CHAPTER 7
7 | admiring from afar
Taeyong would always wake up early so he could cook and do his class record, as well as his lesson plan. It was something he got used to just because he usually spent his night relaxing since Donghyuck wanted him to. He was told he deserves some rest so he just did whatever his brother says. But being able to understand and play with the children every day is stressful.
Nevertheless, Taeyong enjoys his work.
"Hyungie, good morning," Donghyuck happily greeted as he entered kitchen. He saw Taeyong seated on the chair, doing his lesson plan, but he lifted up his head to look at his little brother.
"Hey, Hyuck. Eat up," Taeyong said before he goes back to writing.
The boy sat beside his older brother. He grabbed his utensils then starts eating his breakfast that was already plated for him. Donghyuck looked at his brother again who has his face scrunched up while his fingers played with ballpen in hand. He was still in pyjamas and his mullet hair messed up. For some reason, both of them were growing out their hairs.
But Donghyuck was growing out his hair because Mark told he looked really pretty in it.
Taeyong didn't mind Donghyuck who looked like he was daydreaming. He still has a few hours to finish this and then goes to the kindergarten. Then he suddenly stiffened when he remembered about the alpha. He'll probably be able to see him there. They can't meet yet.
"Hyung, relax a bit."
The omega felt his brother standing behind him and played with his hair. Taeyong sighed, he loves it when someone just plays with his hair. He could literally fall asleep just from that.
"You have school, don't you?" Taeyong asked.
The omega started braiding his hyung's back hair, "Yeah, but I can just run my way there."
Taeyong just let Donghyuck continue whatever he was doing. He did what's left for the lesson plan then he could write down the children's names on his class record. He should prepare games next time. But Donghyuck's lemon scent became a bit intense.
"Hyung--"
"You're nervous. What is it about?" Taeyong asked without turning his head around.
Donghyuck hummed, with his hands still braiding and at the same time, fidgeting, "I was thinking about...you meeting my new friend."
The omega nodded, "Then why are you nervous?"
"I-It's just..."
Unfortuntanely for Donghyuck, Taeyong knows him better than anyone. He was with him since his was a baby. Funny story was that Taeyong got kicked out when his parents knew he was an omega. He did live alone for some weeks but surprisingly, Donghyuck left the house to be with his brother. So they literally spend their whole life together. Though Donghyuck could be mean or someone came out of hell, he could be this little soft kid, letting his omega side show when he wants something.
"Hyuck?"
Donghyuck bit his lower lip, "I want you to meet Mark," he said in one breathing.
Taeyong furrowed his eyebrows, "We talked about getting close with an alpha, didn't we?"
"Y-Yeah...But, hyung, he's not just any alpha!" the omega uttered, "Also, he helped me--"
"Helped you? With what?!"
Taeyong looked behind and straight at Donghyuck. The omega got flustered and immediately looked away from his brother's glare. His hands went behind him and fidgeted with his fingers.
"H-He just helped me w-when I almost dropped down the stairs..." Donghyuck said in the softest and tiniest way possible.
"You guys met at the university?"
The boy nodded, "Yeah...He was there because he was Jeno's friend and kinda visited the university he graduated in. I-It's kind of a mutual friend thing."
Taeyong sighed, "Let's talk about it later. I need to go."
"Hyung, i-it's fine if you don't want to--"
"I met every friend you have, so might as well meet this one as well."
"Hey, you alright?"
Jaehyun looked at Ten. He just arrived at the kindergarten and let's goes of Blue to play. He didn't want to go to the office just yet. Surely, people would already treat him different and he didn't want that. Worse, reporters would be camping at infront of his company doors.
"Johnny told me what happened yesterday," Ten added.
"Yeah," Jaehyun sighed and put his hands in his pocket, "Nothing I can do about it."
"I can drive Blue home if you need me to, Jae."
"No. He'll just hate me if I didn't pick him up," Jaehyun uttered, his eyes still glued on Blue from afar.
Ten hummed, "But you know, as a parent, you make your child understand you. It's not always you being with him. Of course, he needs to be independent at some point. He'll grow up into a matured boy someday then he'll have his own decisions and--Jae, are you alright?"
The alpha's palm was against his face while the omega talks and imagined Blue wanting to have his own life without his father. Jaehyun felt his heart stopped for a moment there. Ten chuckled at his reaction and literally looked like an obsessive dad who wants Blue to always be his baby.
"He'll always be my baby," Jaehyun said.
Ten chuckled, "He'll be somebody else's bab--"
"Oh, god, Ten. Just shut up," the alpha said and heard a laugh from the omega beside, "Aren't you upset if it's River?"
"Nah, I kinda see River kicking ass when he grows up. I'll be the proudest papa on earth."
Jaehyun furrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms, "Geez, you're weird."
Then his eyes wandered around until his eyes caught a glimpse of doe eyes. The pair wasn't looking at him but were twinkling upon having full attention to the children. They were like a pair of stars. They were pulling him, asking him to get closer. He stared at him and admired them from afar. They were familiar. Weirdest thing was his heart fluttering because of staring.
"Hey, I was joking about Blue being somebody else's baby--"
"I need to go. I'll see you guys later," Jaehyun said, not even listening to what Ten have said. Then turned his back to walk out of the school premises.
The omega nodded, "Okay, bye..."
Ten just watched him go. He raised an eyebrow at how abrupt the alpha but Jaehyun is Jaehyun.
