I raised a brow taking the driver seat.

"Oh hello. I'm not your chauffer" I said as I saw her opening the door of back seat.

"Well, take care of me" She mocked and sat back where as I came out.

"Vrinda come in front. I don't want fuss from media or at home" I said opening the door of passanger side and she huffed yet did what I said.

Only I know how tough it is to handle Media. I didn't want to be this famous too. It cause me problems.

The car hit the roads and none of us spoke anything. She for the whole time kept looking outside and I resisted myself from mocking her at anything.

As we reached mansion and entered inside, mom took her into hug.

"I missed you so much" Mom said

"I missed you too mom" She whispered but tears already left her eyes.

"Hey sush. Your mom is here too. Come on" Mom cooed wiping her tears.

"Yes bhabhi. You've a brother too" Aadi said and she smiled with tears hugging him.

"And look for once in a lifetime this idiot is home at time too" Mom spoke and Vrinda looked at me.

It's 11 pm. On time. Really?

"I'll freshen up" I mumbled and before anyone could stop I left.

Freshening and changing I came out of the walk in to see Vrinda sitting on the bed.

She looked at me and then was going inside the walk in when I finally spoke.

"Stop ignoring the calls and texts Vrinda. We both are even now. I won't do that again neither you would" I said

"And who are you to order me" She asked

"Tumhara pati ( Your husband) " I replied

"Jayda itraao mat aap (Don't flatter yourself so much) " She warned to which I smirked and left the room.

"Where's Vrinda" Mom asked

"Your precious daughter is on her way to freshen up and come downstairs" I said with a tight smile when Aadi laughed.

"Mom, bhai is jealous of his own wife" He giggled

"Shut up Aadi before I break your face" I warned

"See. The proof" He laughed more when I threw a pillow from couch which he dodged and laughed more.

Meanwhile Vrinda too came and we all had our dinner where Vrinda was talking and telling everything.

Who was interested though!

Ignoring this, I had my dinner after which we left for the room.

I looked at Vrinda who was already looking at me.

"Why don't you like other rich kids live alone at some pent house" She asked

"Meri marzi (My wish) " I replied

"Oh Meri marzi , I can't share bed with you and I can't go to any other room because we've mom and Aadi here. And cherry on the cake, this floor has just one bedroom. I'm not going to take a couch too" She stated sitting on the bed.

"So obviously I'm not going to take a couch for six months" I too said and she looked at me annoyed.

"Bring another bed here" She whined

"Just make your boundaries yar Vrinda. I'll not cross them. " I said

"Pakka (sure) " She asked and I nodded.

"Even if we do a bit, we're mature enough. Moreover I'm the man you ki... " Before I could complete she threw a pillow on me which I dodged easily and smirked more.

And then after she was satisfied with six pillow boundary and a comforter rolled over it, she occupied one side where as I did another.

I looked at her gazing the ceiling.

"We've to make some rules" I said

"You already made a contract. Now what" She asked

"Some basics that weren't in that contract" I replied

'Fine. Shoot" She said

"You can add yours if you want" I told to which she nodded.

"First, you're going to disappear without informing me anything like this time" I said and she chuckled dryly.

"You were informed indirectly" She stated

"Yes indirectly which causes suspicions " I replied

"I won't. You didn't pick my calls too" She protested

"I already told you, it won't be repeated. So now you're going to inf.. " Before I could say she spoke.

"Clause no 3 stated 'In their personal time they're free to do whatever they want without any bounds wrt to each other ' " She repeated the clause.

"I'm not denying you to do anything. Do whatever the hell you want, for the hell I care but I need where abouts. " I deadpanned

"Why " She whined

"I'm not a normal lawyer Vrinda. I get threats a lot of times. And your safety is my responsibility now. Shadi ki hai chahe naam ki. Par jawabdaari li hai (Even if I've married for name sake, I've taken the responsibility). You'll be assigned a bodygaurd tomorrow. Don't hamper with the security at all. Don't pester me to show the bad side of mine.And yes, where abouts are necesssary." I stated and she sighed nodding.

"That goes to you too. I don't want details. But atleast pick up your phone when we all call. Someone might need you urgently someday and you'll be ignoring calls" She said looking at me and I sighed.

"I will. " I replied

"Anything else? " She asked

"You're not going to touch my office things. I don't like anyone intruding my work space. I work late at night sometimes when I've cases lined up. There's a office room on the same floor. You can roam anywhere in the mansion but not that. It has my files and folders and I don't like them messed up even a bit. Clear" I warned

"Bol to aise rahe ho jaise duniya ke eklaute lawyer ho (You're saying as if you're just the only lawyer of the world) " She mocked

"I get three high profile cases every single day from the whole States. So yes Vrinda, I'm not the only Lawyer but I'm definitely the best lawyer" He stated and I huffed nodding.

"Fine. I'm not even interested to touch your things, files anything. And I dont even like office rooms" She muttered

"You want me to announce the wedding at work? Legal documents to be signed for wedding will come after a few days from registrar's office and then processing will take one week. If you want we can announce it tomorrow itself" I said

"Do it. " She replied

"I thought you'll deny with, I don't want to tag your name and blah blah " I raised a brow when she chuckled dryly.

"Let's be very honest Mr. Kapoor. I'll be judged. People know me now due to that one mistake I did. Even if I go tomorrow and start working I'll be seen with the eyes of woman who kissed you. Not the woman who on her own got into this firm. So it doesn't make any difference whether the wedding is announced or not. " She said and I clenched my fists at mistake.

"Though I don't want to admit but this is true." I spoke looking at her where as she sighed turning her back at me.

"Is this gramophone just for show or it plays" She asked and I raised a brow standing up and connected it.

I saw her humming the song and got to know, one thing is atleast common between us.

"Good night" She mumbled turning off the lamp and I hummed as I turned off the music doing the same after a while.

The next day as I woke up I felt someone breathing near me.

I looked at the sleeping figure and sighed.

Sote hue kitni achi lagti hai. Uthte se hi rakshash.

(She looks so good while sleeping. But after waking up she's a monster).

And she's tiny.

Like a.. Baby.

Though she didn't cross the pillows, neither I did but our faces were close.

Maintaining the decency I stood up and decided to get ready.

The next I saw her was when I went downstairs and she was already ready in a white turtleneck with cream trousers and overcoat.

"Where did you get ready" I asked surprised

"Morning to you too husband" She said with a big smile and I raised a brow.

"Abhi, it's her first day at work. Be good with her. If Vrinda complains me about you when you both are back, I'll slap you han" Mom warned

"No husband wife at work mom. Undue advantages le legi ye (she'll take undue advantages). " I cleared with a smirk.

"Maa, ignore him" She said when everyone chuckled where as I raised my brow.

"Breakfast everyone" I stated when mom chuckled nodding.

We all had our breakfast after which mom made Vrinda eat some jaggery.

"All the success for you sweetheart" Mom said kissing her forehead and she smiled.

"Meko khilaya tha jab mera first day tha. (Did you do this when I started to work) " I asked mom

"Thappad maarungi Abhi (I'll slap you) " She said and I chuckled.

"Bye mom" We wished and went towards the car.

"Good morning mam" She flinched at the voice.

"Aahh. Who's that" She screamed when I glared Lucas.

"Sorry sir. Elliot what are you doing " He scolded the another man.

"Pardon mam. I'm Lucas, sir's bodyguard. And he's Elliot, your body guard. He didn't mean to frighten you" Lucus said

"I'm sorry mam" Elliot apologized

"Logon ko darao yar. Mujhe to mat darao (Frighten people, not me) " She said

"Chalo matlab tum dar gayi ho to log dar jaaynge ( If you're scared then people will surely be scared) " I mocked when she glared me.

"Sit" I said opening the door and she without a word sat inside.

"They don't understand Hindi. They're both French. Use English with them. And most welcomed if you know french" I mocked sitting inside.

Till we reached office non of us spoke anything again.

As the car stopped at the big metal gates, I saw her rubbing her palms.

I went to other side and opened the door when she looked at me.

"I want to run away" She said and held out my hand for her.

"It'll be fine" I spoke

"People are going to judge me" She mumbled

"And why do you care of what people think about you. Why you care about anyone when you know the reason you're here is because you deserved it. No one should affect you in such ways Vrinda. That shows your weakness." I said and she looked at me.

"It's easy for you to say Mr. Kapoor. You're the boss" She mumbled

"If you won't step in, you won't find out. You're not a coward Vrinda" I stated and she sighed still looking at me before keeping her palm on mine.

When did I start saying these all to someone. I don't give a damn to anyone right.

Stepping out we moved towards the main door when each eye was on us.

"Keep it neutral. Your personal life should be none of their concern. It's yours. Don't give it's hold to anyone" I whispered in her ear while walking and she nodded.

Unknowingly to her, her hold on my hand tightened and I don't know why, why but I didn't resist.

But before we could walk my phone rang and I looked at the call.

"Get straight, to the top floor, wait for me in cabin. I'll be there in five" I told and she nodded.

"Yes Neil" I spoke

"Well, I've taken care of the media with your PR, and now you owe me one. And yes, announce before the girl face any more problems in media with stupid questions" He said

"Does Anjali knows now" I asked

"She's going to be my wife for God's Sake Abhi. She's ought to know." He sighed.

"Fucking great. That means it's reaching Vrinda " I muttered

"It won't. I assure you of that" He said and I mumbled an okay cutting the call.

As I went to the lift, I passed a hard glare to everyone to mind their own fucking business and went upstairs just to listen the receptionist.

"I can't let you in. And how are you here. Didn't security stop you. You're not the boss. Go before I call security to throw you out" She spoke and was about to hold Vrinda's hand when I spoke.

I clenched my fists at the audacity.

"Get away" I commanded and the two faces turned to me.
