"You're not alone in this..."

He looked into her eyes, seeing the truth of her words. He had no control over what happened next. Law captured her lips in a longing kiss, pouring all his feelings into it. If he was gonna die, the least he could do is enjoy what he had left. He knew it was selfish of him, to make her believe they could have something, but right now he didn't care. This was his moment to be normal, to not worry about the future. She was here with him now.

(Y/n) wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed deeply, pouring out all the longing they've had for each other all this time.

'(Y/n), forgive me for this...' Law thought to himself as he picked her up by her thighs, carrying her to the couch so they could continue.

'Normally you would look on the bright side of this. If I live, we can be together, but what are the odds of that?' They stripped their clothing off 'Let me be selfish...just for today'

"Wow..." (Y/n) said as she tried to catch her breath

"You sound surprised" Law teased, his gorgeous smirk on his face

"Maybe I am" She smiled as they resituated to a cuddling position on the couch, something she never pictured him doing. "I didn't take you for a cuddler"

"There's a lot you don't know about me..."

She looked up at him as she traced his chest "Maybe it's time I learn" Her hand glided up to rest on his cheek. He nuzzled his face into her touch and sighed. It couldn't hurt to at least tell her what kind of man he was.

"Well, when I was young, my island got infected with the White Lead Disease..."

"That disease is deadly"

"Believe me, I know. My sister had the late stages of it, and my mother and father were doctors. They tried to help her and the townspeople, but not much could be done"

Her heart broke as she listened to him talk. That was so much for a young kid to go through and he didn't even get to the worst part yet.

"Later on, an extermination crew came to my island and shot my parents in front of me, burned down their clinic, with my sister...inside of it" His hands traced her sides as he spoke.

"How did you escape?"

"I hid under a pile of dead bodies that were being shipped off. Eventually I ended up in Donquixote territory where I met Doflamingo and his brother..."

"Corazon"

He nodded and nuzzled his face in her neck "That's right. I was told I had at least 3 years left to live unless I could find a devil fruit to cure me. So that was my goal until I was supposed to die. I grew to hate the world around me, I wanted to destroy it."

She could feel his grip on her tightening, feeling his pain and anger. She rested her hand on his head "So what happened?"

"Corazon..." He spoke softly, trying to hold himself together. It had been so long since he last spoke of this. "He took me on a journey to find the OP-OP Fruit. He became a father figure to me, he saved my life. And Doflamingo killed him." His voice cracked as he tried not to focus on the pain, tears threatened to spill out of his eyes.

"That's why you want to face Doflamingo alone..."

He nodded and raised up to look at her face, pain visible in his eyes as well as determination "And I still am. I need to avenge Cora."

"Law, don't you think Corazon would want you to have friends by your side?"

"You don't understand. I left my crew so they wouldn't get hurt. If Doflamingo knows I care about anyone, he will use that against me. Which is why you are staying on this ship with Nami, Brooke, and the raccoon"

"What?! No! What gives you the right to decide that?"

"Did you not hear what I just said? I need Doflamingo to think I have nothing to lose. If you're out there..." He trailed off and looked away

Realization dawned on her, as if their current situation didn't show that at all, Law cared for her. "You like me"

"I didn't say that..."

"You basically did" She smirked a bit "You, Trafalgar Law, have fallen deeply in love with me"

"Okay, don't you think that's a bit dramatic?"

"Do I need to remind you of the past hour?"

"I needed to relieve stress. You just happened to be here" He blushed and got off of her, putting his clothes back on

"Sure. We can go with that" She teased and got dressed herself. "Besides, even if you did admit it, that wouldn't stop me from fighting with the rest of you"

"(Y/n), there's a difference between fearless and stupid..." He grabbed her arm and pulled her close "Stay on the ship"

"Fine"

She sighed and he smiled a bit, kissing her forehead "About time you started listening to me" He teased her

"Well, I figured you might be right...just this once" (Y/n) smiled softly and looked into his eyes, followed by a sweet kiss. 

"But that doesn't mean I'm happy about it"

"I don't expect you to be (Y/n)"
