Have you ever had a story just "come" to you?
Lavender Fields (working title)
For once, summer-loving Caitlin is not looking forward to her favourite season. Her best friend in the world - her 13-year-old cat - passed away a few weeks ago. She's eager to seek refuge at home after finishing her university exams, but privacy isn't exactly an option - her mom asks her to play host to a family friend and her son, Luke, who live almost an hour away in the country.
Caitlin's stuck sharing a room with her sister, and her house with two strangers. And she can feel Luke's presence everywhere - if he's not asking questions that sound like insults, he's making comments that she's sure are meant to be insults. Frankly, Caitlin thinks he's coming across as a bit of a snob.
But as she wades through Luke's questions in his efforts to understand suburban life, Caitlin finds herself really getting to know someone better - herself. And when she reluctantly takes Luke with her to meet some of her friends, something happens that puts several things in motion.
Suddenly everything about Luke starts making sense. And, as Caitlin considers Luke's invitation to visit his family farm, she hopes that perhaps she can make sense of who she is and who she wants to be, too.
